Another thread got started, where you're told up front by the mod that if you bitch, you get banned.
Some guy is making flyers for CF, and he just doesn't get it that they're a for profit orginization. He's giving them free advertising.

Guess the moderator who posted this; (or look it if, I gave enough clues)

can't speak for GM but as long as you are not using it to promote the event as a CF event and just handing out flyers etc you are good to go.

next person who posts anything about "ads and IB" will be taking time off.

Either you like the flyer or you don't....if you have suggestions post 'em.

The continued whining complaining and shots at IB and ads on this site are really old. Its over and done....get over it

it doesn't offend... what does is that someone is spending good time volunteering for a corporate entity. What's next, people voluntarily handing out flyers for Exxon? How about Wal-Mart?

As for the mod? Gee... I am guessing cor07vette.

Well, for the last two years I have been putting a little laminated placard promoting CF, on my windshield while on Power Tour.

This year, I'll be making one up promoting the Guru! :thumbleft:
If that's ok

I'm guilty. I still have my little Corvette Forum window decals on the Vettes. Maybe I'll cover them with those little international symbols for NO. You know, the circle with the slash through it. Or I'll just scape them and my SCCA decals off and let my windows go naked.

The only thing I ever saw CF as was a medium for corvette owners and enthusiasts to get together on and chat about their common interests, Corvettes. That is the same way I see this site. I normally don't have any interest in the drama, or the bitching. Over the years, CF has become more of a circus than anything else. Now it’s nothing more than a medium for various corporations to advertise through, and place shotty venders can sell their shitty products to newbies that don't know any better. (That comment not being directed to all venders of course). I had no problem promoting CF in the past because it was my way of meeting new people. To me it’s nothing more than a huge chat room. Since things have changed I feel differently. But what I can tell you is that I am GURU Loyal and have no problem promoting this site. Been a couple weeks now, and I haven't used

If you read between the lines in that thread, you can see that it has been HEAVILY edited by the mods. Those A$$wipes are out of control over there. They are not hesitating to remove anything that is in any way derogitory toward CF or Internet Brands. What a bunch of tools!!!

If the knucklehead wants to waste his time let him.

To be honest if it werent for the people Ive met or forums in general I wouldnt even consider owning one. To me its more about the people than the car . Once I realized that I figgered "sell". I can still use the phone and get more accomplished.

You're in Costa Rica? What part?

BTW, you know I'm not promoting that place anymore.

I can fill you guys in a little on why they don't want some promotion.

According to the original owner(and now the new ones), no event can be CF sanctioned just in case something happens, they can't get the blame.

We used to use CF when we promoted an event and the past, but were told not to at some point.

Things have changed a lot and for the worst, and for once I'm glad to be on this side. It's much safer.

Oh, man, Frank. that's insane.

They don't want their name attached to events... you know that that means??? NO INSURANCE. Nada. None at all.

The solution? The Guru will have sponsored events. Sure it will... And you had better behave.

I suspect that the burnout contests in the hotel parking lots pushed them over the top... or the burnout contests at the Old Mill...

Never mind my origianl question. I saw who the mod is....figures

BTW, it is a nice flyer. We have one for our state forum as well that we hand out at various shows and events. It's a nice way to let people know you're around

The only reason I'm not on board with it is the fact that it's CorvetteForum...plain and simple.

Pissed with the mods and admins actions and attitudes and refuse to support it! I won't do anything to damn it over there, but I won't have anything to do with it either.

$hit Frank, the "forum" has been the focal point of the cruise in's for years. Even though the museum actually hosts and sponsors it, it's allways been billed as the CF cruisein.

Andy, if you're planning on "hosting" anything, you need to look into event insurance. Otherwise, if anything goes seriously wrong, you'll be pimpin' a Hyundai when it's over
