Good Morning CGs!

Not much going on here. Work today but then I'm off for a couple. Have Father's Day off so that's nice.

MIL's surgery supposedly went well. I haven't talked to her yet, she was in pain yesterday and went home to sleep. My wife was with her at the hospital. I will see her after work today.

Is anyone on here a machinist? Just curious. I am selling off all of my dad's old toolmaker tools and wondered if anyone is interested. I have 100 pics on photobucket, but these are mostly machining specific items. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Morning guys...tried to sleep in but woke at my normal time and couldn't go back to sleep. So, I'm up. Thinking seriously about not going out to the shop today. I need to learn how to get away from it. Don't know how that will work but we're going to see.

I believe that I'm going to get the Corvette out and start doing some prep work for our vacation. Get it good and clean then put a coat of Rejex on it.

Supposed to be hot today, 100-102, so staying in the shade will be important.

Glad your MIL came through OK, Matt.

WHEN I RETIRED FROM THE VA IT TOOK ME QUITE A WHILE TO QUIT WAKING UP AT 0530 EVERY MORNING. HABIT IS A STRONG FORCE.

DON'T WORRY ABOUT OVERINDULGING IN THE SHOP, ETC. JUST GO WITH THE FLOW AND DO WHAT YOU ENJOY. OVER TIME NATURE WILL TAKE IT'S COURSE & YOU WILL FIND YOUR OPTIMAL PACE.

Yep......gonna get hot today and I got to go haul fertilizer to crazed farmers who are busting their asses to get done before the next rain on Monday....or the corn grows to tall.....

Tee...tell me about Rejex.....I'm thinking of getting some and don't know which product to use....I will get from Amazon......

I think you will need to set hours just like you would a job Tom.....which sounds nice but when self employed it is hard to relax when there is work to be done and there is always work to be done.......so you just have to get tired of it and go do something fun....or different anyway.....

Gotta go.......stay cool Guru's....

Greetings!

I think Mrs. Pianoguy has filled my agenda with landscaping duties. Oh, joy! That should do wonders for my golf game tomorrow.

Tom, I can tell you that becoming a jedi sleep-in master takes diligence, focus and effort, but I am confident that you can do it.

Good to hear your MIL's surgery went well, Matt.

Enjoy your Saturday, Gurus!

Good afternoon, all.

Sounds like good news, Matt.

What's left of tropical storm Bill will hit this evening, so all outdoor work for the weekend has to get done today. This morning, we went to my parent's house to see my two year old nephew and his parents. Afterwards, we got a bunch of plants for Ivelis' latest redo of the front yard. She managed to break the pitchfork, so I went and got her a new one while I was doing some other errands.

Now, I'm out in the back with the 1985, taking a look at it as I begin to prepare it for a car show three months away in mid-September. It hasn't been shown seriously in two years, so I'll be removing some of the "hardening" I did to prepare it for the Lincoln Highway trip last year and bringing it back towards pure stock.

The cruise party is over ....... at least for the next two months. I have two home parties between now and August 23rd (our next cruise). We have a 4th of July thing going on and my 60th B-day later in July. It was not as hot and humid on the islands as it is here at home. Homestead is steamy.

Welcome back to reality, Tommy! Reality for me included hauling boulders and rock, and planting some perennials. Time for a frosty beverage.

Well, thanks guys for the comments on my work habits. I'm sure that I will fall into a routine.

Today I spent about 3 hours cleaning 007. Gave it a good coat of Rejex. It makes the surface so slick, things just don't stick to it. Cleaned the interior and treated the leather to leather cleaner and conditioned it as well. It makes the inside smell fresh and like new leather. Checked things all over fluid-wise and I think it is ready for the vacation haul. Actually packed a few things in there, a couple ponchos and umbrellas. Started making a list of things we need to take.

Marcus here's the stuff http://www.amazon.com/Corrosion-X-610 ... -1&keywords=rejex+car+wax

Drove over to the "city" to pick up a few things for the shop and weekly grocery shopping. Tonight we will go out to a benefit supper to eat. It goes to support a memorial scholarship fund for a student who was killed four years ago. The family does sand volleyball tourney and there are several places to eat as well, all giving the proceeds to the fund.

Our priest is on vacation, so no Saturday church, we'll go in the morning.

Good evening gang.

Worked today. Looks like I'm working tomorrow too.

Get well Mojo to your MIL Matt. Glad things went well.

TB your not suppose to work harder on retirement.

I think I got a good deal yesterday. I picked up a solid top for the vette. It's from an early 86 so it fits like a glove. Paid $200 for it. It needs to be cleaned up.

Have a good evening gurus. Check in later.

I know I'm not, Mike. But always in the past my summers were so full I had to work Saturdays, Sundays and evenings just to get things done before school started again. My mind is still in those terms. I've got to change that mindset.
