Good Morning CGs!

We've got some nasty rain/thunder going on outside right now. Not sure how long that will keep up. Every time it rains it reminds me to order the back up sump pump I have so many things running through my head that I forget about stuff, then it pops into my head at random times...for example I need new hoses for the washing machine. Who the hell thinks about that? No one but me. They're 5 years old and that's about the life expectancy. I try to make a list, but then forget what I need to put on it...

No work has been accomplished on the car since yesterday was father's day (wait, doesn't that mean it's my day to do what I want? nope). Maybe this evening I can do some more diagnostic testing.

Not much else to report.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

I make a list as I go. Set out a piece of paper and pencil. Think of it and put it on the list. At the end of a couple of hours you should have the most urgent needs listed and the others can wait till they're more pressing. Luckily I have no immediate (urgent) projects. Just ones that need to get done at some point. Hopefully soon. Crap ..... Better start my list. I have company coming at the end of the week.
My list is already making me ........

We are supposed to change the washing machine hoses every 5 years? I didn't know that. I never have done that ever that I can think of....I make a note to read my notes....but my wife is always willing to remind me of stuff.

Big weekend at the inlaws. Mostly work since my mother in law is moving into a smaller place everything is having to be decided on as to what she will keep and what will go to the auction. Not always easy choices. Some much stuff we accumulate over a lifetime. Made me want to get back and start cleaning out our stuff.

Got a big week at work going on again so I better get to it. My 90 ran great this weekend and I enjoyed the much improved air conditioning in it. Have a great day Guru's!

Raining here today also. Not hard, just steady and here for the day.

Matt - I think I have a new set of braided hoses in the garage. We have had two new washers here over the past year and wound up with an extra set or two of hoses that were only used for a short period of time. If they are still down there, they are yours if you want them. PM your address.

I don't need any dating lists... at least not yet! The wife hasn't kicked me out in 18 years of marriage, so I think I'm sorta safe.

My point in the dating post was the that gets written today is hardly worth the space taken to write it. (Much like what I post). I can't believe some people actually make a living posting the schlock stories that are weakly researched, have little or no value in life applications and are strongly biased in the direction of the writers limited experiences in life. Palease! I must like to read them so I can pick em apart. Most of the time I just go .....

Howdy! Looks like we have a few days of rain coming. Just what we need - I already have mushrooms growing in the yard. Made a little more progress dismantling the deck yesterday - I can see light at the end of the tunnel. Gonna order my new decking in the next couple of days, since it will probably take a week or more to get here.

Have a good day, everyone!

Been there, done that. A good friend of mine owned a golf course in Pa.

I do know that you can fit 10 drunks on a cart, at night.

I also know that the golf course insurance company will pay for cart repair from some accidents......if they can't prove there were 10 drunks on the cart.

It's really Monday already?!?!?

Fathers day... It was windy and gray for most of the day. Wife's car somehow got a screw in one of the front tires and was sitting in the driveway doing the dogward dog Sunday afternoon. I put a plug in it and now I'm pricing 2 tires for the front. 235-65/R17..goofy size. Kumho's are looking good at $120 ea.

Burned the most recent .bin from Mick to a chip on Saturday. That was a first for me. Took a bit to get it all figured out. Put it in the Vette yesterday. Checked for vac leaks since Mick said that it's showing split BLM's at idle. I didn't find anything. Took it for a ride to log somemore. It seemed to run ok. I still hear something that doesn't sound right to me in the top end of the engine though. I am going to pull one of the VC's and see what's up. Builder swore that the valvetrain Geometry looked good but I'm not so sure. With the Hotcam and the 1.6 rollers I doubt that stock length p-rods are right. And I think that reusing the Percy's header gaskets didn't work for me.

Anyway, I'm pretty sick of messing with the car and not driving it. Out of the 1.5 years that I've had it I've gotten maybe 6 months of driving out of it. Pretty disgusted with it.

Jeff, hang in there dude! I feel sort of the same way. I haven't actually driven my car for enjoyment in well over a year. I'm almost to the point of just selling it for scrap and going out and buying a new Boss Mustang!!

I'm just kind of sick of the whole car thing too!!! LOL

I could use a cruise in the Caribbean and some good boat drinks!

