this is a super common problem on, of all things, Ferrari's.

There is a firm in MD called Sticky No More, https://stickynomore.com/, they will remove that coating and apply a new coating. It lasts longer and won't break the bank.

There are other fixes involving hydro-printing. Essentially, a water transfer.

Hey guys, another couple of busy days. Gris, I think Rosie and I have the same problem.

Much cooler today, like darn chilly cool. Had windows open and when we got up it was 58 in the house and 40 on the back deck. Windows were closed as soon as we got up. Still just 65 in the house and 55 outside as I write this.

Up early in the morning and out to the golf course... not to golf, but to finish setting up for the cross country meet. 19 schools and over 400 runners are scheduled to be here. 5 races scheduled.

Good afternoon- gorgeous day here.got up and got my errands done just sitting out back holding my chair down. Local festival at the park down the street might walk down there in a bit , mite not. Lazy kinda day. All the vetters at the meeting last night liked the cat, got compliments and one biker popped me a wheelie in traffic. Can’t beat that I reckon

Good Morning CGs!

Finally got off my lazy butt and replaced the house water filters. There was a ton of iron sediment in the lines, had to run a while before it cleared up. Did the furnace filter, too. I have to do that once a month with the constant filtration fan.

Gris, speaking of weddings I have one next weekend for our friend Rick (member here) which will take me all the way out to North Carolina. The following weekend I have a wedding to attend in Michigan for some coworkers. Apparently love is in the air.

Tommy, sorry to hear about the kittens. It was a good thing you two did, anyway.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Sue: Did you take out the trash like I asked you to?

Tom: When did you ask me? I don't remember you asking me anything.

Sue: Well, did you take out the trash?

Tom: Ya, I already did it.

Good morning, Gris. No that perhaps isn't the most welcomed wedding invite response lol.
Beautiful day here again but we are in drought mode. Grass is dying flowers aren't happy. We are in the same drought conditions we were in the summer. Burn bans in place but magically don't apply to farmers who willy nilly set fire to 200 acres at a time. But, my little trash pile in a contained barrel is an issue?
Drove the car to work today, scared to death of anyone getting within 100 yards of me, parked 4' back in my parking spot. I have an appointment here for tint this afternoon and we have a club meeting tonight. I still have a lot left to do but it'll get there. Ordered some alcantara cleaner and just got it in yesterday I'll try to make time to try that out this weekend.
Yall have a good day

59 DEGREES, SUNNY AND CALM, SHOOTING FOR 84. AIN'T NO FLIES ON THAT.

NOT MUCH ON THE AGENDA TODAY, I'LL PICK UP SOME CLEANING IN MUSKOGEE, CHECK ON HARVEY. THE DANGEROUS DUO LAST SPOTTED IN HAYS, KS. HEADED WEST AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED :-) STILL HAVE AN OCCASIONAL DILATORY HUMMING BIRD STRAGGLER SHOWING UP.

AND IN THE BIDEN-REICH, THE FEDERAL HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES HEAD HAS CRITICIZED THE OKLAHOMA GOVERNOR FOR BANNING “GENDER TRANSITION SERVICES”. “GENDER AFFIRMING CARE/TRANSITION SERVICES” INCLUDES CUTTING TEEN AGE GIRLS BREASTS OFF AND CASTRATING LITTLE BOYS, ALONG WITH VARIOUS CHEMICAL INTERFERENCE WITH NATURAL BODY PROCESSES.

Yes, bourbon indeed. this may require a special trip to the store. And I need one of those rollaway cots in a far away place on an island to soothe myself.
The realtor is actually a friend of mine, she's not my worry. She's doing all she can. She even agreed to take the listing and set a flat rate since it's a cheap property. I just don't understand nosy neighbors and then the gall of the buyer to create such a wacky story and put someone else up to doing her dirty work instead of just not being honest. And, not signing the termination so it can be relisted.
Day here almost over, can't happen soon enough. I need to go home and scrub car seats

Didn't you put up walls and heat in the shop/garage? I'm sure a rollaway would fit in there.

