Good Morning CGs!

Happy Friday to you all. My last day off then I'm back to work tomorrow, but I'll try to enjoy it. Wife is at work and then she's got a hair appointment, so I'm with the rugrat all day. Told the BIL to come over today early so I can get his brakes off. Apparently they are "grinding really bad and vibrating when I stop" - hmmmmm.....thanks for telling me last month. I'll have to see if we can cut the rotors. Hopefully they're savable, since that'll save up to $200 depending on how bad everything is. But since I guarantee he's still sleeping it won't be an early start like I prefer. Oh well.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Oh! Happy Day

What a great day to be alive. Sure beats the alternative.

My son and I are going to spend the day detailing. Whoo Hoo!
At least I have a helper.

Mornin' Matt and all!

Funny how when people find out you are a "car guy" that things need fixin' more.

I need to find someone that likes to work on houses that wants to come over and fix some things at my house in his spare time. ( )

We got some of my Corvette buddies from the club coming over on Sunday to hang out and perhaps walk across the street to the bar to sit and watch the boats come in and out while we partake in a few adult beverages.

Have a great weekend!

Greetings! I'm in a good mood this morning - I bought a stock a couple of days ago, and this morning it's up enough in premarket to more than pay for my engine, so the day is off to a good start.

Happy Friday, everyone!

Morning. I have to go work on a computer before the wife and I leave for KC, it's kind of a PITA but it helps keep me busy and I like the extra spending money. I have the Corvette loaded and ready to go.

We had some bad storms roll thru last night and a tornado south of town...not close and heading away from us but the fallout was pretty tough, quarter sized hail. I hope that the farmers didn't get hit too bad as we are just days away from what looked to be a nice wheat crop and around here we haven't had too many of those in the past several years. It's sunny this morning though. I have to get going here, Hopefully I'll check in tomorrow.

I believe BillH is your man, Don!

Had a hail storm here yesterday. Severe thunderstorm with tornado warnings blasted us pretty good. Pea sized hail mostly. A couple marble sized. Did not see any damage to the Lincoln, fortunately.

South side of Pueblo was not so fortunate. They got golf balls! That would really suck.

Need to get ready to go play with the animals at the zoo again today.

Cheers!

That's not funny, Chris. Today, please stand real close to the monkey cage, they like to throw stuff.
Anyway,......................Don, you're on your own.
Working on houses makes me

Humm, some of us have to do this, some of us get to go to the zoo, how's that fair?
Hopr you guys have more fun today than I'm going to.

If it's any consolation, I was awakened at midnight by the sound of a crying 5 year old. He gets cramps in his big toes sometimes... So that was half an hour. Then about 5:30 my old-as-dirt Dalmatian's bowels essploded in the hallway outside my bedroom door. Had to clean that up, pronto.

Been a helluva morning already, and my day hasn't even started yet!

My last weekday of vacation today, haven't done anything exciting all week. So I say this Friday kinda sucks, oh well thats life. Hey Tom, I watched all the storms on my laptop last night, good to see your personal domain came out OK. I have family in Richfield and Satanta and I always watch the weather up there.

Well I'm in a pissy mood right now. BIL hasn't even bothered to call me about the brakes, but according to my wife he's "coming over later". I told her too bad. Parts store said the rotors need to be there by 12 to get cut. So he's SOL.

Called Continental and spoke to three different people. Not one of them willing to help me. They basically told me to go shove it regarding the ticket change. So looks like I'll be taking a weekend trip to NY for no reason this August. It would have cost me $350 to change $590 worth of tickets and another $50 to change my $100 rental car. Moral of the story is never buy tickets without paying the extra bullshit trip insurance. I am not happy. I will never fly Continental ever again. They've lost a customer for life, which you'd think they would care about especially considering how the economy is and how airlines are dropping like flies. But they don't care.

Oh well. I'm gonna try to cut the front lawn if it's not too wet. Baby likes to sit in the stroller and look outside so it works out well.

Good morning, Gurus!

Sounds like a busy morning, already!

Matthew - that totally sucks about the plane tickets. I try and book with Southwest as much as possible. I've had the most luck with them and their Ticketless Funds program, especially when I did a lot of work travel.

Chris - re feeding the animals at the zoo...My mom and I used to do some volunteering at the LA Zoo, and one year I strung cranberries on banana leaf strands that they use to decorate the exhibits and the animals can snack on. Man, that was tough!

Well, I've already been to the CT scan people and back home already. I was early for my appt, and they took me right in, and I was out before my scheduled appt time.

Now I'm off to churn - I believe I will start with Nectarine Sorbet.

I'm not big on Continental either, Matt. I got stuck in Denver once when my flight got delayed from San Francisco, and they lost my luggage in the process, so I was stuck in 55 degrees with a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. They gave me a plastic bag with a comb, toothbrush, toothpaste and deodorant, and gave me a voucher for a hotel. When we got to the hotel, they refused the voucher since Continental had stiffed them in a bankruptcy some time before. Fun trip :-P
