I'll start cause I have to get out of here. I'm headed back to the racetrack.
Yestarday, I hit the racetrack at 6:45 a.m., set up tech and teched 30 cars, whe had 61 entries.

I got to spend the rest of the day in a C6 instructing, 5- 1/2 hour sessions. This family shows up with 2 identical, blue C6s and their son's driving a blue C5. They guy's wife had the one C6 and bought the matching one for her husband's birthday.

I get to do it all over again today.

Enjoy your day.

After 5 days of rain and darkness, the sun is finally shining.
I guess I will roll the transmission I am building out of the corner, and finish it up.
1 week until Andy Jensen's Mean Street National, at Beaver Springs Dragway.

Bill, I'm jealous but sounds like you're not too happy? One of these days I'll make it to Reno and we'll do some track sessions.

Not a lot on my plate today. Might tinker with the car a bit. I have to clean up the new (to me) edelbrock heads that came in on Friday. Get a little of the stuck on gasket material off and what not. Other than that, I dunno.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

It's Sunday, I'm going for a run, the wife and I are going to the gym, I have a few bulbs to change in the Saab, and after lunch I get to watch my Rams play in their first season game against Seattle on TV. I'm so excited it's not a blackout game and I actually get to see them.

Jeez, I must've been born into the wrong family - no Vettes given as gifts when I was growing up. *sniff*

I got the radiator swapped last night, just have to fill it up and hope that took care of the leak. Then it's time to kick back and see if the Vikings are gonna be any good this year.

Have a great day, all!

Family stuff sure takes up a lot of time. Today is grandparents day brunch at the old folks home. We'll see what the rest of the day brings. Still recovering from something (illness). Don't think I'll garner much motivation for anything today except leave an impression on sofa. Have a great day .....

Glad you'll get to hang out with some folks of your own generation for a while, Tommy.

Brad - wasn't that the Dewitt's (or Be Cool?) radiator you put in with your swap?

Good afternoon. About all I plan to do is clipping a few bushes some easy yard work.

Hey Mat, have you tried a product from Permatex called Gasket Remover. It's a spray-on solvent that will soften those hard dried gaskets. It's not instant, so you will let it set for awhile. I've used it for years on any aluminum to avoid any damage while trying scrap gaskets.

Yes - I've had a small leak since shortly after I got it back together, and it was getting worse, up to about a quart a day. I'll take it somewhere to get it pressure tested - hopefully nothing serious. I was glad to have a good spare for the time being, anyway.

*update* - the old radiator seemed to do the trick so far. Temps were back down where they belong (had been running about 10 degrees hotter than usual), and no leaks after a spirited test drive. When I took the other one out, the whole bottom of the compartment that holds the radiator was covered with coolant.

Hey guys, I was so tired after the events of Saturday that I slept in until 9am...I haven't done that in years. I went out and cleaned up the Vette and put it away, then the wife and I went to town and picked up groceries for the week and I bought new entry lock sets for the house and shop. For the first time ever the locks all have matching keys.

I came in here a little while ago and had an email from my friend I played golf with yesterday....we won the tourney and I'm getting all my money back plus some....YEA!

Well back to the grind tomorrow...well actually more than the grind, as we have homecoming this week and I'll have to sponsor float decoration a couple night this week.

I'll have to pick some up at AZ tomorrow. I will try anything to help prevent scratches or scoring.

The gasket remover's OK.
Plastic razorblades work realy well and so do plastic gasket scrapers.

Come on out. I can actually just call the racetrack manager and he will let me bring people out for laps if there's no event happening.

I spent yesterday in a 65 Mustang fastback, beautifully restored. Ran 5 - 1/2 hour sessions on the track. It had stock suspension & brakes. No, it didn't handle very well, but it did sound bitchin'.
