I know there's not much C4 race footage floating around so here ya go.....My closest competitor in PTA is the red 3/4 scale Nascar guy in front of me. The rest of the cars are either SU or ST1/2.

I won the race Saturday and this is Sundays race that ended w/ a rear diff failure. Click ahead to ~5 minutes for the start. Enjoy

Nice mirror sticker! You run in TTA too right? What made you go to A instead of staying lower in TTB? I've computed all my points and it looks like I'm good for TTB.

Congrats on Sat., Matt.
I've been to Mid-O many times but that was before I could afford to race.

I always want to run there and Elkhart and the Glen.

But I am blessed to have Laguna, Sears and ThunderHill all in one region.

Thanks Bill. Yeah, Mid Ohio's a great track but I think I would trade it for Laguna too.

Aardwolf, I run TTA, PTA and or ST2. I'll race ST2 if I don't have enough people in PTA for contingencies. TTA is the place to be in the Great Lakes Region. Plenty of C5Z's to pick on. I'm hoping that a few of them will make the leap to PTA once they get their cages installed.

You should come down for the August 14-15 Mid Ohio event. We'll have another big field of Corvette's. (15-20 in our race group)

I always wanted to go to Mid Ohio when my friend used to race Trans-Am, but was never able to make the trip - thanks much for the front-row seat!

Yea, everyone wants to run Laguna, for good reason, I like it a lot. But, IMO, after you've been thru the Corkscrew a couple of hundred times, the rest of the track is like any other good track.
The most exciting track for me is Sears Point, many places to run side by side and no real place to take a break like the tracks with longer straights. It takes total focus for the entire race.

Matt's being humble. He won Saturday with a car that was laying down a smokescreen with an oil leak. He would have won Sunday but this time when he started laying down the smokescreen with a different oil leak (rear diff) they pulled him in with a black flag.

Let's not forget the PTA track record he set in the race. Very impressive stuff. Several laps in he was still running within striking distance of the $100K ST2 cars with the big wings and million dollar shocks.

Too bad it's not a video of Saturday's practice, you could see me sitting in the infield with another broken car...it's a real shame, I was really looking forward to putting him on the lower podium step

Broken in practice beats the hell out of broken in the race, did you fix it & race?

Naw, it's a long story that I've told here many times before - sort of. Car ran like a raped ape last month at Grattan, I thought all of my ignition woes were behind me. I ran it briefly on Friday at Mid-Ohio. Saturday morning in practice it made it out of the pits and onto the infield at turn 2. I thought it was another chapter in the Optispark saga, and another small part of me died. I was sure those days were behind me with the steps taken during the rebuild in May.

I brought it home and did some troubleshooting Monday and Tuesday, it isn't the opti, it was a bad ignition line to the coil. I have no idea how it went bad so I'm going to go through all of the wiring this weekend, but the bottom line is that the car runs. I can't catch a break...

Matt, maybe the alternator issue you found last month fried it or something...

That sucks, Jon. Chasing that chit is frustrating.

There are quite a few reasons I run the class I do but a big one is: I have 3 wires going thru the firewall and that's it. Start sol, coil, tach output.

Thanks for the compliments Jon. You would have been right there with me if that da#** car of yours would run!

Good news that it's not another opti. The tach bouncing around should've had you troubleshooting at the track.....I can understand the cooler tugging on your arm though. I think we're both sick of working on these things.

Oh well, bring on the August event.
