OK I'm used to the stretching over time.

Took it for a spin.
Seems to be running good.
Seems to be running a little hot
Of course it's 90 degrees outside.

IT'S ALIVE!

No belts in between those two sizes.
So I put it back together with the belt size I was running.

I'll see how much slip I get.
May not be that much, seeing I'm only running 5psi boost.

Letting it sit overnight to check to leaks.
I'll take it for a run tomorrow.

OK _finally_ had time to get the blower back on the car.

With the new _smaller_ idler pulley the belt K080525 seems a little _loose_

I had the next size down K080514, but that's way to short.

Tried looking up some different manufacturers, but can seem to find any in between the two

BTW I shoot in a pistol league
So we're both well versed on shooting range edicate

Really just need tip on the rifles

I was really surprised that the AK's bolt doesn't stay back when the mag is empty
nor is there a way to keep it back :skep:
(I guess they don't want the enemy knowing that your empty )
I put the orange flag from the AR in it to show that the action is empty

The guy I normally go shooting with is having retirement party tomorrow night before he moves to FL

So we're going to the range beforehand.

Any tips on either the AR (S&W M&P) or the AK (MAK-90)?

The test to join the club is the 1st time I've shot a rifle in 30 years.

GOAL Response to Attorney General Healey's assault on Second Amendment.
http://blog.goal.org/goal-response-ag-healeys-actions/
Quote:

GOAL Response To AG Healey’s Actions

Massachusetts Attorney General Unilaterally Changes Gun Laws

http://www.mass.gov/ago/public-safety/awbe.html

Without any prior notice or public hearings and while the legislature is on break for national conventions the Massachusetts Attorney General, Maura Healey, has issued an “Enforcement Notice” to firearm retailers throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts changing the longstanding definition of so-called “Assault Weapons”.

For nearly 18 years since the passage of the 1998 Gun Control Act firearm retailers, gun owners and state agencies have been operating under the same interpretation. Now, suddenly, without warning or any due process a single person with a clear political agenda decides to change the rules. All Massachusetts residents should be alarmed!

GOAL is currently trying to decipher the enforcement letter, but with as much information that it contains, it is not very clear what it means. Statements such as the following make it very convoluted: “… a weapon is a Copy or Duplicate, for example, if the operating system and firing mechanism of the weapon are based on or otherwise substantially similar to one of the Enumerated Weapons.”

Virtually every semi-automatic that utilizes a detachable magazine has the same operating system or firing mechanism, so what does this mean? The short answer is we simply don’t know. Our best advice to firearm retailers for now is to err on the side of caution. These new rules may cover a lot more than just what we might think.

GOAL is working with people and groups around the State and the nation to clarify these new interpretations and decide the best course of action. One thing is certain that this new interpretation is purely a political stunt and has nothing to do with public safety or real law.

Jim Wallace
Executive Director

Four Seasons Firearms

the AK style rifle I picked up is a MAK-90 with a folding stock and pre-ban 30 round clip

I would have prefered a Russian gun,
but I was stuck with what they had in stock
Seems like a nice gun though

I also picked up a pre-ban 30 round clip for the AR ( S&W M&P 15)

Had BOTH stock side tanks break at a track event

Now for the bitch..........not at Champion but at GM.

Some sadistic son of a bitch at GM decided to put a big rubber air intake for the air pump in between the shroud and the frame. I think this is only on the 92's.

Later cars get it from the aircleaner

At least some bean counter made it easier to work on.

Something said for practice and knowing how it all comes apart.

I got it all apart in less that 3 hrs.

Summit sent me a stock plastic replacement

Need to helicoil one of the tapped holes in the bracket
Been together & apart too many times

NAPA had the correct helicoil kit in stock.

Just about have it all back together

Just need to hook up the radiator

BTW putting the belt back on is WAY easier with the radiator hoses out of the way.

I'll have 30 hours into it by the time I'm finished.

If I had gone back to the $75/hr shop that installed it that would have been $2,250

Resized Image

this shows the size difference
This won't effect the drive ratio

All rebuilt, I later put in on the blower & started to hook everything back up

Talked to my builder yesterday, really just to ask how he managed to put it together

I mentioned the torque strap

He said not to use a chain or a turnbuckle.
They might set off the knock sensor

But a strap should work

I finally got that stupid bolt out!

There's suppose to be a 12pt bolt so you can access it

But the second hand kit did not come with the hardware,
So my builder put a 6pt in instead

Finally got it off with a 9/16 socket on a 1/4in drive