Good afternoon - got a few things going on here, ambulance proofed, not heard back, smart car proofed, lady's driving me batty and a semi driver wants me to drive all the way across town to measure his door for a $65 decal. Nope. I'm here by myself and it aint happening. he can bring it by here.
Oneta's house sale fell through and I got that word last night, just 24 hours after being told it was a done deal, half deposit on the way. Im crushed. that was gonna be a 12 year burden lifted off me. Was told Monday it was done and I slept nice. Last night, the buyer's 'friend' sent a sketchy text about a sinkhole and a yard 'infestation' to my realtor. There's no sinkhole and there's no kind of infestation in the yard or else all the rest of us would have been having swelled up legs. I figure the lady is diabetic and drove all day and then changed her mind. Why? firs of all closing was supposed to be 30th and the title company ruined that by not doing the paperwork. Then monday night, some weird lady that lives near there walked over and got the realtor and buyer really angry telling them all kinds of stuff like it was her moms' house and all the stuff in it was her moms' how it didn't have available water ever and creating a scene. Said no water was why oneta had to move and that oneta was renting it from them. WTF. I'm not sure if I can have her arrested or just go find her and handle it myself which Im tempted to do. the house had water, I've used the commode before she moved out. And she moved because she was getting where she couldn't use her legs and wanted a small place she could manage. I hate people. I've cried and cried. I have a trip planned in a week was suposed to be my first 'carefree' getaway in years without having to worry about a call for something to do with all this. Prayres please for this issue if yall don't mind.
Tommy - Im very sorry all the kittens died

STILL DRY, I'LL DO SOME SELECTED WATERING.

DARLING WIFE IS GONE; THE SILENCE IS DEAFENING. THE DANGEROUS DUO ARE EN ROUTE TO COLORADO. DRIVERS BEWARE AT POINTS IN BETWEEN.

NO READOUT ON THE '87. THE HOOKUP FOR THE EARLY SYSTEM IS LOCKED UP IN THE WRENCHMEISTER'S TOOL BOX AND THE APPRENTICE CAN'T GET TO IT. HE HAS ONE ON ORDER FOR HIMSELF---ON THE WAY WAIT.

TIME TO FEED THE WONDERDOG. ENJOY OCTOBER, GURUS.

Hey guys, been a busy few days here. Trying to catch up from the days we took off last week. Monday, I went out to hang kitchen cabinets for a lady building an addition on her daughters' house. Base cabinets were in but Home Depot has no idea where thee uppers are or when they might show up. But the countertop guys are coming to measure Friday, so I had to get the base in, and then modifying and adding in a cabinet to the end of the base run. Built a custom countertop for the bathroom and a small cabinet to go underneath. Also, the chest of drawers I started a couple weeks back, got some attention today. Built the drawers, dovetailing the fronts/backs and sides. Getting close to finishing the construction of that.

Weather has been warmer than normal, Sunday and Monday, today much cooler and it started off this morning drizzling. Going to be cool tonight, lows in the upper 40s, highs in the mid 70s the next few days.

All the kittens have died. They were really sick and the vet put the last two down this afternoon. Sue of course was very sad about it. I didn't have as much emotionally invested. Not that I'm pleased with it either.

Time is closing in fast on our cruise Oct 15th. Broke out the suitcases. Sue's trying desperately to save the kittens. Out of 6 3 have passed. She has been bottle feeding them kitten formula. She brought one that was struggling to the vet this morning and it died in his hands. Didn't charge Sue anything. They do a lot of visits gratis for her bedcause they know she is active in animal rescue. Interestingly she cries when one dies. Yesterday in the back yard Schatzie, the rottie mix, trapped a rainbow agama (lizard) with her paw. When she lifted the lizard ran and Sue stomped on it's head and killed it. I asked Sue why she killed the lizard and she said " I'll kill every one of those bastards." They're invasive. There is an iguana in the back yard that just looks at me and doesn't run when I'm in the back yard. I call him Iggy. Iggy Pop. These poor critters didn't ask to be here. They're here because of irresponsable pet owners that either set them free or they escaped. Now they're everywhere. Morning and evening temps here have been nice.

Here is a pic of Sue feeding a kitty.

good morning Gris - beautiful day here also, supposed to be like this for another week or two. Still no rain here, burn bans have been put in place statewide now. Of course that don't apply to farmers. It's illegal for you to burn your leaves in a contained barrel but it's quite allright for that farmer to set fire to 200 acres at once which could easily spread to trees and other people's property.
Have another ambulance to wrap, and supposed to have a smart car and a small bus brought in, kinda hoping the latter two come tomorrow as I have enough for today with the ambulance. I can reuse the cab and front upper from the last one but the rest of the box is completely different so new templates for those then proof.
Yall have a good day.

I looked this up "over there" and found a couple of threads. Some say use non acetone nail polish remover and it will take the rubbery stuff right off. It leaves a slick surface so you can low pressure soda blast this to achieve a matte look. If you don't like that you can opt top paint body color or another dude used an airbrush gun with #4 tip with plastikote thinned and was happy. However that will result in same wear problems. Paint will scratch also, but I've had a painted one and didn't have any issues. I do think one of our suppliers offers clearbra pattern for console so that will likely be my next option.

