Good Morning CGs!

Had an unexpected change in weather that is a good thing From a high in the 40s the other day, it was in the 50s yesterday, should be 62 today, and 68 tomorrow. Not so bad! Now if we could continue this trend through April I'd be ok.

Not a whole lot to report. Pretty tame around the house lately, falling in to the groove. That's what I want to avoid...lol. I am planning on a nice run tonight - maybe 7-8 miles just to see how the legs feel. I am 99% on signing up for that race at the end of the month, so I need to keep up the miles. Should be fun.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Greetings! The alarm clock was not a welcome sound this morning. It's been decent here - low 60's yesterday and mid 60's today, but the bottom is supposed to drop out later this week. I'll enjoy it while it lasts.

Have a good day, all!

Howdy Folks!
Happy Monday

Been out of the loop for a while, so first things first!
Congrats on the baby, Matthew!

Been a long--(very long) year here...things really aren't going as planned, and taking this job is turning out to be the worst decision I've ever made...

Working on exit stragegy now, and I'm SO very glad we decided to keep the house in NC...Probably the best decison I've ever made! SO, It evens out!
We'll see..

Good Morning!

Nice and cool here today. Not frigid yet but nice fall weather.

I talked with my engine builder briefly yesterday. He came out to the autocross race to check it out. He started the disassembly but no specifics to the cause of the failure. I plan to stop by there one night this week and take a peek. He has my heads too, and said that he feels the intake ports are too smooth, causing some pooling of fuel. He should have the rest of it apart later in the week.

After this weekend's Autocross event, I'm sure we will be buying our own timing equipment in the near future. We partnered with another club and the equipment belonged to them. Although, I don't think the problems we had with the timing equipment was the fault of the operators.

Hope you all have a good day!

I'm headed to HD to get the compressor. I decided to do it today because thay have 2 on the floor. One has a motor made in Shanghi, the other has a Marathon (USA). Guess which one I'm getting.

Stopped at Lowe's to look at the Campbell compressors, they're identical to the Husky (of course) but they're $30 more (for the blue paint I guess).
They also had the Chinese motors.

Bill, our Powermatic Bandsaws are 4 years old and have Chinese Motors. We replace 2/year. Last time they(Powermatic) replaced the motors with US made, been going strong for a whole year now. Importers use half the windings to save weight for reduced costs shipping from China.

Afternoon Gurus... Been busy again. Definitely the motors made in China suck. David, sorry to hear that things aren't working out for you in MO. I guess we all make mistakes, it's a learning experience.

Weather here is perfect....74* and light breeze. I'm headed home after school to wash the pickup after the trip to KC. It made around 19 mpg coming and going....not bad for a 5000# vehicle (with luggage and people). I held the speed to limit +5 mph (70 and 75). The wind was really blowing against us yesterday coming home.

Well I'm home. Good to read you David. Sorry to hear about the job. I'm sure you'll find something positive to pull out of it.

Don. Timing equiptment is fickle. It's great when everything goes without a hitch. Other days ....

Run Fore... I mean, Run Matt, run!

I say to Chinese motors, I got the compressor with a made in USA, Marathon motor. How the hell did that happen? All the others there had Chinese motors. That's why I bought it today.

Had a good visit with the family. Sis is pretty weak, niece is coming along after her quadruple bypass. Mom danced up a storm Saturday night at the Hungarian club. I bought some honey from a guy that extracts his own and some home made Keilbasa. That's on the menu for tonight. Just resting up a bit after the 4 1/2 hour drive. XM Deep Tracks kept me entertained along the way. Not too bad of a drive.

Thanks Tommy! Yep, I've learned quite a bit....Life lessons, shall we say!

Looks like I can go back to my old job of 20years and pick right up where I left off. We're going to work out the details when we're back in NC for Christmas...
We still have our house (that we had fixed up just the way we wanted before I decided to take us on this 'adventure'), so I'm very fortunate....
