Does anybody here use fuel cut-off rev limiter?
Stock setting is something like 10000 rpms. I was wondering if anybody uses it and what difference in rpms do you use for fuel cut-off enable/disable?! |

I've been helping a friend to program his '87 383 L98.
After seeing the pictures from your previous mess, we went ahead and put the rev limiter at 6000. Now he uses it sort of as a feature and loves it. He puts his automatic in 2 gear and rides it up to 6000, after hitting the rev limiter he shifts manually into 3rd. Now he can have his eyes on the road and doesn't need to worry about the revs anymore. Like I said, he loves it. |

I had Mick program mine in. Even though it's a LTR setup, I didn't want to take any chances. I had him set mine at 6000 if I recall correctly.

Pick a difference in the 50rpm range. So, if you turn off at 6250rpms,,,have it turn back on at 6200.

PCM4Less removed both of mine. I wish I had it in my automatic.

Bruno,
I thought you had a 6al in the car? If so put in the pill for rpm desired. I'm not a fan of cutting fuel and would rather cut spark as rev limiter but if concerned a fuel cut is better than nothing. What rpm were you planning on as a shift point? I would go approx. 100rpm above the shift point with approx. 75rpm difference. Mick |

NO, I still have completely stock HEI system. I plan to upgrade, but not just yet. I'll set it to 6800. I plan to rev it to 6500-6700 max. but just for insurance. So 50-75 rpms difference should work! Thanks guys! |

I can't see using the rev limiter/fuel cut-off as a shift point. Your friend's engine may be running on borrowed time. |
