2014 Memorial Day Car Show Winner!

Good morning gurus....Praise the lord! I figured I'd get this started before we leave.
It's a cold start to this Christmas morning. We have a 2 3/4 to 3 hour drive this morning to Rosie's dad's place. Should get there in good time to help get stuff ready for the rest of the family at lunch. Weather people are still saying the possiblity of a major storm starting tomorrow and going through Monday. We are scheduled to come home on Monday, so we'll see how that goes. I wish all of my guru friends a very Merry Christmas. Safe travels for those on the roads this holiday weekend. |

We awoke to a winter wonderland this morning which made it all just right. I got up and got a fire going in the fireplace while Uwoman started breakfast......Just us and Uboy here now with the girls showing up later next week......so we have an extended Christmas this year..... No Corvette-specific gifts yet, but Ivelis did score me four more Hallmark ornaments—red 2015 Ford Mustang GT fastback, gold 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am coupe, orange 1970 Mercury Cougar Eliminator hardtop coupe, green 1957 Chevrolet 1300 step-side truck. We now need more ornament trees ...
... I had to put Lauren up on the lift so we'd have room for my friend Adam's Honda Fit later today, so I took advantage of the warm weather and drove her for about a mile—some unexpected Christmas fun. I'm bringing my parents over Christmas dinner in about half an hour. |

Merry Christmas to you all and hope all traveled safely. Was 70 and sunny here yesterday, 60 with sun today. Small family gathering for me but wonderful, fine food and thoughtful gifts. After took food and gifts to nursing home for her that went well too . Her bird chirp click had quit so now she has a new one. Later me and BF swapped gifts, he liked his and I cried when I opened mine. Got a 65" Corinthian Belks wind chime in red I've wanted for ten years. Yup he's a keeper. Probably the best Christmas I've had in a long time and not necessarily to do with the gifts .
Side note ... You know you're dating a mechanic when he wraps your gift and runs short of paper and finishes with duct tape... Cracked me up, bless his heart I tried to upload a photo but it wouldn't let me |

Hey guys, been a good day here. Made it here in less than the 2 3/4 hours due to no traffic early Christmas morning. Got to the hall dad rented about the same time as he and one BIL. Got things set up and before long the rest of the clan was here and it was time to eat. After we ate my little brother and his wife showed up and visited with them for about 2 1/2 hours. In the meantime, a friend from high school showed up so visited with them for an hour or so, then it was time to eat again. We are now just visiting and planning the cleanup.
Been cool today but the big weather storm they were predicting, appears to be sliding to the south some. Looks like we are going to miss the biggest portion. Won't hurt my feelings any if that happens. Have a great rest of the holiday weekend . |
