Short version of my 2016 IRS story. I told Sue we have to find out how much to put aside to pay the taxes for 2015. She called our accountant right away and I overheard in the conversation a figure of over 18k being discussed. To myself I thought I knew it was going to be expensive but this is way more than I expected. We sold the rental house last year and capital gains was due on the sale. Turns out they were talking some figures on her business account and the 18k figure had nothing to do with our personal. When I did get the figure for our payment it was easier to take since it was considerably less than the 18k figure I thought it was going to be. Still, our share was enough to buy a C4 driver. lol

Greetings! Nice, relaxing day at the office - no yard work. Sunny for now, but it may rain later. I drove the Vette anyway - running with scissors!

Yeah, I always love sending the IRS enough for a car, makes me feel very patriotic. Or something.

Morning all.......because of those lovable money losing large cars we got a bunch of money back from the IRS again this year......wasn't quite the business plan I had in mind but whatever works right?

Brad I see they are about done with the new downtown Billion dollar home of the Vikings....that must be quite a place.....wow.....and the twinks won a series this weekend.....so they are on there way now.....

Rained all night and still going so I will work in office today getting things caught up.....or may take a nap.....

THE MOWER HAD A FLAT TIRE SATURDAY, SLOW LEAK, I AIRED IT UP AND IT DIDN'T GO DOWN WHEN I MOWED. GOT TO PULL OFF THE WHEEL AND GET IT FIXED. BUT NOT IN THE RAIN. FLOOR SPACE IN THE BARN IS ALL OCCUPIED AT PRESENT :-/

Been busy with family stuff. Already got my tax refund, already spent. Not to say I didn't pay a good amount anyway.

Taxes have been done for a while here too. Owed the state got refund from Uncle Sam.

Hey guys...another early start and found some issues right away. I wish that people would talk to me before they order cabinets. The "designer" at the box store screwed up royally. One cabinet is 3" too long, another is the wrong type...or else the counter top is the wrong style. The corner 'lazy susan' should have been an angled front, what we got was a right angle front. No big deal, but the counter top is designed for the angled front. The upper cabinet that is 3" too long was a very rookie mistake. Also found a problem he overlooked. An electrical outlet down in the bottom of a cabinet. Electrician fixing that tonight, so I can finish up as much as possible. Not sure what is going to happen with the rest. More than likely, it won't be completely finished for the parents return home.

It was bright and shiny, but cool, never really warmed up either.
