Well, Windows Vista is making it a LOT easier. The GUI is almost a total clone of Mac OS X.

And I noticed with the new Leopard operating system that will be released on 10.26, they have included a program called "Boot Camp" which wil allow you to install Windows Vista on your Mac. You can choose which system you want to run. I haven't ever used it, but they SAY is is 100% functional and runs Vista better than a PC.

Of course I am highly biased toward Macs. So you can take that with a grain of salt.

Check it:

Macs have it over the PC for the type of work you do CSS996, I'll give you you that one. But I'm a PC guy too. My daughter and her hubby are both IT people and they deal with PCs Windows/Unix/Linux but when they go home they have their Mac. It's just hard for me to warm up to it.

For what I do: Video editing, animation and graphic design, Mac is the way to go. Plus I simply like the attention to detail and the quality of the construction. EVERY PC I have ever seen, used or touched has felt like a piece of garbage. Flimsy and cheesy. But I suppose you can make them as nice as you want. I just haven't been in contact with any really nice machines, I guess.

It's kinda like the difference in quality betwen a Chevy and a Mercedes. Where Mac is more like the Mercedes. You know how when you close the door on a Mercedes, there is that nice solid 'thunk'? And on the Chevy it's more like a 'crack'?

It's like that for me with my Mac vs PC experience.

Mac is the leader in one main area - graphics. They kick the PC platform into next week.

My brother owns a print shop in FL, and he has an older G5. That sucker FLIES.

Ok, time to eat breakfast and read the comix.

See you all later on!!!

TeeBee - I feel your pain.

I have been forced into finishing projects, versus documenting them.

To do these, you really need a helper to take the pictures. The text will write itself, really.

Good Morning Gurus!

It's the downward slide to the weekend!

I think I'll leave work early today, coz I can.

Anybody else eagerly awaiting the release of Mac OS 10.5 (Leopard)?

Looks like it will be pretty cool. I probably won't be able to order my new Mac until it is already included, but I still need to purchase it for two other Macs in the house.

That's about all I've got at the moment.

How's your day looking?

Thanks for all the nice comments guys. I have to admit, the car was in pretty good shape when I bought it (94k). But I have worked to get it as near perfect as I can. I do drive it though. The trip to Tennessee/North Carolina put about 3500 on it in the 10 days we were gone. On the "Dragon Run" I had an axle u-joint start squeaking. I made it home OK and have since replaced all the axle joints and have the drive-shaft joints ready to replace as one of my winter projects. The car now has 114k+.

Andy, you know I have done several projects on my 94. I always start out with great intentions of documenting the process, but somewhere in the middle of the actual doing it, I forget to take those pictures because I am so focussed on getting it done. I'll try to do better with this as I continue work on the white beast.

I do want to say that I really appreciate those that have written tech articles.

The only Gen of F bodies I'll ever like are the first gen.

The wife had a 2nd Gen Firebird ('82), no so nice compared to the '78 pictured below.
Too much plastic.

89 Camaro? Compared to that? hm.

Then again, the best 3rd gen camaro was never built... I proposed a Camaro, based off the IROC platform, with the 1LE suspension, 5spd manual, and a turbocharged Quad 4... that woulda been bad to the bone.

Hell yeah! That would have been a sweet ride! I really love camaros but, after driving my vette for the first time there is just no comparison. IMO the camaros suspension really sucked and it really could not handle corners as well as it should be able to. Other than that, camaros were a very nice ride for a good price

Have to go and see the doctor that did the operation 2 years ago, will see what he says. I wont be paying one cent for any bloody thing he does, he had a shot at it and its not right, so he can fix it now. I cant carry out a normal life with this pain all the time, and there is times when i will very suddenly feel quite sick from it, so it has a huge impact on things sometimes and ive just about had enough of it really....

I want my first car back... a 1976 AMC pacer... what a POS... but I now know that Clifford Eng exists... and a 400+ HP I6 is now possible. That would be cool.

However... I agree... I don't miss those threads one bit. I suspect I would lock them and suggest they take it to the track.

I got to get to your house so you can hear it, I don't bring the C5 out much these days, I drive the C4 everyday, I only bring the C5 out when I'm going to car shows or on the weekend. I'll work it out.

you becoming one of those types that doesn't drive the vette??? scary... very scary...

It's been a while since I last visited this site, mostly it was the delay in loading pages, and sadly patience is not one of my virtues.

Good work Bogus, now I’ll keep coming back for advice and help when needed!

Great to see you back! How is NH treating you?

My apologies for being scarce. I am glad to be back, and see nice changes on the Guru.
I am living in NH and having a great time with the new home, and job. Sadly, my wife and 10 year old daughter are still living in Pa.
I am coming home to Pa every 2 weeks or so, (for the weekend), but I am missing the family a bit. Job has me traveling around the US, so that helps to keep me busy. Today, Dubuque, Iowa is the town I am calling home, Tomorrow, NH.
I hope to be available to contribute more here

The email you sent out got me to log on again after a long absence. The site is much more responsive. Things over at the "other place" just aren't the same and a bit stuffy. And beings I spend most of my time in the C4 arena I may as well spend it here.