CORVETTE RACING AT ROAD ATLANTA: What Might Have Been
Fifth-place GTD PRO finish for Garcia, Taylor, Catsburg in No. 3 Corvette
C8.R

BRASELTON, Ga. (Oct. 1, 2022) – Corvette Racing closed its season in the
IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship on Saturday with a fifth-place
finish in the GT Daytona (GTD) PRO class after the 10-hour Petit Le Mans at
Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.

Antonio Garcia, Jordan Taylor and Nicky Catsburg entered Saturday hoping to
replicate their victory from earlier this year at the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours
of Sebring. Ultimately, two separate incidents of contact didn’t help the
No. 3 Mobil 1/SiriusXM Chevrolet Corvette C8.R’s quest for its second
victory of the season.

The result was enough for Garcia and Taylor to take third in the GTD Drivers
Championship and Chevrolet to finish third in the final Manufacturers
standings.

The day began strong with Garcia moving forward from the green flag. He
picked up two positions to third on the opening two laps of the race and
moved to the lead just past the hour mark. He drove the first 92 minutes
before handing off to Taylor, who ran first or second for the first 90
minutes of his time in the Corvette.

The day’s first setback came near the three-hour mark when Taylor’s
right-rear Michelin went down while leading on a restart following contact
with the No. 9 Porsche. He was able to dive directly into the pits for four
fresh tires but fell down to sixth.

The march back toward the front came over the next two hours as two more
full-course yellows and penalties to some of its competitors allowed the
Corvette to make up track position. By the time Catsburg took over near the
four-and-a-half-hour mark, the No. 3 was back with the lead back in GTD PRO
and ran as high as second before Garcia returned to the driver’s seat near
the seven-hour mark.

Things came undone for the No. 3 Corvette with a little more than two hours
to go as Garcia spun at Turn 11 after contact with the 62 Ferrari. He
dropped from third to fifth and then down to sixth as Corvette Racing
engineers immediately went on an alternate pit strategy in hopes of a yellow
to get the C8.R back into contention.

The race’s final yellow came with 52 minutes remaining and brought Garcia to
within five seconds of the lead inside the final 30 minutes but couldn’t
draw closer at the end.

Corvette Racing closes its 2022 program with the Eight Hours of Bahrain and
the final race of the FIA World Endurance Championship on Nov. 10-12.

ANTONIO GARCIA, NO. 3 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C8.R – FINISHED
FIFTH IN GTD PRO: “It’s difficult when you have GTD cars fighting for the
same thing as you and their performance is completely opposite of yours. It’s
impossible to race when one car achieves a lap time in one way and the rest
do it another. I must say it’s the story of the season. We showed at the
beginning of the race that if we are up front and can do our own pace, we’re
good and we can race. As soon as you have someone in front of you that you
can’t pass and another car gets to you, they will go past because you have
nothing to help you defend. That’s been the thing this year. Frustrating
day, frustrating season… but the effort from everyone at Corvette Racing has
been great all season. We couldn’t ask for more from the team. That’s 110
percent.”

On the start: “The start of the race was easy and relaxed in a way. We had
good pace to the other cars in front of those and managed to jump most of
those in the pits. Then the pace was really good. I had to catch the 79,
which seemed doable and got into the lead. But one more year where I’ve won
many stints at Petit Le Mans but never the whole race.”

JORDAN TAYLOR, NO. 3 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C8.R – FINISHED
FIFTH IN GTD PRO: “I feel like we put ourselves in some good spots today. At
the end of it, we just didn’t have the pace to battle guys. After that last
restart we were kind of in a position to fight again but got motored by.
That was pretty much our season in one race. Hopefully we can go into the
offseason, figure out what all we learned and come back stronger next year.”

Opening stint: "Our car was decent. We had a little bit of contact, which
was unfortunate. It kind of cycled us to the back but we were still in a
good position. It's really hard to pass around here with the traffic. I
wasn't going to give the position (to the 9 Porsche). I was trying to be
aggressive and hold him off. We were racing for the Endurance Cup so I think
that's why we were racing that aggressively that early on.”

NICKY CATSBURG, NO. 3 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C8.R – FINISHED
FIFTH IN GTD PRO: “It was a tough race. We didn’t have the pace at the end.
It seems like everyone else had something left and we didn’t. I had fun but
unfortunately this was the maximum we could do.

"Honestly there wasn't a lot of crazy action. It was quite fun.
Unfortunately on both pit entries, I got held up by a couple of stints and
lost some time. But that didn't mean so much for our pace. It just means
that all the effort you put in during the stint is then lost for no reason,
which is very annoying.”

