I'm using xp and happy enough with that. Heck, I'd still have windows 95 if they didn't make us upgrade.

Seems the official release is on hold.

It has a built-in time Xomb that shuts down in June.

I'm testing it now

Well, that's too bad. Because beta is not bogged down with bloatware, malware, adware, spyware, underware, all those nasties that clog up ram and bog the CPU.

Although I AM seein' a little boggage in Linux here... (which could in all fairness be my lousy ISP (internet slo-poke). Windy day blows the smoke signals all over the place!

I blew up my laptop in China for work and they replaced it,,But the only option was Vista OS..No downgrade to XP was available...I'm getting used to Vista very Powerful OS,But I wish alot of the software I use was compatable...So far some have jumped on the Vista bandwagon but alot have not...Maybe they are just waiting for Windows to make up their mind ...

imho opinion, Vista is as crappy as XP, only in different ways. The same way XP was as crappy as Win 98/2000, but only in different ways. My prediction is that Windows 7 will be a less crappy version of Vista, but will still be as crappy as XP, only in different ways. That's the simplest way I can explain it, lol.

It would be great if all the detractors would present MS with examples of their OSs
so we could move out of the caverns and into the light. They could probably make
several hundred million dollars to boot.

The biggest thing I have against Vista is that I can't FIND anything! None of the programs are where they've been on all the old versions. It's like trying to drive a car with the gas and the brake reversed!

...and someone in the back seat tapping you on the shoulder, and saying,"Are you sure you want to start the car?"
"Are you sure you want to close the door?"
"Are you sure you want to roll the window down?"
"Are you sure you want to apply the brakes?"
"Are you sure that's an oak tree you hit?"

Installed the beta as an upgrade on my ThinkPad X300. The process went smoothly and 7 is significantly faster than Vista Service Pack 1.

I installed the beta on my desktop. I may actually have to take back what I said, after using it for a few minutes, it's not as crappy as Vista, yet. I'm actually really quite liking some of the new GUI features. It remains to be seen if performance will be any better. 1st impression is good so far.
