Good morning gang.

Welcome to spring. Spring officially arrives at 6:45pm.

Starting of with snow rain mix and nasty roads. Should clear up today with highs in the upper 40's to low 50's.

On with today.

Word of the day is anthesis.

Today is NATIONAL RAVIOLI DAY

National Ravioli Day is celebrated each year on March 20th. As one of the food holidays, it is very popular with all pasta lovers.

Ravioli are a traditional type of Italian filled pasta, made up of a filling, sealed between two layers of thin egg pasta dough, and are usually served in either a broth or with a pasta sauce. The fillings can vary, per recipe, and may include meat, cheese, vegetables or seafood. While searching for ravioli recipes, you will also find ones that are available for dessert ravioli.

Ravioli can be homemade or may be purchased fresh or frozen in grocery stores. In the United States, Chef Boyardee popularized the canned ravioli. This ravioli is filled with either beef or processed cheese and served in a tomato, tomato-meat, or tomato-cheese sauce. St. Louis, Missouri is where the toasted ravioli got its start.

As a popular appetizer, ravioli is served breaded and deep fried.

Enjoy the following “tried and true” ravioli recipes:

To celebrate, enjoy some ravioli with friends and family!

NATIONAL RAVIOLI DAY HISTORY

Our research was unable to find the creator and the origin of National Ravioli Day, an “unofficial” national holiday.

NATIONAL NATIVE HIV/AIDS AWARENESS DAY

Many groups across the United States, such as the CDC and the National Native Capacity Building Assistance Network are working in coordination by putting out press releases, displaying posters, and holding community events for the annual March 20th, National Native HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. These groups hope to raise awareness of the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

Each year, on National Native HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, the communities of the American Indians, Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiians:

encourage Native people to get educated and to learn more about HIV/AIDS and its impact in their community;
work together to encourage testing options and HIV counseling in Native communities; and
help decrease the stigma associated with HIV/AIDS.

Ahmiak!

Semi-sunny out there again today, so I drove the Vette. I must be experiencing anthesis, as my stamen is quite mature.

Have a great Friday, Gurus!

Morning guys....A cool start this morning, supposed to warm up to low 70's. Spring break is nearly over. Where did the week go? Working on a few things out in the shop, need to go look at a computer and should change out the brakes on GS car. Busy day ahead, if I get it all done.

Brad, I think your bragging there. Mines mature, just doesn't stand up like it used to.

Last night a friend was driving home from the gym and listening to a sports call-in program carried by WGN in Chicago on SIRIUS.

People were calling in, very upset, about the goat's head that was sent to Cubs owner Tom Ricketts at Wrigley Field.

Then some guy called in from here in Oklahoma and said, Why are you people so upset 'cause someone sent a goat's head to Wrigley Field? Aren't you Chicagoans the same guys that sent a horse's ass to the White House?"

I'm sure glad you people from the future (eastern time zones) are here to warm up the forum every morning.

I've never heard of aids, what are those? I think we had them in elementary school.

My dad called me last night all shook up, apparently he borrowed my bro's Duramax and took it to the car wash before returning it... the car wash guy apparently hit the gas instead of the brake and plowed a few cars, damaged the carwash, and sent a worker to the hospital, and totalled the truck. Oh boy I'd love to have seen that happen.

Another reason to avoid valet or anything resembling it. If it's not slowing down, maybe think before pushing harder on the pedal. I made that brain fart once actually a few months after I first got my license, and figured it out right when it happened, just before driving through a fence. But it made it clear to me how it can happen. It's like how you write your name down a million times, you're bound to get it wrong at least once. Or when you put the milk in the cabinet and the cereal in the fridge.

My middle daughter did that once. We pulled in the drive, behind the Suburban sitting in the garage, she wasn't slowing down enough to suit me, and I said calmly, "step on the brake", she pushes the gas peddle down. A little more 'less calm', "step on the BRAKE". Further to the floor, "STEP ON THE DAMN BRAKE"....crash, right into the back on the Sub. Didn't hurt the Sub, but wiped the fender of the S10 Blazer. "I thought I was stepping on the brake." No, the brake slows you down and stops you, the gas peddle makes you move and go faster."

NEW Wine for Seniors

California vintners in the
Napa Valley area,
which primarily produce
Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir,
and Pinot Grigio wines,
have developed a new hybrid grape
that acts as an anti-diuretic.

It is expected to reduce the number
of trips older people have to make
to the bathroom during the night.

The new wine will be marketed as PINO MORE

Four to six inches of snow today ...

... two weeks until Route 66 Version III, code-named "Slow 66".

Second floor gut is almost done - turned on the fancy new Carrier Infinity Greenspeed HVAC today. Hooked it up to the WiFi. Observed that it can bring temperature up really quickly. We hope to "move" back upstairs at the end of next week.

We are, but we're heading south through Joplin, not west. I haven't forgotten about you but I'm also mindful that it will be Easter morning and you may have obligations.

The timing is just where our 20th wedding anniversary happens to fall ...

Is that a multi-zone unit? I'm thinking about some multizone mini splits for my house remodel.. not cheap but nice to not have to run the entire floor or entire house. I checked out a fujitsu the other day and the outdoor coils are so quiet, impressive.

It was so beautiful here today, I spent most of the day outside. Worked in the shop for a while, with the doors open. Then went down to school in the auto shop and put new brake pads on the GS car. Changed the oil and rotated the tires, again with he doors wide open. Then came home and washed, clay barred, polished and waxed the Cadillac. All outdoors or with the garage door open. All the fresh air has made me tired.

It can be set up to do true multi-zone. In this case we are multi-zone by necessity, not by design. Our second floor was unfinished and had no HVAC when we purchased it. Here's Carrier's information:
