Slept in today till 07:30. Man, that was great. It's nice and quiet outside. No noise but the chirping of the birds. I find myself tip toeing around to to the noise level supressed. Sweet ........
One more major truckload of "stuff" to bring over but it's all outdoors. Tables, chairs, cinder blocks. I have a pretty good pile of metal that will make it's way to the scrap metal yard. Might as well make a few bucks for junk that has accumulated. Then it will be a full court press to get everything in it's place here at the compound. Enjoy the day guys (and gals). Might as well. You can enjoy it or not. The choice is yours.

I need one or two Oak colored hutches for kitchen storage. Does anybody have any leads on where I might find something like that. One cabinet maker came in at $2800 another at $5400. I was thinking there might just be a free standing hutch option.

Yea, stop by Lowes.
Look at Diamond Cabinets.

The designer there can give you a quote in 10 minutes.

Diamond is semicustom so any width, any height.

The least expensive of their models is "Prelude" (which I have in Maple).

Depending on the width and if you can keep the options reasonable, something like a 36 x 7 ft would be like $700.

What size?

Free standing is furniture. Your choice is propably crappy construction for the lsee expensive or high dollar for the good stuff.

At least oak is the least expensive.

And oak is everywhere, searck for "Oak Outlet", "furinture" in Homestead. Probably find 10 stores.
Carefully check the construction at these places.

Good morning guys..... Intenet connection this morning is good nd I'm on my laptop, halofreakingluya. Tommy if you're going to one of those Oak Outlet, not only check the construction, but check that t is truly oak. Those places have a habit of using junk wood disguised as oak.

It really happened guys, the cold front that was supposed to move through actual did and it is beautiful this morning. Shut the AC off here at the in-laws and opened the windows, slept like a baby

The one daughter that lives with us didn't get to make it to the get together yesterday because when she started out her van started to overheat, again. This is the same van that we spent almost $1000 repairing for the exact same problem in July. Time for a different car (and we know who is going to buy this one). She at least made it back home.

Today we are having an 82nd b-day party for my FIL. His a great man and I am thrilled that I get to be involved. MIL is getting more frail each time we come to see them.

Good Morning Gurus. I woke up at 4AM then went back to sleep. I just woke up again at 9:30, rested from two long days at the Grand Prix. What a hoot!!! This was my first experience watching Indy Cars and ALMS for that. Some people where complaining about limited viewing, however it is a city course and its tight. When we got hot, we walked back to the Corvette Corral and cooled off watching the race under the tent and drinking a cold beer!! I really enjoyed myself and this made up for all the missed events earlier in the season due to my car. My parade laps got to be... warm laps!! We got stopped by some track workers about half way through the course and had to wait a minute or so to clear. Then since I was three cars back from the lead, we all took off like a bat out of hell. I think we were hitting 60 or so at a few places. Rich, who was leading us missed one of the corners and he had to do a three point turn around to get back on course. I'll post the video later as I recorded the whole parade lap from inside the car.

Anyhow - I have a lot more comments to make but I got to help with breakfast here. Chat Later.

I should cut and paste my last twenty daily chat
entries here to save time.

Goes something like this:

Headed to the garage / shop to work on Corvette ________. I found the leak / broken part / misfire, and I really think I have it figured out this time. It should be back on the road / track by next week.

Then at the bottom I should add the most recent irritating thing that happened:

Someone hit my blue car
Someone ran a shopping cart along the whole side of my truck
My A/C went out at home on a sweet 94* hot spell

Sheesh. I know, I shouldn't complain, I have my health and job and family and friends, but it's been an irritating August. I think I'm just mad becasue nationals are this week and I will spectating instead of racing.

Good beautiful 52 degree Sunday morning. I slept in it has been a lot of late nights lately. Went to see the Huskers yesterday and had a good time. We have had our tickets for awhile and you get to know all the folks that sit around you and you do some cathing up. The game was ho hum, it's like preseason NFL, it doesn't mean much to me until we start playing league teams. We won 40 to 10.

Church this morning then I have a date with a beautiful car where there will be a lot of caressing and soft words spoken as I work the paint back to its former glory. Then a nice drive maybe even topless we shall see.

TB glad you are having a good time, Don sounds like a relaxed fun event which everyone out your way could use after the last week or two. Jon that's funny.....just fill in the blanks. Tommy nice to see your posts again and Bill I am starting to feel a little guilt about the DNBFS tour....maybe some encouragement there would help.

Live large today Guru's it's the good life.....

Yesterday I set out to accomplish...absolutely nothing.
I surpassed that.

Yesterday I thought the C4 needed to be cleaned up because it was dusty.
I blew the dust off with compressed air.

Yesterday I drove the C4 thru the mountains for no reason at all.
Funny how every road around here ends up at the casino.

Last night I had Dungeness Crab for dinner cause it's already cooked when you buy it and getting dinner ready is - pull the crab out of the bag - put it on a plate.

Good Morning CGs!

Rough day yesterday. Left work a few hours late and didn't get home until after 7 pm. I kicked my butt with a workout in the basement and that made me feel better. Came to the outlaws house because the wife and kids are here. Slept with the short rugrat and he was up tossing around all night. Woke up at 7:30 and I've been with him since then. Wife, MIL, FIL, and rugrat #1 went to the local county fair. Rugrat #1 likes to see the animals. FIL will buy some chickens to make fresh chicken soup with.

This afternoon I plan on tinkering with the car a bit. We'll see how that works out.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Intended to try and do some things today, but about the time I got motivated it started raining. To heck with it, I'm on the couch with a slice of pizzza and a beer, the Texas Rangers are on tv and the windows are open. I feel a nap coming on....

I started on the engine swing today. Got it nice and high in the air and secured for safety. Then I dropped the exhaust out from under it, which is as far as I will get done today. I can see a transmission bolt (A4) on the driver's side that is going to be real fun getting to (the one that also holds the top cat bracket).

That's why we have daily chat. What good is it to complain about something unless you have an audience.
