RIP Jerry Van Dyke
Seems that staring in 2016 we began losing all the greats...

and that auction page - ugh... the 70 Chevelle.... that's BF's fave. and just saw one go for enough I'd sell the vette and buy it.

temps were around 32 here today, still too cold for humans IMHO.
Y'all try to stay warm

Howdy! Another beautiful day here, sunny and -6. There are rumors that it could be 40 next week (that is +40), a little half-hearted January thaw. I'll take it. Better stock up on windshield washer fluid.

If I win the lotto today, I'll look at that link, Tommy.

Have a good day, all!

Morning guys....slept in this morning. It's chilly again to start, but headed to upper 40s. I can live with that.

Going to the 'city' in a bit and church this evening. Not much else planned.

I can understand Tommy......choices!

Good mornin,

The other evening my neighbors were out with their young children and the temps in the low 50's. They were making smores over a campfire in the back yard. They invited Sue and I over to join them. Sue went over but I gracefully declined. They mentioned to Sue "I thought Tommy was from Boston. Thought he'd be used to this weather." Which is why I didn't want to hang around outside. I hung around outside in the cold enough to last me a lifetime although a little fire makes it more inviting. One of the benefits of being retired is that I can go outside, most of the time, when I want to go outside. Or I can basque in the warmth of a heated home. Guess which one I pick.

Try this site out: https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/?wheel ... &wcl=30mm&scl=50mm&sr=0mm

I used it when switching tire and rim sizes on my 86 and it was very helpful. You do need to do some careful measuring but it was worth it.

Busy day here. I went down and started the LED conversions by myself, then Rosie came dow to help then one guy came down...although I was the only one actually doing the conversions, Rosie and the other guy hauled the junk pieces out. Worked until about 1 and then the third guy came and we finished the project up by 3. I believe that everyone will be tickled with the change.

Just walked in the door and the phone was ringing....a guy who was having computer problems, so I told him to bring it by, and hour later I have him running, but now it's too late to go over to the 'city' and get my paint for cabinets I'll be starting next week.

I guess I'll just have to relax tonight and do the paint tomorrow.

That place would be really bad for me Tommy. Like you, If I had a billion dollars.......

It did make it to 50 today, but was cloudy most of the day.

Morning guys....late start for me. When the alarm went off, I just turned it off and slept for another hour. Chilly here this morning, 17 but is supposed to recover into the low 50s.

I have 23 more fixtures to swap over to LEDs at the church hall, so that's what is on the agenda today.

Glad you dodged the bullet Tommy. Gris, glad the Mrs got home OK. Travelling in that part of the world is kind of spooky for Americans.

Well, I got to get around, catch you later. Have a great day folks.

Hidey-ho! Glad to hear your plants are OK, Tommy. They would be frozen statues of plants here. I'm working from home today, and could use a nap already myself.

Have a good day, all!

PICKED UP MY WORLD TRAVELER LAST NIGHT AT THE TULSA AIRPORT. THE NEW PARKING SET UP IS LABYRINTHINE. AT LEAST THEY DO HAVE SHUTTLE BUSES AND GIVE YOU A TICKET THAT SHOWS WHERE YOU PARKED. WITHOUT THAT I MIGHT STILL BE THERE LOOKING FOR MY TRUCK :-0

DW BROUGHT ME A LOAF OF GOOD GERMAN RYE BREAD FROM HER MUNICH STOPOVER. YUM!

Good morning one and all. I was up every couple of hours throughout the night checking on the outside temperature. Freeze/frost is an expensive proposition in the nursery business. Looks like we dodged a bullet with the low reaching 40. A few degrees lower and it could have killed a number of plants. I went over at 05:00 AM and turned on the irrigation at the nurseries and here at the house nursery. The warmer ground waters will keep the plants happy till the temps go up later this morning. The temps will start to rise to more suitable levels. Knowing I was going to have that kind of night I went to bed at 09:00 PM. I'm glad I did. May jump back in bed for an early morning nap ..... because I can and because I don't want to be outside till after 10:00 anyway. Sue's alarm just went off. She'll be up an at em in no time now. My guess is the price is going to go up on orange juice futures. ;)

Well, it warmed right up today, 52 as a high. Didn't see much of it though as I was inside most of the day installing LED bulbs. We got 44 fixtures swapped out the last two days. We still have 23 fixtures to do.

