It's 15 others....

As many know, we have been dealing with my Mom as she not-so-gracefully ages... Dementia is a real bitch...

Late yesterday, I get a call from my sister-in-law, that my brother in FL, Paul, IS IN THE HOSPITAL!!! Ugh... acute and severe abdominal pain. Lovely.

You see, about 12 years back, he beat out colon cancer. But to do that required a resection... a couple of feet small intestine was removed.

Well... he had a blockage... But, thankfully, it was only scar tissue!!! They did surgery this morning and he expected to be back to normal within a week or so.

Whew...

Dodged that bullet...

If there's such a thing as good hospital news, that certainly qualifies!

that's the thing, Pappy, it hit FAST.

He was at his desk and POW - pain. lots of it.

They went straight to the hospital, shot of morphine, barium milkshake, MRI, another shot, next morning, surgery. Done.

I think we are looking at 24 hours from pain to recovery suite.

The same surgeon who worked on him 12 years ago did this procedure.

the latest and greatest.

He is doing very well. Should come home tomorrow.

I am heading out next Thursday and visit for a couple of days.

The actual problem wasn't so much scar tissue as adhesions from the last surgery. They removed the adhesions and things should now be ok. They did NOT have to perform another resection!

Thanks for all the support, gang. It really means a lot!
