Good Morning...

I couldn't sleep again. Woke up at 4:30AM and have been up since. I washed two cars already and posted some photos. I'm going to cool off and drive down to AutoZone to buy a fuel pressure tester to screw into the fuel rail to see what is happening there. I think the engine tune is very close. I just need to do some things that Pete and Mick are suggesting to narrow down the shifting issue.

I was supposed to go with the buds this morning to a car show, but mine is not ready yet and I still feel a bit nervous about leaving Kathie for a major part of the morning.

Also - the race starts in an hour on Speed and I want to see the start!!

Good Morning CGs!

We are supposed to have a small crew come over today and rebuild our landscaping retaining wall in the front and back. Not sure though because the forecast calls for rain. It rained overnight already and is wet out there now...we'll see.

No chance to play with the car yesterday, I was busy with other stuff. I did get in a short run, though. Only 4 miles but my last mile I picked up the pace a minute faster, so that was tough. Still enjoyed it.

Still need to get cracking on the sump pump battery backup. I'll get there, I promise!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good mornin one and all.
The Everglades is on fire. It's been dry here for the past month or so. Smokey outside, the cars are dusty as hell. I'm gonna wash em and wipe them down this morning. They really need the interiors done too. That's a full days work right there. Goin to a bar mitzvah-bat mitzvah combined tonight. Oy! 2+ hour drive up. Many of the family are staying overnight but we're driving back after the party. Sue is working a show this weekend. A Summer Fruit Festival at a local park. Unlike a Polish event, about the strongest thing flowing will be some wine. Seems I've misplaced my motivation. Let me go find it.

Going out to put new rear shocks, new front speakers and do some datalogging.

Have a great day gurus!

Howdy! Looks like a couple nice days are forecast for this weekend - cool but sunny. Hopefully I will make a real good dent in getting the deck dismantled. Gonna head out there momentarily.

Have a good day, everybody!

Wow, lots of yous up this early.... I didn't sleep much Wednesday night, had some life drama, then found out more bad news on car so after work Thursday, I ran home, took a nap, tossed some chit together, was given a spare vette to drive (which surprised the shit out of me)... and beat feet to Milton, Florida. Chilled yesterday, ate at the Shrimp Basket last night, hitting flea markets in Pensacola today. There's one there that's the 'largest' they say. Grilling steaks tonight, beach tomorrow hopefully and we'll see from there. I just ran off. I do this sometimes.... I dont' tell anyone, I just hit the road. Pissed a few previous boyfriends off like that before. It's just a stress "me time" thing...

Have a good day all!

New shocks are in. that was too easy. Trying to think of a place on Saturday that I can drive the way Mick requested..i am pretty sure I have already annoyed the neighbors enough.

It's pretty warm here already.

4 cars done, ran the boat. Boat idle ran a little high . Didn't change anything so I guess I'll try to put in in the water next week and run it through the rpm range. I really need to run this old gas out of it. It has stablizer but it still needs a hard run. Weather has been hot dry and windy. Hell, I was outside 4 hours and I'm toasted. Should go grab a nap. Long night ahead.

We made it back to KC. sitting here watching some of the 24 hours, Corvettes appear to be doing well.

Don, here are a couple more pictures.

An 81 and an 80. The guy in the 81 came almost 1000 miles, the guy in the 80 came around 600 without AC. That's dedication.

I busted my hump in the garage today, got the doors on the cabinets and some of the stuff put away. I'll finish it up tomorrow.

So, I went down to the casino to relax a bit.

Well, I got three good long data scans sent off to Mick and tested my FP at idle and RPM, I did not tape it to the windshield yet but may attempt that tomorrow. My FP was 40 at idle and went down to 38 when increasing RPM but would climb back to 40 again.I guess this is normal based on other searches I did on FP threads. What do you guys with LT1 cars get?

That's within gange. I see 42 before startup, 39 running.

@ 38 idling you can pull the vacuum line off the regulator and it should go back to 40-42.

Taped to the windshield will probably show the same and you can vary it by changing the throttle position (it just varys the vacuum to the regulator).
I've driven quite a few miles at 80mph with the hood unlatched.

Today's question of the day:

Why are wives so good at pissing off their husbands? Discuss.

Ugh.

You can never be pregnant.
You can wear a white T-shirt to a water park.
You can wear NO shirt to a water park.
Car mechanics tell you the truth.
The world is your urinal.
You never have to drive to another gas station restroom because this one is just too icky.
You don't have to stop and think of which way to turn a nut on a bolt.
Same work, more pay.
Wrinkles add character.
Wedding dress $5000. Tux rental-$100.
People never stare at your chest when you're talking to them.
New shoes don't cut, blister, or mangle your feet.
One mood all the time.
Phone conversations are over in 30 seconds flat.
You know stuff about tanks.
A five-day vacation requires only one suitcase.
You can open all your own jars.
You get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness.
If someone forgets to invite you, he or she can still be your friend.
Your underwear is $8.95 for a three-pack.
Three pairs of shoes are more than enough.
You almost never have strap problems in public.
You are unable to see wrinkles in your clothes..
Everything on your face stays its original color.

The same hairstyle lasts for years, maybe decades.
You only have to shave your face and neck.
You can play with toys all your life.
One wallet and one pair of shoes -- one color for all seasons.
You can wear shorts no matter how your legs look.
You can 'do your nails with a pocket knife.
You have freedom of choice concerning growing a mustache.
You can do Christmas shopping for 25 relatives on December 24 in 25 minutes.
No wonder men are happier.

Had a pretty productive day. My sons helped with the deck, and we probably got between 60-70% of the screws out of the decking. Word to the wise - if you install screws in your deck, pony up for stainless steel. Otherwise, if you live long enough to have to remove them, you'll wish you had. Anyway, more of the same on tap tomorrow :-P

Well, my wife has had almost 41 years of practice and experience (going back to our first date). It seems to be she knows which buttons to push. This week though, she has been a super wife. Letting me do the Corvette thing most of the week, but I know that I'm going to pay for it later this week.

You'll never believe how close we were that time. The woman and her family we were going to see locked her wallet and cellphone in her safe. That was the only number we had. We went up and down the streets parallel to theirs. We needed to go to a connecting avenue over one block to get to her street. Ah, screw it.

The thing tonight was pretty good. A big family affair with about 50 of the two kids closest friends and about 50 middle aged and elderly adults. The kids that showed up were 13/14 y/o. My wife caught two of them in the womens room stall playing hide the salami. Mini dresses are back in style and these kids parents bought the short dresses and skirts these girls were wearing. Ain't no way the kids could afford them. Kids today ......

Put on 160 miles or so on the 91. Ran like a top. Sue's cousin showed up with his Blue 2008 F430 F1 Ferrari Spider (his wife drives a Lambo) I could fall for a car like that. Liked it better than the Lambo too. It looked kinda like this.
