Just a quickie. I have stuff to do before my company arrives. I toosed and turned trying to get to sleep last night. Finally got up, took a benadryl and waited till the drowsiness kicked in. I was house bidding in my head, shopping for a Chrysler 300 and pursuing other useless thoughs that prevented me from falling to sleep. I did manage to get 5 hours sleep in. I hope that will be enough.

Good morning guys...sorry for the diversion in the "other" thread... I knew I'd get my wrists slapped for that one, but I snuck it in anyway.

I hope everyone has a good day. The sun is shining here but I have a ton of work to do for the man. We are having people over tomorrow too and the house looks like crap. Just no time to do it all.

The car has to wait as well. Hopefully I'll get some time on Sunday to play with it.

Cheers!

Good Morning CGs!

Rugrat #2 was intent on not letting me sleep last night...lol. Up from about 10:30 til 1:30 over and over...then he ate and slept til 5:30 without a peep so that was nice.

Have to get rugrat #1 up, washed, dressed, and off to daycare soon. BIL has to come over in a bit and watch rugrat #2 so I can do some work related stuff. Then I'm home and waiting for the wife. No projects will get done today, at least not big ones.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Morning guys.....not much going on with me today. I slept in a bit and later I'm taking the grandsons to "Cars 2".

Don, if you are talking about the thread which I replied to, don't be apologizin'. Tommy, find some time for a nap today, sounds like you might need it. Matt, I remember those days, you'll survive, but those times will come to (more or less) an end. Jeff, looks like you have your weekend all planned out. Bill, that's just what you need, more stuff for your garage.

I'll be checking in later.

Dropped off rugrat #1 at daycare...she whined a bit but she'll be fine. Got rugrat #2 home and tried to feed him, he won't eat. Looks like he's got a little cold and it's affecting his appetite. Oh well, he'll eat when he's hungry.

Happy Friday! I went and got a root canal bright and early this morning - went better than I expected. Got home and ordered hidden fasteners for the new decking, now on to a golf tournament shortly. Action-packed day! And it is sunny and warm for a change - gonna get the Vette out of the garage and blow the dust off of it.

Enjoy your day, all!

Hey Don, about the time we all have to vote the party line around here I won't be interested. Sometimes what is right is not the popular thing. You stick to your guns.

Working around the office today trying to keep up with the paper work. Then some yard work and will pull the cover off the car and get it ready for the weekend. Oh yeah it's the weekend.

Brad some pics as soon as you are done will be nice. Matt word for the day for ya is perseverance. I think that is how it is spelled.

Rock and roll today Guru's

Does that mean you get to take it out and drive it just to keep the top end oiled up?

I was talking to one of my clients yesterday and he said, come out here and look what I got in the shed. I had no idea what he was talking about so I went with him and he proudly showed me his just bought 76 Corvette. I was suprised and told him so. He said he found it on Craigs list and got it for only 3500 bucks. I then thought uh oh.

I tried to act excited but the car is toast. Paint is gone and that is the 2nd or 3rd paint job. Interior shot. I think its an L48 auto but he says the owner said it was an L82 that has just been gone through. Mmmmmm I says.

I said well these C3's are cool cars and fairly easy to restore with all the parts available to them. I think he will spend 10K getting it back to drivable if he does the work himself. Does that sound right for a frame off?

I asked what a restored one like this is worth, and he said 15 to 18K. Man, what can you say.......I said Corvettes right now are down so you have to know that you will almost never get out of them what you put in them. But when resurected you will have a very cool car. It was originally red with red guts but someone had done the whole thing in blue. I wished he would have asked me first.

I hope he can get it going again. I think he paid way to much. I mean maybe for a chrome bumper car you could pay that but not for a 76. Am I wrong on that?

Ahhhhh, no.

Does he know how to do upholstry, fiberglass? Is he going to shoot the paint? Build the motor? Sandblast the frame?

If he's not going to do the above, I'll give you a figure.

Paint yes, frame yes, engine ck and fix if things are bad they can handle, fiberglass ?? upholstry no. They have a antique tractor rebuilding business. So have some capabilitys. What do you think? Fitty cents?

Well, that does make it better. Also depends on "a nice driver" or restored.

Everything you buy for the car (like a bolt) is $100 min.

Just the interior will be around $2k not counting anything on the dash (like gauge or clock repair) or parts replacement, console parts, seat belts, pedal pads and on and on.

If he doesn't have a spray booth, $3k for a crappy job.

Wheels & trim rings $800

Motor work/parts (assembling the motor is the least expense of the deal).

This shit goes down faster than a donut in front of Rosie O'donnell.

Guys with nice C2s on CF are commenting that they can spend $30k just getting the car back to origional.

$10k to get a daily driver? Maybe.

Like all C1's, C2's, 3's, 4's, 5's, it's way better to spend the extra bucks and get a nice one.

The inexpensive "deals", aren't.

Marcus, kind of like the folks that bought that 76 here....upside down immediately. But your client is in better shape than mine. They are into it for $6200

I just got back (with two younger GSs) from Cars 2. It's OK, graphics are great, story so-so, but they grandsons loved it. CASE Closed....

Agree. The critics were right. Just to watch the animation was awesome. Reflections, lighting, water explosions all were top notch.

It was a Mater movie. Some really funny punch lines with Larry's own wit showing through.

Gonna see it again at the Drive-In just for the fun of it.

Cheers!
