Good Morning CGs!

Kiddies are still sleeping but I have to get them up soon and ready for school. Wifey is at work today which is good because it's been tight the past few months with her not working. Oh well.

I know we were having problems posting yesterday, but not sure why. If you can't post, try using the "quote" feature from a previous post and piggyback off of that. Seems to work for some reason.

In my toolbox search I happened to come across another brand that coincidentally is warehoused here in IL. This is actually a good grade box (got great reviews on garage journal). A little out of my price range, but I will have to save some pennies and dimes, I guess:

http://www.strictlytoolboxes.com/extr ... ol-cabinet-top-chest.html

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Tumongola yawara and Happy Friday! Glad it is finally here. It's gonna be sunny and near 80, so I drove the economy car (Vette gets much better mileage than truck). That is quite a toolbox, Matt - it costs more than my first several cars combined.

Have a great day, Gurus!

Don't forget the Gas Springs on the top for easy opening.

Wonder if it has an optional remote?

Good morning gang.

Day off and slept in.

Looks like a nice day here temps in the lower 70's and plenty of sunshine.

Word of the Day Friday, September 26, 2014

bibliophobe \ BIB-lee-uh-fohb \, noun;

1.a person who hates, fears, or distrusts books.

Origin:
Bibliophobe comes from the Greek biblion meaning "book" and phóbos "fear."

Today is NATIONAL PANCAKE DAY

The table is set, the batter is mixed, the griddle is hot, the butter and syrup are ready and so is everyone, ready to celebrate National Pancake Day. This food holiday is celebrated each year on September 26.

You may not have time to make a pancake breakfast but that is okay, pancakes make a great dinner as well.

Pancakes can actually be served at any time and with a variety of toppings or fillings some of which are jam, fruit, syrup, chocolate chips or meat.

****There is archaeological evidence that suggests that pancakes are probably the earliest and most widespread breakfast food eaten in prehistoric societies.

Pancakes are also known as flapjacks or hotcakes.

To celebrate National Pancake Day, enjoy one of the following “tried and true” pancake recipes:

http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/20 ... lemon-blueberry-pancakes/

http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ty ... -butter-recipe/index.html

NATIONAL PANCAKE DAY HISTORY

Within our research, we were unable to find the creator of National Pancake Day, an “unofficial” national holiday.

NATIONAL JOHNNY APPLESEED DAY

September 26, we celebrate National Johnny Appleseed Day. This is the day that we honor the legend of Johnny Appleseed and his kind, generous and interesting life that we have learned of.
”John Chapman (September 26, 1774 – March 18, 1845) was an American pioneer nurseryman who introduced apple trees to large parts of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois, including the northern counties of present day West Virginia.” (Wikipedia)
Johnny was a settler that followed the movement and traveled west. As Johnny Appleseed traveled, he planted apple trees along the way. He would tell stories to the children and spread The New Church gospel to the adults, receiving a floor to sleep on for the night. Johnny Appleseed also had a great love for animals. Because of his kindness, his generous ways, his leadership in conservation and the symbolic importance he attributed to apples, he became an American legend while he was still alive.

————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————–
Johnny Appleseed Day is celebrated on either March 11th or September 26th. The September date is Appleseed’s acknowledged birth date. whereas the March date is sometimes preferred because it is during planting season. There is also some controversy and vagueness concerning the date of Appleseed’s death and his burial.
—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
National Johnny Appleseed Day is celebrated in many elementary schools across the country.

I hate sad news... but I must share...

Our beloved kitty, the internationally known GabbyKat, passed away yesterday at the ripe age of 18.

She had been getting weaker and more frail over the last few months, but things turned real bad on Tuesday and Wednesday... It short, it was her time.

Alrighty....Good night to be a Bronc. The boys out it to one of our rivals 54-20. They scored last play of the game against our JV.

And what about those ROYALS? Cliched a playoff spot. We can still win the division if Detroit loses two more. They lost tonight to the twinkies.

thank you all for the kind words regarding GabbyKat.

Yes, my mom and I adopted her at the pound in March of 1996. Short of about 3 months when she was still in DE and before we brought her to CA, I have spent pretty much every day with the kitties... so yes, it's a huge adjustment.

She was a real talker, too, hence the name... Gabby. She earned it!

A pic from Nov 2011 and one from April 1996!!!
