Played today in a cold rain. Paid a month ago to be in this tournament. How miserable it was. But I was focused and was determined to finish, even though my buddies bitch and moaned all day. Playing as much as possible before the damn grass starts growing and my saturday is spent doing yard work.

It'll be another good month before I think about swinging a club. I'm going to have to knuckle down this year - last year was the worst I can remember of the 43 that I've been playing. I don't think I even got 10 rounds in.

My Golf Rules:

1. Keep score by the number of balls you loose.
2. You get extra credit if your tee shot hits dead center on the golf cart of the guys waiting for you to get the hell out of their way and makes them bail. ( yes, I've done that)
3. There's a one beer minimum rule, one per two holes.
4. Animals and ducks on the course are moving targets.
5. So are course marshalls.
6. If you can neatly park the cart, in line with others at the end of your round, you didn't follow rule # 3.

A bad day golfing is better than a good day working.

We always brought an extra bag for the beer. And picked up lots of extra golfballs from the fringes of the driving range.

Being competitive is stressful. "Sean tee up another one and see if you can hit the green for that other hole."
