Sorry to hear it Tommy....hope things get better in a hurry for you guys.....life's too short to be down and out...but it happens to all of us sooner or later...

No down and out here today since it's HUSKER GAME DAY...YEAH....We play the hapless Wyoming Cowboys who will give us a good game I'm sure....the new Memorial Stadium expansion is done and now there will be 91,000 of our closest friends gathered at the Big Red River as we set upon another epic Husker season......We will laugh, we will cry, we will kiss a lot of money goodby....but what the hell you can't take it with you...right?....

....but before that I have to mow the lawn and where is my helper guy...oh yeah he went to college....So it's all on me right now.....maybe a new huge mower would help...

Speaking of football our local high school team crushed the No. 1 ranked team in the State last night in front of a wild and crazy home crowd. I went to it and who did I see but UBoy and a bunch of his friends came over from Lincoln to see the game and hang out a bit then they were headed back to Lincoln....we had a nice talk then a hug and he was off....funny how all that changes....in a matter of a week or two.....

Was really run down yesterday after I got home from the shop, maybe the heat/humidity, not sure, was asleep before dark. Wanted to go to the gym this morning and have so far had my oatmeal and coffee and still draggy. Heat index is due to be 105 here today. Maybe this evening I'll go to the ballpark and walk my 3 miles. Plan to get the yard mowed and sit in the pool a while, grocery shopping, etc. That's about in on the Arkansas side of things. Wish I had a boat or something so I could go to the lake or river.

This was interesting to me anyway....Stupid Texas is all around us....they own the Huskers......

Greetings! I had to battle the clock this morning. First time I looked it was 6:02 AM. Then it was 7:35. Finally, I got up at 9:21. Perseverance. Determination. You can do anything if you put your mind to it.

So yesterday the airline temporarily lost our car seat in Phoenix. We were going to Flagstaff so they gave us a loaner, which of course didn't fit Jacob correctly, too small. So they were supposed to fly the carseat up to the small Flagstaff airport so we could pick it up. Went there at 8 and it wasn't there. They screwed up again last night but never bothered to call me. So I had to drive home and wait a few hours for them to put it on the next flight. Now another 20 minute drive there because they just called me that it's in. Annoying but I need the carseat. Oh well.

The loaner car seat must've belonged to another couple looking for theirs. Deck, deck, deck. Big deck, small deck, long deck , short deck, wood deck, stone deck. I don't have a deck but I do have a patio. The view isn't even close to as nice as those. So count me among the jealous (or envious). Go sit on a deck, will ya?

Afternoon guys...it's hot in central Kansas too. K-State sucked the big one last night, not that it matters to me. Going to get to see most of Rosie's brothers and sister this weekend. I'll try to see my younger brother tomorrow too.

I wouldn't want to rub it in, but I am a Bison alum and am happy the way things turn out. NDSU has had a great run lately, but I also remember the lean years. I just wish Dallas would get out of the lean years and get back to the glory of Landry, Staubach, Dorsett and Golden Richards.

According to my car it hit 104 here today. According to the news, it did not. I think the news lady is full of shit. I have a huge tree in the yard that's trying to die and it also puts a huge shade on my little pool when I don't want it. Man I rent from wants to bring some kid and a 28 ft ladder to cut out the dead limbs. I'd rather hire it topped totally out to keep the thing from fallin on the house. It's the neighbor lady's tree come to find out an she don't care what happens to it. I found a man that will take it down to the fork which is about 12 feet up from the ground for $300. Fine with me. I'll pay it to get it gone and have my sunshine. Lady next door is in the nursing home, I'd hate like heck to ask her to pay it. Either way, the pool was nice for a while today. Got out about 3 to go give blood. The Red Cross has been blowing up my phone and they had a local drive. Well, they had issues so it got cancelled. I go to the local office since I have already gotten out, dried off and in town, they close at 3. Figures. Well at least the grocery shopping is done and I've had dinner already. Now what?

Somebody backed into the side of my son's Jeep as he was driving by in a parking lot tonight, so that's a great way to get the weekend rolling.

I texted Marcus in the middle of the game this evening to rub in the fact that they were behind. He texts back once they are ahead...damn he's no fun.....
