Good Morning CGs!

Well, we got a small amount of snow on the ground so far. Maybe 1-2". Just enough to make the drive in the work way too long. Supposed to get 6-12" today, I'll believe it when I see it, as with most of the storms in Chicago this year. Our weathermen have really sucked this season.

Made my (hopefully) final trip to Lowes last night for a piece of base shoe. As it turns out, some dumb employee filled the entire row of 7/16 bas shoe with 1/2 base shoe. I had to remove about 40 pieces to get to the way back and get the right size. No wonder I picked up the wrong one last time. Oh well. I'll cut it and put it down tonight. I wasn't in the mood last night and I had a killer sinus headache. That should end the drama in my house (for now).

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

[Rant] I'm sure glad I don't seek praise for doing what I do. If you would ask my darling wife she would tell you all he ever does is sit in front of the computer. To her, all this stuff stays clean on it's own, the yard is in suspended animation, the exterior and interior of the cars stay in great shape with little or no attention, the bills are all on autopay, and paperwork takes care of itself, the bird cage never needs cleaning and to top it off I should show a little more affection. Why can't I be like other people? Wait a minute; I am like other people. You may have thought I was joking but I really kind of like this thing.[/Rant] Have a great day gurus.

I should have one of those deluxe dog houses, looks like just the ticket. I will park mine someplace warm, where there is no snow.

Show her what happens when you DON'T take care of all that stuff, Tommy.

I mean, shit... If you're gonna be in the doghouse anyway...

I do things because I want to do them. If people can't appreciate what you do because they don't see it, screw it. The important thing is you know that you do them. I'd write a letter expressing my belief about this but it would turn up later and somehow be held against me as evidence. I think the guy who lays praise on a woman, hugs her, holds her and doesn't do shit gets a much better break than the guy who busts his ass to provide for and care for his family. Not every guy is the huggy, feely, touchy type of guy. After 27 years together how much touchy feely does a guy really want. I always read and hear about these couples that are madly in love after 30,40,50 years or more. WTF is in their diet. I must need some of it. Married, having pets and a caring relationship are supposed to add to longevity. I guess that's if it doesn't kill you first.

I think one of the big problems in my relationship is that we don't talk about adult things.

We just deal with the kids, and tolerate each other. We don't take time for ourselves. I'm interested in that, but my wife isn't. She just wants to be a mom. She's not particularly interested in being a spouse.

It might get better if we talked about it, but it probably won't if we don't.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is maybe you two need to sit down and talk about it. But no need to take my advice, since I don't take it my own self.

Could be worse... I could be single. THAT would suck. At least we have the benefit of some great kids and two incomes.

Plus, I had to co-sign for her Toyota, and she had to co-sign for my Mustang. So I guess we really DO need each other.

But that's all I have to say about that.

Somebody say something smart and funny! Lord knows it can't be me!

Good day gurus. The mrs and I have a great relationship. We do talk about things all the time. It's my second go around and her third. I have had to live my deluxe dog house for six months due to job relocation and still doing it. The one thing we got out of it is she really appreciates the chores I did now that she has had to do them and I for the ones she does. I guess I'm lucky she doesn't take that stuff for granted. One good thing is that at the next house I get to get my choice of lawn/shop tools that I want/need with in reason.

OhBoyOhBoyOhBoyOhBoy!!!!

I just talked to the guy who wants me to do the TV ad for the street survival school.

Turns out there is an autocross in Colorado Springs this Saturday. He invited me to come out, and encouraged me to bring a helmet if I had one. Which I do...

Hot damn!

Is that ad going to be available to all the schools?

We were just discussing how to better promote survival since we're in th process of setting up this years schools.

Morning guys...It's been very hectic this morning. I guess I'm one of those that seems to have a perfect marriage (Yea right). My wife is very appreciative of the things I do. Just sometimes, it seems she doesn't like to see me relax....uhg. I don't complain as she mows and takes care of the yard, she shovels the snow (I'll help, but she takes the initiative). I take care of the cars, the house and work on my extra cabinet jobs.

Have a good day.

Snow here again. Cabin fever had gotten so bad I thought I would have to be committed, but then winter depression started setting so I guess I might end up level. We'll see.

Greetings, Gurus.

I had a rough night last night, and didn't sleep well. Fortunately, I don't have any place to be on my work calendar today so I was able to sleep in.

There are a lot of things that Andy takes care of around the house, for which I am particularly grateful. Especially now that I can't do a lot of the physical things.

Word of the Day for Tuesday, February 9, 2010

vitiate
\VISH-ee-ayt\, transitive verb:

1. To make faulty or imperfect; to render defective; to impair; as, "exaggeration vitiates a style of writing."
2. To corrupt morally; to debase.
3. To render ineffective; as, "fraud vitiates a contract."

Vitiate comes from Latin vitiare, from vitium, fault. It is related to vice (a moral failing or fault ), which comes from vitium via French.

Tommy went to the seafood buffet last night. He was sick this morning - must've been the vitiate.

Congrats on the video, Chris!

I like my wife and she likes me and somewhere in there love gets thrown in. I tell the family, 1 wife 3 kids, that we are a team and we need to all do our parts to make things work around here. They all looked at me for a second or two then burst out laughing and all of them piled into the Tahoe and headed for the mall. They know I'm the head coach though, I'm sure of that.
