Well today is a day I always remember. It's my deceased sisters birthday and the day my father died way back in 1968. It's one of those memories that are locked in time. You can remember detail after detail. I'm not gonna dive into any remorseful emotions. Just a passing thought. Now I have to get busy. I have alot of stuff to do. Have to concoct a pump house for the new pump and pressure tank. I'm gonna see if any of those new fangled plastic toolsheds at the Lowes or HD will fit over. Can I possibly be that lucky? Will still have to make some cuts for the tubing. If not ... Time for some 2x4's, plywood, nails and hardware. Chat with ya'll later ...........

Good Morning CGs!

BREAKING NEWS.....IMPORTANT.....MUST READ:

Remember that cd I lost a few months ago? The one I was all po'd about and looked for everywhere? Well, I found it. My daughter likes to play with the cds/dvds and she had taken it and stuffed it in a drawer with a bunch of other cds under the tv cabinet. That's the important news. I know you can all sleep better at night. Over.

Tommy, how big is the pump that needs to be housed? I'm assuming it's quite large based on your description. We have one of those rubbermaid sheds and it's great. Never rots or rusts like the old sheds we've had in the past. Best news was it was free. My neighbor wanted to clean up his backyard and was gonna throw it out, so I took it down for him and got it for free. I had been pricing them out that week to buy and it was around $500! So they are not cheap, but are durable.

I'd like to tinker in the garage today, don't think it's gonna happen.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

PS - sorry it's a bummer day for you, Tommy. Hope you don't dwell on the bad stuff!

Good morning! Yeah, we all have those kind of days etched in our memories. A good time to try to think of happier times with those who have gone. My father-in-law's funeral was on my wife's birthday, so she hasn't enjoyed her birthday much for the last 18 years.

Have a good day, everyone - do something that makes you grin!

It's rainy and cold here today! Kind of gloomy.
I'm working from the house today so I didn't have to do the morning commute, thank God!!

I'm trying to get people to go to my Clubs Facebook page and "Like" it. Apparently the other Corvette Club of America started a page also and are trying to hog me out. Here is my page's link if you want to go and "Like" it! LOL

Corvette Club of America Inc.

A little history - this should be in another thread but I'll just cover the basics. My club is the first Corvette club ever chartered in the United States. This was back in 1956; Dr. Dick Thompson and some other local automotive big wigs started all of this back then, here in the Washington DC area with the intent of going national with CCA. However, just a few short years later in 1959 met up with several clubs that had then been formed, including a Michigan club, a California club and Midwestern club to create the National Council of Corvette Clubs now known as the NCCC.

Fast forward to 1994 when Chevy opened the Bowling Green factory and subsequently the NCM opened; some entrepreneur saw that it would be a great money making venture to create a Corvette Club of America. So they did. It was and is really more of a fan club where people join from all over and get little or nothing from the organization except a membership card and the ability to say they belong to Corvette Club of America. There is no real organization or significant planning that I see. Its just really confusing for people when they see multiple Corvette Clubs of America and have no clue what either organization stands for or what they are about. Both clubs have websites. ours is a .org and theirs is .com and many people mistake their crappy website and organization for mine!

I'm mad at my club for allowing this to happen back when it did, and there is not much I can do about it today except promote our club and the true history of how it was started.

Sorry for the diatribe!! Off my soapbox now

Matt, the pump is small (1 hp) the pressure tank is kinda large. Like about 2 ft at the base and about 39" tall. The slab is 5' by 5'4". Should be able to get by with something a little smaller. I'm going to see what's out there. I'm sure I'll come up with something. I'm just hoping for easy. You know what that means? It'll be a mofo.

Oh gurus, my gurus...

Well, here I sit in Northeast Ohio looking at a possible 1 to 3 inches of sloppy wet snow tonight and another 4 to 8 tomorrow. Guess the best thing I can do is sit back and remember that one week from today I will be at the racetrack in Sebring.

Tommy, Maybe you could "acquire" a porta-potty. Sounds like about the right size.

Have fun ken, wish I was going to Sebring.
I am going to the racetrack next week but I'll be teaching and evaluating new driving instructors.

Good morning everybody! Feeling a little more up to speed today. Hope to get some work done. It is cold and clear out today but warm is coming I am told. Tommy you just have to balance those days with the good ones. I try to have more good ones than the other kind.

Don, maybe you should add something to the title of your club like, Since 1956, or something of that nature. Something that denotes the history of the club. That's impressive that Dick Thompson was in on the formation of the club. Maybe, We can kick that other clubs ass! That would send a message.

Have a good day today guru's.

Too Funny! No we don't have to exhibit "Club Rage" here! No big deal, just aggravating.

By the way Marcus, do you have photos of your heat shield install? I bought the materials and started making patterns but it is a mighty irregular surface under there. It seems difficult to make a neat job of it.

Army Recruiters are here for the last time this school year. Quite a few students are taking the plunge to the service. No jobs and an uncertain career opportunity in this area...the Army looks pretty good!
Weather sucks today, snow, blowing, cold, DAMN!
I know what you mean by events in your life locked in time Tommy!
Well guys the Army Sgts. are doing a good job, I think they can handle my gangbangers, I think I will wander the hall ways!

Ya..... A clean and empty one. Looks like I'll need about a 4'x 4' cube. Thinking 2"x 2"s and 1/2" plywood. Just need something to keep it out of the weather and out of sight. Theives love pumps. Quick money. They like A/C units too. Leave property sitting too long or abandoned and stuff just disappears around here. If they can't see it they might leave it alone. All they'd see is a big box. Smart thieves know what's in it and will steal it if they want it. Don't care how you secure it.

Don, these will be hard to figure out since I was laying on my back under the car. I used Thermo - Tec adhisive backed 12 x 12 sheets. After scrubbing the undersides and getting it all clean I held up the sheets and figured how they would fit and then cut accordingly. A lot of the areas the sheet just molded over the bends and changes in the surface. The passenger side was the toughest but it turned out ok.

It is not perfect by a long shot but should stay in place. I used some NAPA spray on contact adhesive on the last sheet because I did not get the area clean enough to begine with. I got it clean but the adhesive on the sheet was done by that time so I had to spray it. I will see down the road if I should have sprayed them all.

Hope that helps.

I cut strips out of the left over pieces and used those on some of the areas where two sheets came together. I also cleaned up and put the regular shielding back on so that is covering up some of the Thermo tec. I used 4 of the 12x12 sheets.

So, the temperature here is 55* but it's snowing at my house. 60's and sunny for the rest of the week.

My neighbor recommended a countertop installer to me. I stopped in this morning and he quoted $370 less than anyone else!!!! He'll be here Monday to make the template.

I went into the tile & stone store and told them I was pissed that the installer they recommended said he'd call me and meet me at the store then, the MF never called back.
They gave me a $100 discount on the stone, it will be in on Wednesday.

And the Maytag repair dude's coming tomorrow.

Maybe I can get this damn project finished.
