Upon closer inspection, it looks like he actually DID have the wheels turned in the right direction...

He just forgot to let off the 150 shot of nitrous once out of the traps... Or maybe his chute didn't deploy.

The tire tread was obviously shallower than a pennies head. Or maybe low tire pressure, but probably the typical gapping hole in the plastic one ply.
