Game 1... Lee v. Sabathia...

This will be a case where the pitchers should dominate. Unless the weather calls it, I expect the starters to go deep into the game. A real classic pitchers duel.

Now... what will happen when both teams get past their aces? I am expecting fireworks as the series progresses... serious runs scored!

Cliff Lee pitched an absolute gem.

CC didn't do badly, but not good enough.

Phils win 6-1 and have home field advantage.

Its only 1 game.

The fat lady is not even close to singing.

This should be a great series. I forgot the game was on last night until it was 5-0 Phillies. I missed the good parts.

Lee vs. Sabbathia. Hmmmm.... 2 years ago they were on the same team. The team I used to be interested in. I've kind of lost any interest in professional baseball.

But they Phils are 11-1 at home in the post season over the last 2 years. That simply can't be easy to beat.

Unlike the Twins and the Angels, the Phillies aren't playing like they're afraid of the Yankees, which is refreshing. The key for Philly, I think, is to play mistake-free baseball. The Yankees have a way of making the opposition pay dearly for any snafus. It's shaping up to be a fun Series.

I have to go with the Yankees. I grew up with my dad being a die hard Yankee fan so of course I am too. My dad and grandparents are originally from NY before they moved to MO. My dad was a bat boy of the Yankees in the 50's. He has some cool pictures of him with Mickey Mantle and Joe DiMaggio. As far as the current Yankees they have a good line-up and there really isn't a weak spot as anyone one of them can go yard so it comes down to the Philies pitching which they certainly have.

things are not looking good for the home team... their offense has picked a bad time to go on vacation...

I thought the Phillies were going to have a very tough match-up tonight, but so far Sabathia is not looking real sharp.
