Gamornin. Is this month just flying by or is it just me thinking it is? I have to go out to the nursery for a few hours this afternoon. Wifey has a couple Dr's appointments then and she wants me to mind the store. I'm gonna pay some bills and review some paperwork this morning. Sounds like fun, aye? Lets's open the week by getting the ball rolling.

Good Morning CGs!

Well, it's come to that season that when you wake up in the morning the house is cold, even with the heat on overnight....brrrr. It should be a high of 52 today. Where is the nice warm weather?

Been driving the vette the last few days and enjoying it. I know that soon it will be in a winter slumber. After that, I have a few projects lined up. But it will wait until there is snow on the ground.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Hidey-ho! No 50's here - maybe high 30's, hope at least some of the snow melts. I feel like I'm about a quart low on coffee.

Speaking of projects, I pulled my trans out yesterday. This week I'm going to be busy, but I may start the tear down process by this weekend let me know when your availble and I'll wait till then to tear it down so you can see what's envolved..

anyway I must have been exhausted this weekend.. I slept the longest I probably ever have.. after I got home from working on the vette, I went to sleep around 5pm got up at 10pm for a little bit and went back to bed till this morning..

Tomorrow night and later this week I have my re-cert test for ASE so hopefully they all go well...

Talking about sleep... Saturday, I played hard at Hooters! I came home and went out with the wife. Got up early yesterday and drove four hours up to PeteK's house to drop off the transmission. Stayed there and chatted for a good while, then turned around and came back home. I was whipped by the time I got home and laid down to take a nap around 6pm. I didn't get up again until 5:30 this morning. I needed that for sure.

Now that the engine and tranny are out for rework, I'll focus on cleaning and getting some other things on the Vette ready for the new drivetrain when it arrives later this year or next.

Have a great day!

Good morning Guru's! Severe clear weather which means its cold outside. I have a head cold and its making me not want to do much but there is much to do. I should take something for it. Didn't the Irish have a cure for the common cold?

I see Obama has listed Hanoi Jane as one of the top women in the last 100 years. I'm sorry I can't go with that after what she did to our guys in Vietnam. I know she has asked for forgivness and that she was stupid in her youth, but still. She won't get my vote and she needs to be off the list! WTH!

Gotta go make the living, have a good day!

Morning guys...it's been a busy morning....not sure what I've gotten done but the morning is half gone and I haven't been able to get anything done.

At least the kids have been working diligently without having to call for me for help.

Don, glad that you got the tranny up to Pete, he'll get you going. What's the word on the engine? Mercury in Uranus.....doesn't that burn some? Hanoi Jane needs to ...oh never mind, she's not worth the words. Just consider the source of her nomination. Weather here is supposed to be in the 50's slightly overcast and no breeze, it got pretty cold last night. We still haven't turned on the heater, it got down to about 65 in our bedroom, so we can last it out for a little while yet.

I'll try to check in later.

Most of our course workers have a tree or a pole to use for a block. I hope they were'nt spectators. "OUCH" In this case a wall would have been a good thing.

Understeer is hitting the wall with the front of the car
- Oversteer is hitting the wall with the rear of the car
- - Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall
- - - Torque is how far you push wall

The gang here runs at the airport, no poles, nothing to hid behind. But part of the course is usually 50 feet from a taxiway.

By the way Bill. You not too far off on your comment. I've had my C4 backwards, sideways, skidding out of control like that driver and a few doughnuts. All that weight forward with locked brakes = going straight. They teach us both feet in. (brake and clutch)

Ha, I've had mine that way just showing a student the correct line in one corner.

Not really.

But I have been upside down.

Good news! Scored 4 tickets to the Craftsman Truck series finale Friday Night here at Homestead. I went to the races religiously for almost a decade but have slipped away from the NASCAR circuit and watching racing in general. Two years ago we sat in a skybox. This time I'll be down with the peasants again. Free seats. All we have to buy is eats and drinks. It's a short race under the lights. It's usually pretty enjoyable. Half the crowds of the other two circuits that are in town. In the olden days I had a pretty liberal beer budget. Watching it sober has never been the same. Most of my buds started at the crack of dawn with a breakfast made on Coleman stoves and ended with a post race BBQ. Gave Hammer-Time a whole different meaning. Lots of my old amigos still go. Many of you know what I'm talkin about.

A few years back I sat with Todd Bodine for about 1/2 hour just chatting. He was telling me about his aspirations and securing sponsors for the race team. Pretty cool dude. Reminded me a little of Ron Howard (actor/director). Racing is different from the inside. It's a full time and a half job.

Watching that autocross video again. I've seen that one before too. I was thinking if that happened to my club during one of our events, I don't know if we'd be able to recover and have another event. It would take some serious safety analysis as to the cause and what unsafe conditions resulted in this person getting caught up in the slide.

We have poles like Tommy said, but we don't let spectators anywhere near course. I think the closest is 25ft with a fence between them and the course and the cars are moving away from and not into the area.

That is a galvanizing image of the person getting tossed into the air!
