Good Morning CGs!

Well, we did get a little bit of snow last night. It had the drive slightly covered when I went to bed, but it's gone now so apparently the previous rain prevented it from sticking too long. News said it has made a good mess on the highways, though, so I'll be leaving a couple minutes early today.

What's on the agenda for everyone? Getting ready for the weekend?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Good morning! It was a balmy 4 degrees here this morning - hopefully this cold snap will be short-lived.

I successfully resurrected another dead hard drive last night using the super-secret technique that I must never speak of again. Maybe I'll go into the data recovery business :-P

Good morning! It's a little cool here today, not bad for Feb. Had some more bad storms come thru with high winds, etc.last night.
Hey johnny, that will be a good time for the kids. I've never been to the aquarium in Atlanta but my son and his wife and the grandaughter have several times. Have fun.

Today started out less than thrilling. I have a Firestone lifetime alignment on the Vette. The nearby Firestone store was managed by a Corvette buddy and they did good work for me. I called yesterday and made an 8AM appointment today for a check. Found my friend isn't there anymore, waited an hour to get to me, then they decided my car wouldn't clear the ramps on their lift (same lift it has been on at least 5 times in the past). I got them to refund my lifetime alignment $$ and they have permanently lost me as a customer. I do almost all my own work, except alignment and tire mounts and balances so I guess I will be looking for another shop for those. Meantime I can cross this Firestone shop off my list.

I was tired yesterday and I'm re-tired today. I had to bring my wife to the ER yesterday with swelling in redness in the left arm. They did the standard clot imaging tests and bloodwork. They believe it to be an infection so they gave her a shot in the ass and a prescription for a weeks worth of antibiotics. She went to our general practioner first and he sent her to the ER. Arrived about 4:30 PM and got out of there around 11:30 PM. That's not bad for an ER visit but I still hate going there. Looking at the cast of characters mulling around never ceases to amaze me. 2/3rds of the people including the staff were morbidly obese. I think the hormones that they give to cows and chickens were going right to these folks asses and thighs. A poor economy would be a good thing if it keeps these folks from eating crap. One big heffer was occupying a couch stuffing her face with a donut while she was waiting to be called. Remember..... you don't see too many fat old people. You see fat people and old people but not too many fat old people.

That being the case...... Central Coaster should live to 110.

Let's see what today has to offer ............

Yeah fat people got to get on some kind of diet. My dad who was fat is now only slightly fat but he went on a good diet and exercise plan and lost a lot of weight. Its all about motivation, if you got it then you can lose the weight. I wish this country would realize that an obese lifestyle is not a good one.

News says one killed, nine injured in central Ga last night. My wife is being assigned to 12 hr days in Newnan for the next week to help out (State Farm). Looks like a lot of wind and hail damage south of the airport and from Alabama line east nearly to SC.

It was pretty windy. I had to go outside and put my bike up on its stands to make sure it would not get blown over.

Ditto - close call!!

Tommy, I hope your wife is feeling better in a hurry! Going to the E.R. is just as entertaining as going to the laundromat back in the old days, I'm sure.

Thanks Brad. It cost a few more quarters to go to the E.R. too. Here's a point to ponder. If they call it urgent care, why does it take so long to get attention? Did you ever notice how many smiles you get when they know you have insurance? The snack machines are loaded with candy and salty treats sitting right next to a soda machine. You would think there of all places there'd be healthy alternatives and fruit juices. So I had some pretzels and a Lipton Iced Tea. Tasted good too. I was hungry.

I feel bad for them honestly. I eat all sorts of garbage. I never watch my diet, although I drink hardly any soda now, but lots of coffee to make up for it. Eating poorly will still make me unhealthy, and feel unhealthy, but no matter how bad I do I'll never be dragging a spare tire around as a consequence.

It amazes me how many fat people there are (like in my own family). I always said I would never get like that and I work hard to make sure I don't. Just being skinny doesn't make you healthy, though. A lot of skinny people have way out of control blood pressure, cholesterol, clogged arteries, etc. I'm not saying everyone has to be a workout and/or diet freak, but doing things in moderation is the key to being healthy and maintaining that lifestyle.

Tommy, I hope your wife feels better soon.
