This was my first year attending Bloomington Gold. I wish I could have taken the vette, but it is still not dialed in 100%. Anyway, I got there and immediately met up with Ron and Jason and chatted with them for quite some time. After that, I hit the vendors aisles. I found that there were a lot of older c1-c3 parts, but very few newer parts. And the parts that were there were expensive, and some were crap. I'm sure a few people found great deals, but I didn't. I did score some rtv and miscellaneous sealant stuff for a steal, but that's it. The corvette tax was alive and well with the t-shirt vendors, some of whom wanted upwards of $28 for a short sleeve t-shirt!

Walking the grounds was amazing. To see all those vettes in one place was quite a spectacle. What I found weird was almost no one was by their car. I wanted to talk to people about some interesting cars, but they were nowhere to be found. Most surely walking around the vendor area/auction like I was, but I still thought I'd see more people than I did. I only caught a minute or two of the auction, but the prices were looooow. It seemed like not much was selling. I think a nice 62 went for like $41,000. Some c4 drivers weren't even getting $5,000 bids. I saw a restomod that cost around $120,000 to build not get over $40,000. That was on Saturday. Maybe the other days were better. Overall I had a great time. I'd like to drive my car next time, and hopefully they bring in a few more vendors, local repair shops, etc. I don't know how much the vendor fee is, but I'm sure it's pricey. Now on to the pictures.

I like to take pictures of the cars that interest me (loooove resto mods) and unusual, unique, or well done cars. Here are a few:

Beautiful 67 Restomod done by Jason from V2V's dad, Dan Francis. He started a company NTS - New Technology Stingrays in Colorado. www.ntstingrays.com Corvetteron has some nicer pics than me.

Nice! Thanks. Is it possible to build a C2 from aftermarket parts?

that C3 chassis looks like it's running a C5/6 suspension out back.

The Trophy blue is a 66, the one with side pipes is a 64 (not original to 64, but I love those sidepipes as well).

I want to go to Bloomington some day. Thanks for the report.

Seems like someone has a penchant for resto-vettes. I like them too. Body of the old with chassis and engine upgrades of the new.
