Hey guys....hello from 10250 feet elevation. We left hot Kansas yesterday about 11am heading west to cool Colordao. We made it to our destination, Leadville, by the mid afternoon (time change involved here). Got settled in here with Rosie's sister, her hubby, Rosie's four brothes, their spouses and 6 adult children. It's a big house snuggled in the high mountain pines. One of the adult children's husband, asked if anyone brought our golf clubs, as he did and wanted to play. So SIL's husband and I went out with him this morning to play 18. The course claims to be the highest elevation course in the country, over 10K feet.

Yep, Leadville's at 10,000 feet, the mountain next door goes up to 14,500 feet. There is (or was) a Jeep trail going up to the top. It was one lane, humped in the middle with the tire tracks about 2 1/2 feet wide and BIG rocks on it that rolled off the mountain.

They used to (or still do) host a race on that trail, up the mountain. It was scary as shit,600 ft. dropoffs, the bikes wouldn't run right at the top.

I was pissed, only got second place, first place was only 20 feet ahead of me.

Still have the trophy downstairs.

Hidey-ho! The sun is a welcome addition after yesterday's gloom. We didn't get much rain here, but some areas of the state got over 11 inches. Umbrella sales were probably thru the roof.

Have a good day, yawlz!

Good Morning CGs!

Off today but had some errands to take care of early. I have my ENT appointment scheduled for 11:40 today. Hopefully that will resolve the non-hearing issue. It is pretty bad today. Not painful right now, just can't hear along with the constant ringing.

Constant ringing? Hey, that sounds like someone else I know....

Hope everyone has a great day!

Morning guys....Marcus, there was no stream runnning through the course, just several ponds. No beer in them as I did get to check a couple out. Bill, I don't think that they still have that race to the top. At least in all the literature I read, there is no reference to it. Lots of mountain biking and foot races though.

It's 38 this morning headed for a high of 68 this afternoon. We are waiting just a bit to go golfing and let it warm up a little. All this cool air is spoiling us. The majority of the crew left about 15 minutes ago to do a "flat hike" over towards and around the lake that is just a little ways from the house. Just the three of us left who golfed yesterday. The other two are doing things related to their jobs, glad I don't have to deal with that....Oh, wait, I had a phone call this morning from the tool repair place telling me they needed another part of the tool that I have in for repair. "You bet, I'll run it right over." NOT, they are in KC we are 650 miles from there right now, and I'm 250 away from the part they need. "I'll get it to you next week". Sleepus interuptus...

Brad, no one was supposed to notice that! Freaking fairway bunkers.....Played much better today, was a little more breezy than yesterday, but about the same temps, upper 60's. Feels warmer than that though.

Almost everyone has gone shopping in Silverthorn this afternoon (about 30 miles north). I'm thinking it might be a perfect time for a nap.
