Strange week. The holiday on Monday has my mind clock out of whack. That and the two rain days (maybe today will be a washout too) has got me out of sorts. Yesterday was a loooooong day. My teeth got a good bill oh health except for one that has to go as soon as I set up an appointment. The dentist told me to call him when it bothered me and we'll take it out. That's always good for a 15 count vicodin script. Today I hope to get motivated. Key word ... hope. If not, there is always tomorrow ... or maybe the day after that. Have a great Friday one and all.

Good morning! Yes the short week has me all messed up also. We are doing Thursday work on Friday and when do we do our Friday work? On Saturday? I hate that.

I am suprised they want to take a tooth out Tommy. Most the time they will put a crown on it so you get to keep most of the original....

Still trying to make up my mind on what tires to get. Tommy said it right, they can make all the difference in how your car rides and performes. I was researching them on Tire Rack this morning........The Guru has been very helpfull in the Run Flat thread but out here we can get a long way from anywhere real quick. Like TB said you still have to lug a jack and tire wrench around or other stuff if you go none run flats......hummmmmm.

Gotta get going before it gets too hot, enjoy something today, its summertime!

Good Morning CGs!

Got a decent night of rest last night so I'm refreshed this morning. Headache is gone that bothered me all afternoon yesterday. Did a few miles running with the push stroller then switched to the bike and took rugrat #1 to the park. Not as far as I would have liked, but dinner was waiting for me at home.

I have a whole list of things I want to get done but can't seem to find the time to do them in. I need about 27 hours in the day if I could manage that. Then I'd get it all done...I think?

Hope everyone has a great day!

A quality spare with a trunk mounting option is always a possibility:

Happy Friday! Another action-packed day ahead - off to the dentist shortly to have them finish up my crown from my recent root canal, then more work on the deck. And my Mrs. is headed off to get a root canal of her own, just so she doesn't feel left out.

Enjoy your day, everyone!

Good Morning guys.

This has been a weird week for me too. I can't put my finger on it. However, we got some great news from the Oncology doc yesterday after Kathie's radiation treatment. Her treatments have been shortened by a week. This is based on body mass, bone density etc. That five days makes a big difference to her. So this was good. Other than than nothing happening except Sand Storms and Ex Cons killing people and Obama messing around with the economy again.

Marcus...lots of guys in my club swear by the Michelin Pilot Sports. I know they aint cheap but they are supposed to be the best. Also... almost nobody is using the runflats after the first replacement. Get AAA or Alstate Motor Club. I got a flat a few years ago a good ways from home and nobody to help. I jacked the car, unhooked the spare only to find it flat too! I called Allstate Motor Club and they had a flatbed out there in 30 minutes. They will either fix the flat on the spot (if possible) and air it up for you to be on your way... or take you and the car to the closest tire shop of your choice. I know it sounds like a PITA but the frequency of getting flats these days seems to be pretty low. Good Luck in your choices.

There's a couple of different Pilot's.

I need tires for the 92, BFG KDW's are $748

Michelin Pilots (PS2) are $1100

But Michelin Pilots (AS+) are only $788.

So, I'm going to look into the AS+.

Good morning guys....It's Friday! Heck during the summer they are all nearly alike to me, so it doesn't really matter. Marcus I am darn sure in the minority on the tire issue, you have to make up your own mind. Don, it's good to hear that Kathie is doing well. Brad, root canals' are so much fun you do them together, how nice.... Family discounts too?

I'm taking my middle GS to his baseball tourney today. This is an "All Star" team from our community. The tourney is about a 2 hour drive away. Plays at 2, if they win they play at 6, if they lose they play again at 8pm. It is proving to be a loooong day. The only bright spot is, I'm thinking of taking him in the Corvette.

Have a great day.

Bill, the AS + are what I have (mine are in the ZP, Zero Pressure versions) And they were cheaper than the Goodyear or Kuhmo runflats. My set for the C5 was $1000 out the door.

For $40 more than the BFGs (which I like) I may go with them. $788 is the Tirerack price so yea, $1000 out the door is what I'm thinkin'.

Okay... After reading Marcus's other post about which tires to choose and then considering the geographical location in which you country bumpkins live, I can understand the need for some more personal insurance like a runflat. I forget that I live in Obama Land where there is a tow truck on every corner. Whatever you choose it will still be awesome on that car!

OK dudes.

How many flats have you had in the last 10 - 20 years?

Me - zero.

And if you had any, were they from a nail/whatever that can be fixed with a can of Fix-a-flat?

Gambling...

I had a flat once in the 'vette. I already didn't have a spare. Actually, that's not true. I think I had one still but it doesn't fit over the aftermarket fron calipers. I think I had to take a rear wheel off and put it on the front and put the donut on the rear.

Anyways, that's the only flat tire I've had in my entire life.

I had a flat on the C5 last year....first flat I'd had in years. But it came at a very inopportune time. I was certainly glad I had the run-flats then...I would have been dead in the water for some time. Although where I had it was in a metro area, it wasn't a fun time.

Flats .... at least 3 One in the Yukon. Bolt through the tire on the turnpike. Changed to the spare. 90 Vette, nail through the tire. Pumped it up, went to the tire shop and got an inside patch. 91 Corvette 6 weeks or so. Tire tread seperated from the tire. Towed to the shop and got a whole new set. Actually 2 sets. The 90's were weather cracked and about 5+ years old. I'm pretty well educated on tires. Pretty much I buy summer ultra performance tires with good wet traction. I had good luck with my Firestone wide ovals. They just got old. I should have drove them harder. They had plenty of tread left. I've have/had Dunlops, Sumis and Falkens on the Porsches. With so many cars I have to be thrifty. If I had one baby I'd give her nothing but the best. Instead I try to get the best I can buy for the price. I get 10,000 miles or less on my tires because the cars get 1500 to 2000 miles per year tops. They get old before they wear out.

I have only had one in the past ten or fifteen years, but in the early 90s we moved into a brand new residential neighborhood where they were still building lots of new homes. We must have got at least three flat tires in the first year we lived there from nails being dropped off construction vehicles driving in and out of the neighborhood. Around here all we got is fish hooks! LOL they hurt in bare feet!

Good afternoon...now! Drove the vette in to work today. Pleasant this morning with the top down. Hope you guys stay well or get well to you and yours!

While you guys are talking tires...has anyone heard of Avon Tyres and does anyone still sell them? I got some 3 years or so ago, still in good shape, but if something goes wrong, I'll be mismatched.

They're still big in the motorcycle market. Car tires will be tough (assuming they still make your size). Easier in the U.K. though.

Don - had a flat back in 1999...then no more until the vette and I got two nails in the same tire about 6 months apart. Geeze.
