Good morning
Haven't formulated a plan as of yet but I'd say one is coming. The wife is still sleeping but she should be up before long. I'm sure she will ask. "What do you want to do today?" and I better come up with a good answer or else "that's how the fight started".

Good Morning CGs!

Up and ready to attack the day...blah. I think my mini-vacation did me in. I have no desire to go to work

I did get a chance to go for a short run last night. Didn't do a tempo run, I was pretty beat from the day, so did a nice pace for 3.5 miles. It was pretty humid but not quite as hot at 8:45 when I went out. My back is a bit sore from a hard workout of deadlifts and clean & presses yesterday. Today is bicep/tricep day.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Tip of the day

Pickle juice is packed with sodium and can be added to water or made into popsicles for hot-weather workouts. There's also scientific and anecdotal evidence that drinking a shot out of the pickle jar will help alleviate muscle cramps faster.

I don't think you'll find anything better than an ice cold, refreshing picklesicle.

If you go into a local bar and see a jar of pickles sitting there, it's beat to ask how long it's been sitting there before you ask for a shot of juice.

Pickled eggs and pickled sauasges are also great sources of nutrition for the Sunday morning bar patron.

OK..... I guess you guys are at a loss for other topics and have resorted to a comfortable level of intellectual discussion!

The wife and I went to the gun show yesterday... What a blast!(Pun Intended). Kathie's first gun show and she immediately found the custom jewelry ladies... OMG I did get a huge chuckle out of her asking a zillion questions. When I got tired of trying to answer questions I din't know the answer to, she would wring the ear off some vendor. It was not that busy yesterday and they were glad to show her the ARs and let her fondle the guns. I almost had her talked into buying a beautiful match Grade M1A Garand and/ or the little M1 carbine. She also liked the pink AR15 someone was selling. Amazing, I was tired and ready to leave before she was. I found some great knife makers there but the prices were pretty high and I'm in search of good Damascus Steel. Only one guy there had quality Damascus knives but I couldn't afford that stuff, plus I'd be afraid to use such a beautiful piece of art!! I talked one guys ear off for at least 30 minutes and am determined to try this as a hobby one day.

Hope you guys have a great day!

My buddie that has the machine shop makes a bore sight for the M1. He's been selling them for many, many years to the competition shooters.

Good morning guys....I see the topics have deteriorated already. We have our local car show today noon 'til 4 pm. I'm taking the Vette up there in about 20 minutes so I can get in the shade.. It's going to be hot again, looking at 104 today, shade will be important.

Hey I'm excited because it's National Ice Cream day today. I may have a big cone at the Dairy Queen after the game. Mmmmm looking forward to being out in the heat for that. Actually I am excited about the game just not the conditions. 114 degree heat index with the humidity today.......yikes!

Out here we believe that if you eat pickles the mosquitos will leave you alone........wow the pickle, so many amazing uses.....I used to be a big fan of pickeled eggs when I spent a lot of time in bars. I was somewhere one time and asked the barkeep to give me a couple of the eggs sitting in the jar next to the sausages. He looked at me for about 5 seconds cocked his head and said......Them eggs?.......Ahh no maybe I'll just have some more popcorn......

You car show guys have a good time. We have some show and shines in about every little town around here during the summer and a few big ones also. It's amazing what toys that folks have hidden in their garages.

Going to drive the C5 to church have a safe day Guru's.

I'm back, it's a good thing the show is only about 2 1/2 blocks from the house. I got my spot, which will be in the shade starting about noon.

I don't usually do shows either, but this one is for our local Lions Club and for their charities they work for.

Wow what a weekend. It started Friday night when my step-mother called me. She never calls me so I was on high alert. She talked for a minute and then said "I'll let you talk to your dad so you don't worry" now I'm about ready to get in the car and drive to PA she has me that freaked. Dad gets on the phone and turns out he's in the hospital after having to had a stint put in his aorta because it was just about completely collapsed. He is home now and resting. I'm still debating on whether or not to go up there.

So, yesterday I tinkered on the Vette to take my mind off things. The weather here has been really tolerable. Supposed to be like this until the middle of next week.

Good luck at the shows Fella's

Indeed, much mojo to your dad, Jeff!

Slow going on the deck this weekend with the heat, but one side is livable again. I have to wait until the other side is done to install the last railing section on this side:

The deck looks fantastic Brad. Jeff, I hope your Dad heals quickly. Car show participation sucked, I'm guessing it was too hot. I didn't win anything with the car. Bought some tickets for other give-aways and won some stuff.

Jeff - sorry to hear about your dad, but he'll do great. My dad had a similar deal a couple years back - good for a scare!

Brad - deck looks great!

I came home and it's 87* inside the house - yuck! Just turned on the a/c and have to do some financial paperwork. Fun.

Jeff that isn't as big a deal nowdays as it was a few years back.....but it keeps you tense. Keep us informed.

Brad, nice work! That deserves a big Husker Atta Boy!

TB I have been to those shows where the asphalt is melting and it just takes a lot of the fun out of it. That guy wants like 650 for those Corsas. What do you think?

Just got back from the ball game from hell where you could have fried an egg on home plate......and of course against all odds we won big so we have to go back again tomorrow.....YES! It's all about winning. I noticed that the more we got ahead the less hot it felt.

We are one game away from the championship which is unbelievable for a team who really struggled during the regular season. It's all about peaking at the right time.....

Have a nice evening Guru's!

It's 75 in the house with a cool breeze coming thru the windows.
I had to run the heater in the truck a bit at 7:30 this morning.

Ok , now you guys can flame me.

$650 is a pretty good deal. They run $1100-1300, half price.... Congrats on the b-ball team success.

It was hot today at the show, but I had a great spot in the shade and a light breeze. Not unbearable.