I'd like to be driving mine too. Had a trip planned to Bloomington gold and now can't go. Don't have the money. Sure i could ride with someone or share a room, not much fun in that. Car didn't get done yesterday. One problem after another gave up early. The air still needs fixed in the truck also. Hoping to get that done in a day or two. Already been to the gym and bout to have lunch then rest a bit and run errands.
I keep my 'need to get' list in my phone. I always have it with me so when I think of something I can just make a note in htere or add it to a note I already have going...

Thinking about taking it and the Jetta to the Chevy dealer to see what they'd do trading both in on a C5... They can't be that bad for the little bit of snow we get here.

Wife calls it the moneypit and I'm starting to agree with her.

The C5 would be great! Trade in at Chevy Dealer, BAD Idea. I have very close friends at the dealership and they still could not give me squat for my Corvette. Even knowing that I have a brand new engine, transmission and other new stuff, I'd be lucky if they could give me $3K for it. $4K for my Xterra on a good day.

With that, I might still be able to get into a C5 Z06 with a $15K loan. What's that another $350 per month... No thanks. I could have done that a year ago when this damn car quit running. Oh well... life goes on. It will all come to pass!

This is the deal. When you have a car won't run there is little you can do with it. It's either commit to rebuild or take a loss and start over with another car. I have never walked away from a non running vehicle. I just couldn't stand the pain. Always got them running and sold them, traded them or kept them. (Mostly kept them). Brad , Matt, Don, Jeff, Pete, Andy and others have all gone through the pain. Many of you have come to far to turn back now. Push through it. All will be OK. I know what I'm talking about here. Did it with both Corvettes, one 911 and now the 928.
Right now they're all running pretty damn good except for the 928. (fingers crossed, knock on wood)

Oh, it runs and it actually sounds pretty good from behind.
Just getting it all buttoned up is starting to get grueling.

I will push through and I'm sure I'll love it. Just frustrated. I know there are a few other members like myself and Don...Matthew who are in this same state right now.

Had a really bad day at work today. My head is spinning in circles. Got home late and went for a bike ride to clear my mind. That helped a lot. Ate some dinner and worked on the car, found the problem and it's not good. Add it to the list of my shit week. Man.

After I posted this morning, though, I did order the back up sump pump!

Matthew

PS - Don, thanks for the offer, but I can buy them local cheap and it's not worth your time even shipping them!

A friend of ours that also owns a nursery just got her tool shed robbed. They cut the chain on the front gate and cut the lock on her shed. She lost chain saws and other tools that were in there. My wife calculated her loss from the other day at between $400 and $500. I pulled the tape from the security cameras. Friggin system is getting old. The tape was grainy and of no real use. Tomorrow a security camera firm is coming out to give us a quote on a new system. Time to upgrade. The one at our house is in the same boat. Might be able to just upgrade the recorder. We'll see. Crime locally appears to be on the rise. The gun option is still on the table. I really wish more of these low life bastards would die at the hands of home and business owners. They really need to be shown that crime does not pay. We have also been in contact with the local Agriculture Patrol. They are part of the county police department and concentrate on Ag related issues. They patrol fields, nurseries, packing houses, stables, farms and other places involved in the industry. Pretty good group of people. With the recent uptick in crime they're looking for leads. We have worked with them in the past in solving thefts. Some asshat stole an ATV from our nursery a few years back. We offered a reward. Got a taker. They ratted out the location of the ATV. Couple of kids in their late teens. Let's just say Mom and Dad weren't too happy about what their son was involved in. Fortunately they were over 18 so no juvi for them. Go directly to jail, do not pass GO. The ATV was worth several thousand bucks. The owner got it back with just a few more scratches than before.

It's such a shame that putting a string on the shotgun trigger and attaching it to the door latch is illegal.

Hey guys......it's been a log day. Working my azz off, reprogramming the garage opener, the wireless touchpad, and the car to work. Then on to repairing sh!t in the house electrical-wise. Then my daughter did something very nice for me for father's day, she got me in for a 90 minute massage. What a wonderful time....sure didn't feel like 90 minutes. Then back to do more electrical work, just finished up for this trip.

We will load up in the morning and head west. I'll try to check in before I leave.
