Good Morning CGs!

So I was racking my brain again last night reading about battery back up sump pumps. Still trying to decide on the exact one. Maybe zoeller 507? Maybe a watchdog? Not sure. So I skipped that after more than an hour and started looking at watches...lol. Not expensive ones. I wear a regular timex ironman everyday that has a velcro strap. I'm sick of replacing the strap once a year for $10 a pop, plus it's kind of at the point that I'm a 31 year old man wearing a velco watch. So I have narrowed it down to these two - what do you think:

Resized Image

http://www.amazon.com/Timex-T5H971-Ir ... F8&qid=1307844267&sr=1-16

OR

Resized Image

http://www.amazon.com/Timex-T77517-At ... F8&qid=1307877463&sr=8-15

Can't decide. I like the band on the first one but the face on the second one What to do?

In other news, no landscaping got done yesterday due to the weather. We'll have to reschedule.

I still need to drain the excess water out of the pool and reshock it to get the chemicals straight again. Always fun.

No other updates on the car yet.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Matthew

Matt #2 is nice......they are both good though. Fell asleep in the big chair watching the race and finally went to bed. Now I am back up watching. Yikes hope the Corvette hangs together.

Not much going on today, Corvette driving maybe and some Church. I see a big nap happening after lunch.

Enjoy Guru's!

Good Mornin' Race Fans!

Again, I was up before the sun. I have been watching the race since I woke up. I'll keep my comments to the other thread so as not to spoil anything.

Watches.... I'm an analog guy but for running and biking I have an iron man similar to those. Either one is cool to me. I own three different Citizen Eco-Drive analog watches that I wear on a daily basis. They are the best in my opinion. One of them is a titanium Skyhawk, one is a nice Rubber band diver, and the other is a casual canvas band. I wear the diver almost 24/7

The weather looks like its going to be good today. Less humidity than yesterday. I might drive the Vette down to the waterfront later and get some photos... we'll see

I've been wearing the same Seiko for 31 years. Put maybe 5 batterys in it in that time.
The gold's looking a bit natty.

But my favorite watch is my Robic.

Wetsanded with 2000 and buffed half the Vette yesterday...

Nice work, Jeff.

I'm going to upgrade my 11 year old radar detector today to the latest version of the same model, there's an $80 trade in deal going on.

Howdy! Back to working on dismantling the deck today. At least I'm starting out the day sore from yesterday so it shouldn't get much worse. Fun times.

Bill, what kind of detector are you getting? My old BEL needs to be replaced one of these days.

Have a good one, yawlz!

I use the follow a faster car and watch his brake lights radar detector system. I've been caught dead in the beam 5 to 10 mph over the posted speed limit and draw no interest. Much over that and you will get the attention of the enforcement officers. My son recently passed a cop doing nuts on speed limit at 70. The cop pulled him over and asked him what the hell is wrong with you. If I'm doing 70 why would you pass me? He let him go with a verbal warning.

I'm getting the Escort 8500 XL 50. The main reason is price.
My current one is the 7500 which is 2 model upgrades below the XL50.
The XL50 is identical in the controls and display to what I have now but, it has a 50 to 60% increase in sensitivity. And way less false alerts.

And my current one is pretty damn good.

I thought about Valentine a bit but, it's more $$$. And I had a chance to compare their V1 to my 7500 on long trips, they both alerted at the same time. The arrows are nice but I don't think it's a big deal because, once the detector goes off, you're down to the speed limit anyway.

The more expensive Bel's get good reviews too, but the 8500 is at the top of the medium price range.

You can get a $40 trade in for the Bel right now.

I just feel naked without one.

Yea, generally 5-10 is a free pass but there's LEO's out there that will ticket you for 5, especially in small towns @25 mph limits.

I really don't speed much, (anymore) .

It's just a comfort thing.

Lookin good Bill. I have an Escort 8500 X50 and think it's the best. It will alert you in plenty of time if the LEOs are shooting. The problem with rural America is, unless there is other traffic ahead of you they'll sit and wait for you. I'm not a big speeder either, just like to know where those guys are. In Kansas, the KHP will give you 5-6 but above that they are watching you very closely.

We are headed home pretty quick here, another 6 hours on the road.

The wife came home from the show saying she wants a gun. She went back to the nursery with two of her workers. Two guys distracted her while three ransacked the pickup truck parked outside the gate. They tossed everything around but didn't take anything. The guys outside then spotted the two workers in the nursery. They called out to the two distracters, Hey! your moms on the phone. They all took off. My wife and the workers tried to chase them down to get a tag while they phoned 911 and gave them the discription of the males and the car. Silver 4 dr with dark tinted windows 5 hispanic males covered in tats neck and all. Friggin gangbangers.

I made it home guys...6 hours 8 minutes and two stops. Made really good time. On I70 I had rabbits out there in front nearly all the way. Even had rabbits on most of the two lane, so we were able to run +9 most of the way.

Tommy, I know how she feels, SOBs. Bill, she'd double your compressors storage capacity....

Right at 1600 miles on this trip.

Get home to find out the daughters van is overheating. Sounds like a head gasket to me, but I haven't looked at it yet. Probably more money out of dad's pocket.

The nursey is in a secluded area. I've thought of packin when I go out there at midnight in the wintertime. The thing is you have to have it on your person and ready to go. CWP is the best option. No three moves away bullshit. Draw, release safety, bang.

Don't think it's a head gasket, no coolant in the oil. Looks to be leaking from a heater hose (he says with his fingers crossed).

Welcome Home TB! Hope you have some good luck with the leak tomorrow. You need to relax and get some rest and then fill us all in on your trip tomorrow.

Anybody ever screwed with a Chevy Venture. Crap you can't even get to the sides or back of the engine. I may try to get it into a shop.

OR

Can't decide. I like the band on the first one but the face on the second one What to do?

In other news, no landscaping got done yesterday due to the weather. We'll have to reschedule.

I still need to drain the excess water out of the pool and reshock it to get the chemicals straight again. Always fun.

No other updates on the car yet.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Matthew

Me I'd go with the first one I like the face better looks more modern to me, and the band is nicer.. that being said... I think I could see you with the second one as the face is more your style... band so so...

Anyway.. I've been busy lately.. lots of corvette projects for customers.. and yard work, we had our driveway replaced and the landscapeing removed in the front yard.. so starting all fresh with that.. today added a small waterfall and planted some green carpet plants around it next to our walk.. tomorrow work and more work after that.. pretty much how the rest of the week looks... Busy! but not complaining...
