Good Morning CGs!

Happy Friday!

Can you believe it's the end of the month already!?! I have some errands to do today. I have to run to the bank and shuffle some money around, hit the post office, and do a few little tasks around the house. Tonight is the rehearsal for the wedding tomorrow.

Well I actually found a pair of running shoes the other day when we went shopping. That's surprising because it usually takes me about 4 months to find shoes I like. I'm picky to an insane degree. Total, it took me about 5 or 6 stores to find this pair. I got some nike running shoes that are very comfortable and give good support. So I took them for a test run last night. Felt great as far as the shoes go. Unfortunately, I haven't run now in about 3 years, I do other forms of exercise for my cardio. But it felt good. No cramping or pain. I did a little loop through the neighborhood and then went back and drove it to see the distance. 1.6 miles in 12:17. Not too bad for my first time out, but not what I'd like. That's an 8 minute mile, I'd like to get back down to around 6:30s for the race I have coming up. I don't expect to win, but I'd like to do ok. It's more of a personal thing than anything else.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Happy Friday!

I am either onto something or on something - last night I discovered that my exhaust is contacting my cross-frame, so I stuffed a little wad of heat blanket in between, and the car sounds less obnoxious now. I didn't have time for a permanent remedy last night, but I'll use some persuasion on the cross-frame over the weekend.

Hope everyone has smooth sailing into the weekend!

Good Morning All,

I drove the Vette to work today. First time driving it since the end of January. I'm digging the new stuff in the interior and the new stereo is awesome. The XM antenna is fading more than I like when I get into the shadows of tall trees along the road sides. Anyhow, its like having a new car again. I didn't know how much I missed pushing the gas pedal down.

Shoes -- I'm not a shoe guy at all. My wife is always telling me to go buy myself new shoes, but I hate shopping for them and you can figure on spending $75 to $100 or more on good shoes which I always have better things to spend that money on. Although if I was getting my fat butt into running again I know I'd need a good pair of shoes for the activity.

I'm crossing my fingers for a rain free Sunday so the drag races go as planned. They are calling for 30% rain. Maybe that front will stall a little bit and we will be ok.

Hope you all have a great day!

Well good morning gurus. I was blindsided last night. My middle daughter came in to say that she and her husband were splitting up. She asked to be able to move back in with us until she can get back on her feet, so before school is out we will have her and the three boys living with us. This situation is making me rethink my retirement plans. I am going to talk to my principal today about my staying on for another year....not sure about the correct procedure since I have officially resigned.

Didn't sleep to well last night....I hope all you gurus have a wonderful day.

Morning Gurus. Yesterday I got my new phone.

I got an HTC Droid Incredible.

It's a very cool phone if anyone is in the market for a new internet phone I recommend either it or the Eris, which we got Sarah for free by buying my phone. Buy one get one free.

Tom - seems like things have a way of resolving over time. I hope everything works out ok for your daugther and your family. It's great that she has a dad like you to support her during a difficult time.

I love my DROID. I think the Android OS is pretty good and it amazes me every day what these little phones are capable of.

for example: last week in Georgia there was a photographic mural on a wall. It was a very old image of Times Square, but it was still difficult to determine if it was actually New York. Another guy with us swore it was Chicago.

Out comes DROID. Using Google's Goggle Ap, I photographed the wall and Goggle scanned the image and found the same image on line and verified it was New York City in the late 1800s. Pretty Cool Stuff.

After 4 days of crap weather, it's going to be really nice for a while.

Last night, I was made Chief of Tech for the Reno Region SCCA. Guess I'll have to act "responsible" now at the track.

Tom, Guess you got hit by Murphy's Law, things happen. You can put up a "No one under 21 Allowed" sigh on th cabinet shop.

Don, I limit my shopping to 20 minutes......a Year.

Tommy, Where R U ?

Good Morning!!! After a long night, today I get a little break with students. Tonight is the senior prom, so my seniors and many juniors are gone and Monday is senior skip day. They are getting their tuxs, flowers and waxing their cars. Ah the memories!!

Tom I'm in the rethinking process of my retirement also! Sorry to hear about your daughter!!! Thats sad in so many ways!!

Have a great day Guru's I think I'll wander down to the academic wing and create a little stress in their lives. This would be a great job if it wasn't for the students. This place is empty...looks like the soph and freshmen have taken flight! Cool

Thanks guys for the support. I just finished talking to the Principal...he's very glad that I have reconsidered. The position will change somewhat. He's been interviewing the candidates as teaching 4 periods high school and two middle school, so it looks like I will have a different schedule for next year. Maybe a year from now I can let it go. I will be retiring anyway and will be "double-dipping". My pension doesn't change, but I will have to work for a reduced salary. Doesn't matter, I'll be money ahead and the difference isn't that much.

I'm glad that I'm in a position to be able do this for my daughter and grandsons.

Had a full day and more today Bill. Finished painting the trailer, deivered some palm trees and cut the grass at the nursery. Went to a Casino Night fundraiser from 07:00 to 10:00. My wife bought a few items through a silent auction. Stuff she uses at work. She picked up a few bargains.
