We just got back from a nice street show in Hastings, MN - very cool to see so many old cars in one place:

Very nice. Glad to see so many dreams kept alive.

And you could have mini donuts, onion rings or cheese curds.

Brad, thanks for sharing. Your show had a lot more cars than the one I went to today. I have to admit that the 66 Hemi Coronet has to be my favorite. The 50 Olds has to be a close second.

The paint on that Coronet was about a mile deep - just gorgeous!

Whatta show!

Great pics... a few observations:

1. old pickup trucks need big blocks.

2. You really need a hotter flash!

Yeah, I'm gonna have to get me an external flash - I had my wide-angle lens on, and it partially blocks the flash, too.

Ah, cool. Check out the Canon flashes. Get the hottest they make.

I have a Nikon D200 and picked up a Nikon Speedlight SP800... it is so bright that I have to use a filter/diffuser. The upside to the diffuser is that it really softens the light and spreads it everywhere.

I will post some pics tomorrow that show the difference.

Back when I was just starting to drive, these were my first three cars.

1956 Chevy Bel Aire 2 door post 265 4bbl
1964 Dodge Polara 500 383 mag with a torqueflite 727
1964 Corvette coupe 350/250 (out of a 70 Chevelle) 4 speed.

I was a huge Mopar fan for many years. But when the gas crisis of the 70's hit I didn't think I could afford to drive the Dodge and that's when I bought the Corvette, it did about twice what the 383 mag did and without a penalty in performance. The 56 I don't and never did miss after I sold it. The Dodge....dang, I wish I still had it. And the Corvette, well that goes without saying.
