Good Morning CGs!

So the interesting "theory" I heard on the radio this morning is that some historians believe that Columbus never had ships name the "Nina" and "Pinta". Apparently all ships were named after saints (ie, Santa Maria). The historians believe that Pinta was puta, a nickname that means whore in Portugese and Nina was a nickname for the ships owner, Juan Nino. No idea if any of that is true, you know how some "historians" try to rewrite history. I guess if there's no 600 year old guy around to dispute you, take it with a grain of salt...speaking of that, Tommy, what did they call them when you rode on them?

Don - car looks really nice in the photos from yesterday.

Tommy - hope you catch your guy.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Morjes!

Now that the Vette is put away, it'll be time to give the truck some TLC, Gotta change the oil, rotate the tires and give it a buff and shine. All so it can get pelted with salt and slush all winter. Yesterday was delightful, got up to about 86 and broke a record. Today it might get to 60, and we'll have 25-40mph wind. Perhaps it'll blow my leaves into my neighbor's yard.

Have a good day, all!

Slept pretty good last night as compared to the previous two nights. Tightening up the security at the nursery with some repairs and three new cameras to replace the ones with fuzzy pictures. Working on some ideas to make it tougher to steal our stuff. These mother@(%~rs are always waiting in the wings. When it comes to professional thieves, if they want it, they'll figure something out. And that's gonna keep me busy. They messed me up. It will take a little while for me to return to normal. Well, normal for me.

WE'VE HAD AN EXACT REPLICA OF THE NINA AT THREE RIVERS HARBOR ON THE ARKANSAS. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE FROM THE ORIGINAL IS BRAZILIAN HARDWOOD RATHER THAN PORTUGUESE OAK. IT WAS BUILT USING THE TECHNIQUES AND TOOLS OF THE ERA. IT WAS TOTALLY FASCINATING. SO SMALL ITS HARD TO BELIEVE THAT THIS CLASS OF BOAT CROSSED THE ATLANTIC AND WENT AROUND AFRICA TO INDIA. SAILORS WERE BRAVE MEN IN THOSE DAYS! DON'T KNOW IF THEY ARE STILL TOURING IT, BUT IF YOU GET A CHANCE GO SEE IT; IT'S A REAL EYE OPENER ABOUT THE WAY THINGS WERE.

ANOTHER FINE DAY COMING UP IN THE NATIONS, NO COLD FRONT YET.

We were just offered seats at the Homestead NASCAR race in November. What do you think I said? ....... I said we'd be happy to go Friday night to the Camping World trucks or Saturday night for the Nationwide but I really don't want to go for the Sunday Sprint Cup race. That's a 14 hour day and I really don't want any part of it. The other two days are much easier access and smaller crowds. Guess it just shows I'm getting too old for that $#!+.

What a weekend that was. I went to Eldora for some sprint car action on Saturday (3 1/2 hour run). Across 3 classes of sprint cars we had 126 race cars ! The show wound up with 14 heat races, 1 dash, 4 B-Mains, and 3 A-Mains. And all the while, the cameras were at home napping. A very well run show,I was on my way out of the track at 10:30 and home at 2:15. Sunday was wash the 'vette and recover day.

Back in the salt mine today. Lots of work going on.

Hardly, I don't go to races to watch, don't recall sitting in a grandstand in the last 20 years.

But my days at the track usually run about 12 hours.

hey guys....Busy day tearing old cabinets out at the daughters' house. Lovely wife helped out all day, along with my #2 GS (no school today- teacher inservice....glad I wasn't doing that!) Some repair work to the floor, a little electrical work and a little plumbing, I hate f*@king plumbing. I'm thinking I will start hanging some cabinets tomorrow. Lovely wife and GS are back at work and school tomorrow, so progress will be much slower.

I hope that your investigation is reaping rewards Tommy. Sounds like you are beefing up the fort from future attacks. LOL at our wife Gris, bet that surprised her!
