Good Morning everyone. Still half asleep. Got a good nights rest. Needed it. I have to go out and wait for the ice machine repair man to show up at the nursery. Later, go look at a house. Another full day in store. Have a great day all.

Good morning guys....I'm up early as well. My principal and the office staff are putting on a breakfast for the teacher this morning, so i have to go in early (I'm not one to turn down a free meal). Then a shortened schedule today as we are showing a Christmas movie this afternoon; and then we are on Christmas break until January 3. Got to go, I'll check in later.

Oh Gawd I have a headache! It snowed here yesterday. Not much, but two inches gets the district and surrounding areas in a real panic as idiots try to get home from work all at the same time. I was in Crystal City, VA which is not far from DC and the Pentagon area. It took me three and half hours to get home. The 35 mile drive/commute would normally take about an hour. Anyway... back to the headache, I trudged through the snow to one of the local pubs we have here within walking distance with one of my neighbors. We played Keno and drank some beers and ate ribs. What a great night. Now I'm paying for it. I need to focus and get working... ouch.

Chat some more later

Good Morning. Finished up my Christmas Shopping Last night. Great feeling. The Mall was open until 11pm. When you walk through Macys your covered with all the perfume smells. My Carhart jacket smells like a Chanel Factory.
School is dead this morning, students decided to take an early start to their Christmas Break. Choir is in the hallway singing Carols and paasing out candy canes. We have 3 Santas 1 Black, 1 Hispanic, 1 Polish Kid, we left out our Chinese Kid, but he is good with it! Ten ways to Wok your rain deer. He is a hoot! He says he gets the last laugh all Santa stuff made in happy home land round eyes!! Cool. Marching Band is in the hallway now. It would be a real bitch fest to watch the choir and band get into it! . Imagine Glee but more fem!
Well guys I have 2 students the other 3 are in the home ec. dept. watching Shriek 9. Chinese Kid is getting hyper now band is playing Rudolph the Red Nose Rain Deer. Claims he is hungry for crispy fried cat and rain deer balls!
Damn I need to retire and write a fricking book, this shit is funny!

Har! Back in the day I used to always make sure to take 2 aspirin with a big glass of water, and chow down a couple of Tums before plopping into bed, just as a precaution. Never had much of a hangover.

Glad that the weekend is almost here, and that my Christmas shopping is done. Now if I had it all wrapped I'd be in good shape.

Have a great Friday, everybody!

I thought all the ice you needed was covering my strawberries outside?

We had some snowfall last night, the kind that makes the roads extra slick. Some of it is still on the ground now, but looks like they roads are cleared. I've got a full day of work on my plate. I'll get home around 8 tonight. Ugh. I'll try to catch up on tech posts later!

Hope everyone has a great day!

We have a Christmas Breakfast also, Ham,egg, dish with frieghtening red and green stuff in it. Reminds me of mystery meat and road kill in college. Hispanic teachers call it Mexican Surprise. So if I get the Hershey Squirts later on I "won't be surprised". Spicey Hot!

That'sn always cracked me up Don, even when I lived just north of you.

They don't even get the plows out here for 2 inches. We call it a "dusting".

What really amazed me yesterday, is that they shut down Andrews AFB where I work, and told all non-essential personnel to go home. (This was much the case all through the National Capitol region yesterday) I got back to base from Crystal City around 1:30 pm with maybe an inch to two inches accumulated. At that time there was a mass exodus from Andrews. Everyone was trying to get out the main gate as the the other popular gate has been closed for construction. That left two other minor gate on the back side open which nobody would take because they are a "goat-rope" just to get back on the main highways. It was just crazy. It took me at least 40 minutes just to get off the base and onto Rt. 4 heading home. I think I would have just left the base open and let people leave as they so choose, instead of closing all at once. The roads were indeed a little slick, but when you have masses of stupid government workers trying to all get home at the same time... well it gets a little bit crazy. Oh yeah I hope it comforts you that these are the people running your country! LOL

Yea, the beltway (any city) needs help.

Maybe DC should follow California's "Protect The Idiots" program.

On I80, you approach this pickup/camper who's checking every car for chains or snowtires.
And these helpful folks will put your chains on for only $40.

Wouldn't add that much time to the commute would it?

Cold and cloudy here. I have to apologise To TeeBee, that nice weather did show up after lunch yesterday, clear and high 40's. It did not stay around long though. I better start thinking about what to get everyone for Christmas. I will go see whats left this weekend.

Tommy we got all the ice you need up here and you don't need no machine to make it. Of course transporting it would be a bitch. Have a safe day Guru's!

You guys are cracking me up. Hey, our breakfast was pretty good....breakfast casserole, either bacon or sausage with homemade biscuits. I'm through half my classes today already. Don't apologize, I'm sending some nastier stuff your way.

It has snowed here, but not even covering the ground, just enough to make the sidewalks slick. Hell, if it's going to o snow let's make it worthwhile.

Hell, yea, let it snow, let it snow.

If it snows too much, the guberment's new spending bill includes an earmark to bring snow-cat-kitchens to you.

For anything over one foot anywhere in the U.S. except in D.C. where the requirement is dropped to 2 inches (congressional limos get stuck in 3 inches).

Mailed off the last of the Christmas packages this morning.
Then came back home and finished putting in the new RR wheel bearing/hub and took it for a test drive - all good.
It was in the 60s yesterday and low 50s today, so good time to get it done before the weather turns cold again tomorrow.
The other side is still OK and will wait for nice weather again.

Ya know, if I took one of those southern Gurus (like someone who plays outside with plants in the winter) to the slopes, it would probably look like this:
