Good Morning CGs!

Short on time this morning. Not much here to report, might hit a car show after work with Rick. If I get a chance, I'll pull the governor before I go and change a weight and spring, see how that works out.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Howdy! Dark, dreary and rainy here today, so the Vette is in the garage. The top has been off since early July, too busy or lazy to put it back on. I need to think about getting a lift one of these days, that would be really handy.

Make the most of your day, Gurus!

Good morning all! I'm at Quantico again today. I have extremely limited access so I will keep this short and just say good morning. Heading out after work to shop night at Sport Chevrolet. I hope the traffic is light on the way home. Chat later

Have a good day all.

It's Big Tuesday and this may be the last one of the season I am hoping.....We are doing the last irrigation scheduling this week and after that it's pretty much over. We will be back on some late planted soybean fields but that won't be much.

Gonna be hot today, sunny and bright. Not a lot more going on.

Matt hope you get things figured out for some nice fall runs.....Jeff also. Haven't heard anymore from the guy that bought the 90 from me so no news is good news there I'm thinking. Don how did the interview go?

Enjoy your day Gurus it won't be long and we will be bitching about the cold weather......

Morning guys...Sounds like everyone is short on time this morning, me too. I'm at school awaiting the first meeting. Guys if you have the space, I highly recommend a lift. they are great. My wife wasn't excited at first, but now her comment is "Why did we wait so long?"

Yea, Marcus...HOT, predicting 105 for us today. Glad I'm inside.

I need a lift................in my ambition.

I found out that my shopvac is so powerful that when it's attached to the glass bead cabinet, it's sucking the glass beads out of the cabinet.
So, this a.m. I guess I'll drive over to Summit for more beads.

Then, I'll have to reengineer the blast cabinet....again.

Feels like I should be some place today! Teachers have meetings today with students tomorrow, and I'm no longer involved. Had to pick up somethings I left behind at school last spring yesterday. My old Wood Shop is now 4 classrooms with all kinds of electronics, smart boards, elmos, and advanced HVAC. Oliver table saw, jointers, lathes were sold for scrap, approx 6,000 lbs of 5/4 rough sawn stock was hauled off to the land fill. Oh well, all of our kids are going to college don't ya know.
Spending quality time with the 87 doing permanent repairs on the temporary repairs I made in Laramie 2 weeks ago on the road. Later funeral home time for a retired teacher (62)that retired this June and died of a heart attack Sunday. He was changing oil in his AMX when it hit him. His wife found him under the car when she returned from church. He was planning on during the Hot Rod power tour next spring. Great guy! American Motors/ MoPar crazed.
Well time to attack the Vette.

I guess if you're going, that is one of the better ways. 62 is too young though.

We have meeting again in about a half hour. We start with kids tomorrow too. I would have liked a chance at some of that equipment, they don't build them like that today.

TB no kidding about the equipment! I would have paid more than a scrap rate for that 14" Oliver.

Agree 62 is way to young, he was a runner, never smoked, health nut, survived 3 tours in Vietnam. His AMX was fast the stock 401 had guts. He also had an MGB GT.

Thanks Brad. He was crazy! Good crazy! His students loved him, spoke his mind and didn't take any shit from anyone. Told a principal (a real pussy) that he shits better things then him. Principal was later fired. He taught History, you should of heard his take on the Vietnam War and todays pussys in Congress. We actually crossed paths in Saigon in 1969, small world! he was a tunnel rat/SOG, I had more ears then he did

Nothing exciting going on here oh except that my community college had to cancel classes today (the second day of the semester) due to a bomb threat. What a world we live it.

Put the Vette up on jackstands last night to get the driveshaft out. I could really use one of those crazy contraptions like you have Tom. Found an exhaust leak at the cat and back where the muffler goes on the rear tube. I'm taking the mid section to a shop today to have it welded or something. It needs to be about 3" longer. Maybe I can rent a pipe stretcher?

Anyway, everyone is keeping an eye on Hurricane Irene.

Have a great day folks!

Jeff

Exhaust leak pic..just for the hell of it.

TWENTY DOLLARS

On their wedding night, the young bride
Approached her new husband and asked
for $20.00 for their first lovemaking
Encounter. In his highly aroused state,
Her husband readily agreed.
This scenario was repeated each time they made
Love, for more than 40 years, with him thinking that it was a
Cute way for her to afford new clothes and other incidentals that
She needed.
Arriving home around noon one day, she was
Surprised to find her husband in a very drunken state.
During the next few minutes, he explained that
His employer was going through a process of corporate
Downsizing, and he had been let go.

It was unlikely that, at the age of 59, he'd be able to find
Another position that paid anywhere near what
He'd been earning, and therefore, they were financially ruined.

Calmly, his wife handed him a bank book which
Showed more than forty years of steady deposits and interest totaling
Nearly $1 million.. Then she showed him certificates of deposits issued
By the bank which were worth over $2 million,
And informed him that they
Were one of the largest depositors in the bank.

She explained that for more than
Three decades she had 'charged' him for sex,
These holdings had multiplied and these were the
Results of her savings and investments.

Faced with evidence of cash and investments
Worth over $3 million, her husband was so astounded he could
Barely speak, but finally he found his voice and blurted out,
'If I'd had any idea what you were doing,
I would have given you all my business!'

That's when she shot him.

Ron, it is a Direct Lift from GregSmithEquipment.com They have a retail outlet in Indianapolis. Less than $2000 delivered to my door (almost three years ago). My garage has 10'1" to 10'3" ceiling (sloped from front to back). It is a standard 7' door that I modified to a "high Lift" configuration. Works great.

Well that shook things up a little bit!!! My wife was panicked! I was on the phone with my mom when it hit. She said the house is shaking... oh my god the house is shaking bad... What do I do... Me: Mom, go outside. She drops the phone and runs to the neighbors. It was 5.9 according to local reports. Funny thing, I was in my car talking to my mom when it happened and I didn't fell a thing.

After taking a good look around I have stuff all over the house that has fallen on the floor from shelves etc, but nothing serious.

More as I get the intel.

Doesn't seem to be too much damage being reported on the news.

Finished my repairs on the 87, feel better now. Raining now with severe storms tonight.
Heading to the locate Chevy dealership to order two rear hubs for Erin's Vette. Drivers rear started making noise on the return trip two weeks ago. Better replace both hubs instead of just the one making noise. Where Erin works one of the specialist was harassed and attacked last night in the parking after her work shift. She shot a whole can of Wasp and Hornet Spray in the assholes face, eyes and mouth. When the police showed up the guy was having major problems breathing, seeing and talking, gawd ya gotta love Raid bug killer. I guess the perp was a long time petty thief with a long record. To add insult to injury the lab specialist was so pissed she threw a bag of flour and eggs on him. She had gone to the store during her break an hour before. Good thing she didn't have any bricks in the car.

Worst part about college is how bad they overcharge you for books!