Good afternoon, beautiful day here again. Got out earlier and wiped the car down and out on a light wax. Might drive it tomorrow not sure yet. I have to Thursday it gets tint.
Got all my housecleaning done yesterday so resting today. I’m sore all over. I also cut up and bacon wrapped three whole beef filets. These are “economy” ones from the store by the office. I trim and slice myself. They were on sale fir $5.99/lb normally $11/lb. I went to get one o advice from a friend they were out. Butcher comes back with these three (one was trimmed) and then marks them to $3.50/pound. I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. I now have 27 bacon wrapped filets in the freezer plus one bag of trimmings I’ll use for stew meat.

Strongly agree.

Several days a go a guy called Sue telling her he had found several kittens in his shed and didn't know what to do with them. He was thinking of putting them out of their misery. Sue being of kind heart told him to bring the kittens over and she would takle care of them . The several kittens ended up being 6 of about 1 week old. That means they need to be bottle fed. A few months back I had rescued a kitten from the bank parking lot also needing to be nursed. I personally cared for that kitten and actually became attached to it. We found it a home we thought would be good but the woman's mother in law tool the cat and did something with it. I don't know what. I still get pissed off when I think of what happened to that kitten and in my mind would like to do unimaginable things to that woman. I named that kitten Rocket because he loved to zoom around. He would run to me and jump on my arm to be picked up.I'm not a big cat fan but there are a few I like. That was one of them. Anyway, back to the story. Sue is nursing these 6 and they eat about every 2-3 hours. Like babies. When they get to 3 weeks old we can start them of a soft food and formula mix. Through the years Sue (and me by default) have rescued a multitude of animals and repitiles, mainly tortoises, kittens/cats, puppies/dogs, fish and a few potbellied pigs. Having a kind heart has its consequences. I didn't want any new animals when we moved to this house but that didn't seem to matter to someone. We are cruising in two weeks and I hope Sue comes up with a plan for the kittens. Our regular pet sitter takes care of the rest of the menagerie and Sue's office girl takes care of the nursery cats and fish. Like my chore list that will last me through my lifetime, so will some of our long living pets. Harry, the Cockatoo is around 30 and he could live another 30. The tortoises are 15-20 years old and the could live another 40. We have 14 tortoises. The Koi are 8 years old and can live 30 years+. Dottie our potbellied pig is showing signs of aging. She will soon be 10 and 15 is their average. Shatzie (Rottie mix) is 10 and in pretty good health but I'd give her 3 to 4 years with good care. Snoopy (Dachshund mix) is 5 and can go to 15 or more. Pretty much I think many will outlive me. Sue being younger will likely have to take over all the responsibilities of the house and everything in it. Can't say that I didn't warn her a decade ago but why listen to me. ..... What do I know .......

Morning guys... Local car show yesterday, so I was up early and out to the airport. Best show we've had in a few years. Good turn out and some quality cars. 007 didn't win anything, but I never expect too. Weather was pretty good, cool at the start, but warmed up in the afternoon to the low 80s.

Cool this morning, mid 50s but warming into the low 80s later. Might go play some golf this morning, then off to the 'city' for groceries.

Next Saturday, we host the Cross Country meet here, so don't have to travel very far. After the meet, Leo asked if we could have his birthday party and have some of his friends over. So we are helping #2 with food costs, so we'll pick up some things for that today.

Good evening, beautiful day here. We planned to work on the car and I was slap out of decent supplies so off we went. Picked up 4 products, and forgot one. Grabbed some bbq and stopped by the 'antique motorcycle show' at the Harley shop and saw some really nice bikes. This green Sailor Jerry style one was my fave and he won.
We got home, jerked the seats out of the car, got carpets cleaned, inside cleaned, black plastic refresh done on the outside, didn't get that completed the other day but it's finished now and gave the car a light wipe down outside. Started taking wheels off and painting calipers and on the first one it was some sort of orange and absolutely not red as indicated on the cap . Put it all back together and will swap out paint next time and then do the calipers and wheels. It gets new window tint Thursday, still needs a wax and then I should be done. Then it's time to start on redoing the garage so it has a nice place to live. It's not pristine, new or perfect but it's a complete 180 from where it started. We're wore slap out.Tomorrow is Arrons birthday so we plan to just sit around.

..after we ate I asked Doc where she needed to go in town.... and she said Harbor Freight.... I'm like this is the best date ever.....

While we were leaving and in the parking lot in drives my old 90 C4 with the guy I sold it to 12 or so years ago still driving it.
after I told him who I was we had a great chat... he has had the car all over the country and loves it.... said he would sell it back to me for $12K..... I sold it to him for $8500 if I recall.... he said he really did not want to sell it but would if someone would pay him that.... He had it cleaned up and looking good... car has 75K miles on it now....not bad for a 32 year old car...... always nice to see an old car friend......
