Now all you'll need is a speed bump/sidewalk hump deflector plate. Are you still gonna cruise it or are you mostly going to track it? You have the pick up truck. Do you have a long ramped trailer? Just wondering .....

Yes
Yes
and yes

one of the nice things about coilovers is the ability to adjust the ride height.

I may raise the front a little just so the race tires won't rub.

I had one guy with coils that had that problem on the track but he was definately too low to start.
Probably messed his alignment up a bit when he raised it at the track.
Definately something to check after your first session.

I've been keeping my builder busy modifying suspension parts, man I wish I could weld, so I can't fault him for not having it done yet ;)

Just got back from my Corvette Club's meeting, which gave me a chance to go for a nice long drive on a variety of roads.

WOW what a difference.

Not only is the ride better, but it takes offramps like they weren't even there.

A kidney belt is no longer required.
Rough roads not only don't bother it, but the car has grip on them to boot.

That got my attention.

Which coilovers? Shocks? Spring rates?

Penske double adjustables with Hardbar dual rate springs.
I bought them used off another forum member for $2,500.
and converted them for use on a C4, C5/6's use different ends.
The beauty about these is that you can rebuild them yourself right at the track.
You can have all the power in the world, but if you can't get it to the ground, it won't do you any good.

The dual rate springs can be fitted to any coilover shock.

In the past..
you could either pick a spring that would make it handle great on a flat track, but bouce all over the place on a rough road.
Or you could pick a soft compliant spring that would give it a great ride, stick to the little bumps, but do poorly when the going got fast.

But that's no longer the case...
With the dual rates, you have a soft spring that not only helps with rough roads, but helps you stick to them better as well. Then the stiff springs kick in when they are needed. So, in a sense, they are self adjusting as well.

I wouldn't put it past him, lol, but the toolbox might do more laps than the car.

Put some crazy swaybars on there to reduce body roll and fender rub.

Have you looked into an adjustable swaybar also?

Not that hard.
relief the pressure, a couple of snap rings and they come apart. You just need a nitrogen tank to recharge it.

I already went from the base springs to the Z07 bars

Now I have solid links, which should make a big difference in reaction time.

You should budget $200 towards a camera, lol.

Did you do coilovers and the banski at the same time? I honestly have a reallly hard time understanding how coilovers in back would effect the ride unless the coils were progressive rate or just softer.

the springs are dual rate, which is one reason they really help out.

Get to try out the new suspension Sunday, looking forward to it!
