As is the usual for me, I get consumed by the big picture and forget that the most important thing is to live each day well. One day at a time. It's an old concept but I often forget it. Live in the moment. Don't project to much nor dwell to much on yesterday. If I concentrate on what I'm supposed to do today and be productive with the time allotted I can actually have a very nice day. A string of nice days can make a nice week, month, year and beyond. There I go projecting again. Have a great Guru day.Don't forget to stop and smell the roses. Move quickly away from some of the other smells you may encounter.

Greetings! My problem is that I just start getting a string of good days going, and then Monday rolls around.

Morning guys, very philosophical Tommy. Well maybe mine started yesterday, as I did absolutely nothing. Watched TV most of the day. First the Royals (who got beat mercilessly by the Yankees) and then later on I watch the Mile-High Nationals. In between I polished the wheels on the Corvette.

Have a good day.

Me too (except for the wheel thing), it's the only racing on TV that I actually watch.

I'm doing too much polishing but, it's removing brown stuff looking for shiny stuff underneath.

Good afternoon guru's. Had some minor painting to do at my daughters house this morning, pressure washed her deck and edged her drive way and walks.
I have to interview another student teacher today at 3:30. Hope this works out! he's a local kid from Purdue University and has had experience with woods. Maybe he can replace me next school year.
The technology teacher I interviewed last week didn't work out, he was intimidated by the table saw and the WOODS course.
Have a great day guys, Oh yea Tommy I like your Philosophy! I'm trying!

My chore for today was to take Jay's vette out and have the powder coated calibers put on. Custom seat covers and fuel rail covers get done later this week.

What he said. Car looks great, btw.

Wifey and I took the rugrat to the zoo today. Was a nice time. She even got a stuffed monkey that she fell in love with at the store (half off, too!). Plan on getting in a workout then cutting some grass. I also have to thin out the peach tree a bit and do some clean up around the house. My younger cousin is supposed to visit later for a couple days. He just graduated college and doesn't have anything to do before grad school starts. I might teach him useful things tomorrow, like how to replace a faucet valve and toilet flap...lol. We've also got some bushes and trees to trim. Get to work!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

He is doing good. His duty for the last month has been staging the alert status jets. Which means his 12 hour shift is primarily waiting in the air conditioned alert 'hut' in case they get an order to scramble. Iraq is a lot quieter for him than it was in Afghanistan last year.
He has about 6 weeks left to go in Iraq, then two weeks in Spain and then back to the US. It will sure be good to know when he is back stateside.

Thanks for asking.

I remember a time while I was stationed in Germany. A few of us went out to an exotic dance club. One of the dancers produced a fully equipped stuffed monkey and she proceeded to ........... nevermind ........

4 days left at my current position then I am transferring to another division which will involve a lot of travel. Going to find myself in Salt Lake City for a few weeks in Aug.

Hey, way to take an innocent, sweet moment with a 2 year old and turn it dirty. Remind me to punch you next time I see you
