Good Morning CGs!

Happy Father's Day!

I'm a little late this morning, but I actually slept in. We were sans baby last night and I got to sleep an entire night without waking up once. Wow that was nice. A very good friend of mine got married yesterday so we attended the wedding (actually, just the reception - pretty common with Polish weddings). It didn't ever start until 7 pm, though. We got there around 7:45 and stayed until about 1:00. Late night for an old man like me....lol. After a 45 minute drive home we were beat and pretty much passed right out.

I dumped an industrial sized vat of chemicals in the pool yesterday to get the chlorine and ph right and let the vacuum run all day. Should be good for today. I hope so since it's gonna be another hot one. I need to chop up a little more of the leftover deck (see yesterday's chat) and maybe I'll take a dip to cool off.

Anyone having family BBQs today?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Good morning! I got a lot done on the car yesterday, but have a few more hours of work to do - hopefully will be firing it up sometime this afternoon. I was creaking and groaning pretty good this morning - LOL! My sons will be here this afternoon, hope to get a BBQ in, but the forecast isn't looking real promising.

I'm taking all the visiting Nieces and Nephews to a real old fashioned swimmin' hole at the creek today to cool off. 11 kids 12 and under all together. Should be fun. Or interesting at the least.

Good Morning Gurus!

Happy Fathers Day!

Hope you get that engine buttoned up today, Brad.
Matt, if you are old, I'm so screwed.

Enjoy the day!

Good morning, Gurus!

Happy Father's Day to all the dads! =)

The cat got me up early again. Apparently she had coughed up a hairball and really felt the need to tell me about it.

Gonna try and get some work done today.

Since the wife is at some modeling thing, and took Reb with her, I planned to pull the 496 from the Chevelle today and drop a 383 in.

Nothing wrong with the big block, just looking to improve the drivability a bit. Personally, I think it drives fine, although two hours in LA traffic can be a bit much with it. The wife on the other hand, wants me to tame it down some.

I didn't quite get the 383 all back together yesterday, and not sure I want to get half way and leave the Chevelle immobile. So, I'm going to swap the holley for a Q-jet just to see if it drives any smoother. Still may pull the engine though.

Decisions, decisions...

So sorry for your loss, Pete.

I'm taking a little break while my oldest is manning the BBQ - so far the rain has held off. I just need to put the exhaust on, fill it up with coolant, install the battery and cross my fingers.

Well, I achieved my goal - we just got back from taking the Vette to the Dairy Queen! Started right up, haven't seen any leaks, temp maxed out at about 205. I'm gonna have to get used to the lumpier idle. I think my exhaust may be hitting my cross-frame - I think I jiggled something around when I had it off. Other than that, so far, so good.

Way to go Brad! I bet you're in hog heaven!
Pete Sorry to hear of your loss. Unfortunately it's a fact of life. I finished the cabinets at my in-laws this weekend. They are tickled pink to have their kitchen back. I have already gotten the pickup unloaded and washed. Rosie grilled some steaks for supper and now I'm trying to catch up on the emails from the last three days.

Here I am putting the first two base cabinets in.

And this one is the finished project.

Oh yea, I did go to the test and tune night at Great Bend dragway Friday night. Two weeks ago when I was back putting in the upper cabinets, my little brother said he was going to run his "bobber", well he had a nut on his clutch come loose and didn't get to run. So this past Friday he had his bike there and ran. I took a couple of shots.
This first one is of my little brother. He went 13.24/105 The bike has a lot more...not sure my brother does...

The next ones are of a couple of the cars that were there testing. This Camaro went 8.90s

This Camaro was running in the low 10s

And this raodster was in the 10's (but the driver was just trying to get his license...)

I have had a great day, grilled T-bones, yum. I received a new stereo for the vette from my two boys. Moderately priced but way better than the current one, it has the aux input for my MP3 player, yeah....no more cd's. It is already installed. Happy father's day everyone.

Great work, teebee - those cabinets look terrific!

I snapped a few pics during the process this weekend. The guy under the car is my brother-in-law, who stopped by to help me drop the engine in. Not many pics, as I was otherwise occupied :-P
