Appears to be a good April fools joke. The real joke is I wouldn't put it past any polotician from D.C. to try this. They alos didn't mention anyone who owns boats. Those can be expensive too. But then again where will it stop.

I hope that's a joke, but the story is dated 28 March. Many of these cars are taxed, registered, insured. Only a very few are not registered, and that is because they can't get insurance for a $20m Bugatti. And yes, capital gains is collected, especially at an auction site like Barret Jackson - they have to report the transactions due to their own income. This Senator, as usual, doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground. Additional revenue streams? Bullshit, we need additional expense dams. The system has gotten too damned big and too damned clumsy to do any good for any one. Reboot. |
