Good morning gang.

If you hadn't heard or read yesterdays post Lauren Bacall has passed away. She was 89.

Not much happening this morning. Should be a cool day with plenty of sunshine and temps in the mid 70's.

Word of the Day Wednesday, August 13, 2014

1.an ardent longing, as for something lost.

Desiderium comes from the Latin verb dēsīderāre meaning "to long for; require." It entered English in the early 1700s.

Howdy! My first thought this morning was "WTF is the alarm clock ringing on a Saturday?" This was quickly followed by "Oh, it's not even CLOSE to Saturday." Meanwhile, it looks like another nice day will be wasted indoors today. But I'll be on my way to the golf course about this time tomorrow morning.

Have a good day, yawlz!

Interesting day yesterday. I had interactions with lots of people we know, which is not my norm. Did a few things for people that I didn't have to do, (pat self on the back) but as always, it feels good to do things for people especially when you don't have to. Today if all goes well I can return to my self imposed day of working in solitude. I get more done if it's just me. I don't slow myself down unless I sit in front of the computer. I have a ton of stuff waiting for me. I can be busy for weeks. Every time I get close to catching up something always turns the tide and twists the chore list against me. Florida winters are my friend. They slow the grass and foliage growth to half or more. That leads to me having more time because only half the maintenance is required. Busy social calendar this weekend. Saturday is brunch at the MIL/FIL's synagogue and Sunday we have 5 couples that are good friends of ours joining us for brunch here at the house. Just gonna hang out, shoot the breeze and walk back and forth to the food table. Better get cracking. Daylight is burning and tonight is game night.(Dinner and board game with the neighbors at our house this week) Bye, bye, bye ..........

Budgetary concerns, high standards, explanation of new rules, expectations of the new leadership.

Somebody once said the happiest people are the ones who help other people....words to live by I'm thinking...

Another perfect morning here in the great plains....50's for temps no wind and sunshine....wish I could bottle this up for when the blizzard is howling....

The season is winding down here and after the rains we recieved our crop scouting jobs got a lot easier. Yesterday I let the help handle the work while I stayed in office and worked and then had a nice nap....sometimes its good to be the boss....

Still waiting for my splash guards for the front of the GS. Been a month now since I ordered....not happy!

Have a great day Guru's....keep moving forward....

Today is the first day that there won't be light gray dust all over my jeans............

But there will be a light gray slurry mix of gray and water all over my shoes.

Wet sanding is sloppy.

But wet sanding is better than dry sanding.

But it's still sanding.

I did get the part number/build date stencil for the frame in the mail yesterday. But I don't remember what new parts I have and what new parts I need for the chassis.

What's so hard about working your hand back and forth ?

I'm sure Tommy learned that at a very young age.

Not young enough.

I was actually thinking I could fly out and help you for a several days. To fly back and forth and have some money to invest in the Reno slots I figured would only cost me around $1500 to lend you a hand. I came up a little short.

How's it going gurus?

Pretty slow day for me. It's nice to be on vacation and forget about work for a week.

I'm enjoying this nice Fla sunshine here in Daytona.

Take it easy.... I will be.

Well, the meetings were everything I expected......

Marcus, I did take a suggestion from you and got the Corvette out and set it out near the highway the last couple days. I've had a couple phone calls and today looks like I might have a serious suitor. I've got my fingers crossed.

I might have to take a quick trip to Dallas this weekend, if that's possible (10 hours on the road each way). But if I sell the Corvette, the other one I'm looking at is between here and there......

Sooooooo..........found out that 600 wasn't going fast enough, switched to 400 wet. Got the doors, hood and small parts done (5 hours non-stop). Body tomorrow.

Then found out I still gotta do 600 with ANOTHER guide coat.

Damn primer feels like glass now.

But I forgot what color I'm going to paint it.
