Good Morning.
Haven't quite put a day plan together yet but it will all come together soon.

There are so many beautiful places to see in this country. Though I haven't seen as many as I'd like, I ve seen quite a few. It has really only scratched the surface of the wonders that await in discovering America. My ex FIL recently sent us a card. He wrote that he enjoyed his time visiting with us recently. He offered some age old advice. Stay healthy, slow down and smell the roses. We all get caught up in the whirlwinds of our daily lives. I stop almost daily, a couple times a day, and look closely at the natural world that surrounds me. To sit at a picnic bench among the towering pines and listen to the songbirds, or on a blanket on a sandy beach viewing the rolling sea, the bank of a gurgling brook, or atop a snowcapped mountain overlooking the valleys below are all pleasures I need engage more. Sometimes those places make me fell like I'm living in a dream. What a great dream ......

Good Morning CGs!

Wet and cold today is the forecast. And cold with possible snow for the rest of the week. Not pleasant! I put insurance back on the vette this weekend since it was so nice, and now this crap

Tommy - I agree there are a lot more places I'd love to see. I haven't done enough traveling. Kids seem to want to eat and have clothing...things like that. Once they are older I'd like to tour the country....kind of like that guy did in his C2 in the link Brad posted before. But I'd do it in a new one

Not much else to report here. Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Good Morning guys...

Matt Congrats, You post whore!

Tommy - I have this same dream all the time but can't seem to get past the daily drudge of life to partake for real. My wife always says that she wants to travel to this foreign country or the other, but I really have no desire since I haven't seen enough of my own country. Can you tell I don't get out much? I traveled around the south quite a bit but not much else. I'd love to get out west and see more of the country. I guess the most exotic place for me as of late was Lake Tahoe about three years ago. It was a beautiful place. Bill is fortunate to be close to that kind of beauty.

I got a call last night that my engine is done, but for a number of reasons I'm just not all that excited. One, the final cost and what I owe him is at least $1800 more than I we originally discussed and expected. And then there is the timing of everything. I doubt if I will be able to go pick it up (meaning pay for it), then get it all back together by April 17th for my EVO Driving School.... and then there is a conference for work I'm supposed to attend the week of April 8th - 15th which is just too much right now! And for the icing on the cake, my wife is supposed to go in for surgery sometime in the next two weeks to begin her treatments for breast cancer.... Holy crap! Then there is Corvette Club stuff… I don’t know if there is an end in sight……. So sorry for the "Debbie Downer Post" this morning... I'm just releasing a little bit of anxiety I guess.

Release away, Don - much mojo to your Mrs.!

Lovely day here - had a nice coating of ice last night, followed by 6-12" of sloppy snow today. Spring has unsprung.

Hope y'all have a better day than we're having here!

Atta boy Matt, that's roughly 6 to 7 posts avg every day for years. I can only dream of being the P H's you guys are.

Tommy it's good advice, there is nothing better than a peanut butter and jelly sandwich while sittin in a field of wild flowers looking at a young field of corn. Listening to the meadowlarks singing. Mmmmm, that's living!

Don it will all get done. Don't rush it, do it right no matter how long it takes. You have more important things on your mind right now and those take priority. I will continue to pray all goes well with your Mrs.

If anyone gets out this way ever, there is a standing invite to a corn fed beefsteak about an inch and half thick and sizzling right off the grill. That's Nebraska cornfed beef.

Gotta go the worker guys need stuff to do. Have a good day everyone.

Good morning guys.....Don, that's why we're here. We are wishing the best for your wife. The car will come together when it comes together. Matt, that's quite an accomplishment, congrats. Tommy, make the most of our days, that's great advice. Brad, I hope spring gets there soon for you.

Weather here is going to be seasonably warm today and beings it is March, WINDY....again. I got the desktop done yesterday...short the spraying of the finish along the edges (which I will do this morning). Today I need to go to the wife's work and figure out why she can't print to one of her printers. This afternoon I will go over to the place where I did the counter top for the outdoor kitchen and give it a final polishing. The owners are hosting a get together-bbq on Sunday so I want the counter top to look it's best.

The wife, youngest GS and I will be headed for KC on Friday morning to visit the grands up there.

Well, I better get to it...later.

Here too. It's payback for the nice winter we had here.

I'm tired of shoveling the deck in case the granite guys get their act together.

I've been here 27 years and it still hits me once a week. I tell myself that I'm damn lucky to live here.

I have zero desire to travel out of the country but would like to take a trip to Idaho, Montana, etc.

But my real desire is to hit racetracks that I haven't been to.

Don, hope everything turns out great for your Mrs. and your motor/schedule. Sometimes it's amazing how the $$ keep growing when you mess with these cars.

It's supposed to be around 80 here today and then tomorrow it's only supposed to get up to 60 maybe.

Talked to Mick this morning. He said that I really shouldn't be driving my Vette until I get his base tune chip in it so I will be rocking the VW for the rest of the week maybe longer.

Got to go to my best friends wedding on Saturday. It's funny because they have been together for 12 years. He was always opposed to marriage and now that it's so close he is excited and she is the one who is suffering from cold feet.

Went out to lunch today and when driving back in to the base we saw an eagle sitting in a retention pond near some new construction. Just sitting there... in the middle of the nation's armpit!

Wow, that's very rare. I've only seen about 10 out here in 25 years.

Hey Don, Did you throw a rock at it and see if it flew? Maybe it was a plastic decoy. :tweety:

Did a drive by to see if they were working on the 91. Top is taped and papered. It's moving in the right direction. They have to do a little work on the front bumper where the P0 either hit something or some clown backed into it.
Waiting on the A/C compressor manifold gasket for the 90. It's on it's way from NJ. Tomorrow would be nice but Friday is the projected delivery date.

Don, same thing happened to me when I had mine built. I was hot. Luckily I'm a pretty good negotiator, so I had a few words with my builder and he knocked the price down. He's used to checkbook racers, not budget builders like me. Of course, he'd probably never answer my calls if I did need him, but oh well I'd never go back there anyway.

That's way more important than an engine! Best wishes for your wife and her recovery.

Weather has warmed up a bit today but still wet on the ground. I'm gonna try to drive the vette to work tomorrow if the streets are dry enough. You all know I'm not a waxer, I could care less about the water, just want to get traction!

Good Evening guys. Soooo this morning I try my only forum (Corvette Guru)I belong to and our School Corp has blocked it. I'm thinking it could have been my post yesterday regarding Hajee and ear collections. So I call the computer techies. They tell me its a new school corp policy regarding educational forums. Could big brother be getting nervous over teachers blogging about their days events and concerns. I think emails are read on a regular basis by some techiee and reported to the wannabes. I regularly get emails from old Navy buds, some that may contain four letter words never get through. New World Order??

I picked up the stone for my backsplash and layed a few out then realized, I got a chitload of stone to install.

The main tile is platinum silver quartzite with some random multi-color slate (reds, glods, blues).
Damn camera won't show how the platinum flashes.

The countertop has blue pearl in it that flashes under the light as you walk by. The blue's close to Admiral Blue.