That seems simple yet it's the best thing I've read all day.
It's warming up some here, 32 today, slowly to climb the rest of the week then by Saturday the bottom falls out with 80% chance of winter mix mess. Thanks mother nature. ugh.

Andy, I am in full agreement with Letty on the graphics idea. To me, the site is getting tired and really needs spruced up. A few things that bother me, the slanted "Welcome to" is a little thing but it doesn't work for me. I don't read on an angle and the angle of this actually draws your eye away from "CORVETTEGURU.COM" Next is the little pictures of all the generations, maybe replace with a larger rolling picture of each generation. More eyecatching. Lastly, don't be the do all guy, you have lots of talent available to you on here for help and guidance, don't be afraid to use it.

Morning all. Currently it is 12 degrees here in the Buckeye State with a -2 wind chill and snowing like crazy. Not looking forward to wandering out to shovel the sidewalks and feed the birds, but I will get to that shortly. Everyone stay warm.

Greetings! This time of year must be a windshield washer fluid salesman's dream. And the dirt/salt/yuk on the cars seems to jump right onto your clothes if you get within spitting distance. But we are one day closer to spring.

Have a good day, yawlz!

Up and at em. Chilly this morning, 16 now but headed toward the upper 40s. We made it to 49 yesterday. Turned out to be a pretty nice day.

Back to the churchhall today to work on replacing the florescent bulbs with the LEDs. Got about a fifth of them done yesterday, but today I'm supposed to have a little more help.

Got cabinet parts ordered for a small kitchen job last night, so the onslaught has started. On my way home from my KofC meeting last night I was stopped by an acquaintance who wanted to know if I was interested in doing a kitchen for a guy the next town over (30 miles west). Said the guy couldn't find anyone who he liked or felt like he could trust...this guy told him about me, and apparently, was impressed enough to ask for my contact info. We'll see where that goes.

Got to get moving here. You folks have a great day.

I HAVE NO ANSWERS; I'M NOT SURE I EVEN KNOW WHAT THE QUESTION IS.

I'D REALLY HATE TO SEE THIS SITE GO DOWN. THE GURU KNOWLEDGE BASE IS OUTSTANDING AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO WONDER IF THE RESPONDENT KNOWS "COME HERE" FROM "SIC 'EM". YOU ALL HAVE PUT ME ON THE RIGHT TRACK MORE THAN ONCE; I EVEN BOUGHT TWO CARS USING ANDY'S C4 BUYERS CHECKLIST. AND I DO ENJOY THE GIVE AND TAKE OF THE CHATING CLASS.

I HAVE NO BLOOD, TOIL, TEARS, OR SWEAT TO CONTRIBUTE, BUT I'D CHIP INTO THE POT IF THAT WOULD HELP ;-)

Hey guys, busy day. Went out to the shop and did a few things then checked and the rest of the new bulbs for the church hall were sitting on the front porch. I loaded them up and took them up there to await installation. Got a call from a guy who had picked up his bid for cabinets and counter top. Last week he called to tell me they were "putting the project on hold". I think he was taken aback a bit as to the cost. Well, this morning he calls again and says "we're back on"....me thinks he checked around and found I was actually pretty reasonable..... But they wanted to change color of counter tops and could I get my sample to his wife.....Yup.

Then I went to see my chiropractor, "have you been avoiding me? You look like you're in a world of hurt." No I haven't been avoiding you, just thought I was getting it worked out myself. and yes, very uncomfortable, says I. Got another appointment Monday, but feel WAY better now.

Then went up to church to start on the lights. Sent a text and called the guy who was going to help me swap them out...didn't hear back from him. So GS #1 and I started. I got one fixture converted before lunch. Then a phone call from another one of my regular clients about a printer issue. So after lunch went over to put that fire out and then back to the hall to work on swapping more fixtures. About 15 minutes into that my helper arrived and in 2 hours we finished up 11 fixtures....only 56 more to go.

My arms hurt from working overhead....we'll see how it plays out tomorrow as we are going at it at 9 am.

.45-70 IS SO MUNDANE. GO FOR .45-120, THE "BIG 45", BE A FIRST CLASS BUFFALO HUNTER. YOU CAN BORROW MONEY FROM ONE OF YOUR POOR FARMERS. DON'T EVER RECOLLECT HEARING A FARMER ADMIT TO MAKING MONEY---
