Good morning gang.

Getting back to seasonal weather here. Should be mostly sunny today with highs in the low 40's.

Word of the Day Tuesday, November 19, 2013

omnium-gatherum\ om-nee-uhm-GATH-er-uhm \, noun;

1. a miscellaneous collection.

Origin:

Omnium-gatherum comes from the Latin roots omnium meaning "of all" and the pseudo-Latin word gatherum meaning "a gathering."

Soso chichipa!

I imagine there will be some bikes and Vettes out today, as it is gonna be 56 - practically tropical. We'd better enjoy it while it lasts, since the high Saturday will be in the teens. Ick.

Keep warm, Gurus!

Good morning ..... Salsa and chips to you, too Brad! A couple more days of warmish weather (windier than heck though), then down into the pits. 34 and 29 projected highs for Thursday and Friday.

MS basketball starts today and I get to work it. Four games in a row. Should be done by 8pm.

Popular term lately in my school.
The word cracker
Cracker, sometimes white cracker or cracka, is a derogatory term for white people , especially poor rural whites

I was having enough trouble with ebonics

A poor excuse for a failure to grasp the basics of english. When in doubt, throw an "izzle" sound in the middle of any word of just string random ib ub

When this was broughht up in court in california we were as teachers being asked to take classes for cross cultural differences

Now we are teaching common core.
So much for learning in school

The Common Core curriculum, an effort to create voluntary national standards and testing for math and English, has long been criticized by some conservatives who say it’s being used to promote a liberal agenda.

But recently, public school materials tied to Common Core have faced increased scrutiny from parents and others on conservative websites. Though Texas is one of five states that has opted not to use Common Core’s curriculum, some of those critics have latched on to a grammar exercise used in Texas and other states as evidence.

This week, pushback against Common Core included a call for a national “Don’t Send Your Kids to School Day” on Monday. And last week, U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan drew ire when he was quoted as dismissing Common Core critics as “white suburban moms who — all of a sudden — their child isn’t as brilliant as they thought they were

Did a delivery bright and early . Home at 10:00 AM after doing a quick stop at the grocery store. If nobody f@(%s with me for two or three weeks I might be able to catch up with everything on my list. Highly unlikely. Well, I can't get anything done sitting here. Might as well do something.

Like the words nigger or nigga, many consider the name cracker, cracka or redneck a badge of honor. It all depends if you want to get pissed off or not. You can call someone an asshole but don't call them an ASSHOLE. See?

Sleepy Tuesday... slept like a rock, woke up at 1:28, still awake an hour later - woke back up at 6:45ish... alarm is set for 8... something's gotta give... On the other hand, I've discovered Mountain Dew's Kick Start drinks - 80 calories, tall can, punch or orange flavor, 100% vitamin C - gets you moving! probably not good for me - but if it gets me up off my ass.....
I'll have that before going to the gym tonight, but for now i"m having to stay on my hiney - nothing to work on at work - makes for a long day.

too much caffeine late in the day? Maybe some soothing music.....or you need to try this....ASMR or the Autonomous Sensory Medium Response method. These videos are designed to trigger a perceptual phenomenon characterized as a distinct, pleasurable tingling sensation in the head, scalp, back or peripheral regions of the body in response to visual, auditory olfactory and or cognitive stimuli.

It's the tomato sauce from the pizza, the cheese is a good source of calcium and the crust is loaded with carbs. Then there is health benefits of beer. The carbonation aids digestion. The water content flushes the kidneys. Of course you're doing fine, except for all that fiberglass dust you've been breathing .......

I been preaching "The Benefits of Beer" for a long time.

I was hoping that the Doc would say "You are allergic to sanding, you have to quit immediately." , no such luck.

There was fiberglass dust in the sandwich I just finished.

I need to carry on

I installed the latch assembly in the door and the striker in the body but shutting the door screws the gaps up.

Guess if I painted it and used duct tape it wouldn't look so good.

I need some serious DNBFS.

50 years ago late 60's was considered old. Today it's much later. 60 somethings are quite active. The wonders of medicine, diet and activity I guess. Each decade I survive I count my blessings. Inching closer to 60 day by day. A little over a year and a half to go. Seems like only yesterday I was a young, spry, family man. Now I'm an older, spry, semi-family man. I keep family and friends close but not too close.

The crickets in that video are cool, makes me feel like I've left my windows open... watching him dust that car with that brush is boring enough to put me to sleep, however.... he better quit or he'll scratch it...
If he's got that much time on his hands he can come clean my Vette lol....
I remember when a friend of mine turned 25 and I thought "damn she's OLD"... then I hit 30, then 40 - now at 45, I FEEL old...

The word cracker
Cracker, sometimes white cracker or cracka, is a derogatory term for white people , especially poor rural whites

Like the words nigger or nigga, many consider the name cracker, cracka or redneck a badge of honor. It all depends if you want to get pissed off or not. You can call someone an asshole but don't call them an ASSHOLE. See?

But don't you say it Tommy or you are a raciest.

lol

That's not the definition of a raciest today.

A raciest is anyone who disagrees with Obama.

Just ask Oprah, Robert Redford or Al Sharpton.
