I did a search a couple of years ago, Bob. Then, there were some GM technicians that said they could.

I know you'll get dash codes if you try to clip wires, etc.

One thing for sure, If I ever get a new car with it, I'll find a way.

I know that bridges and tunnels disrupt the signal. Lobby your politicians to put all future roads underground.

It's ObamaCare, it's forced on you (if you buy the vehicle) whether you want it or not. GM's saying you have no choice and now we plan to sell that info.
Screw em.

It's an invasion of privacy.

If you want it to protect your family, yourself, fine BUT you should be able to turn it off if that's your desire.

OK, if you pull the fuse - there's an extra hidden fuse behind that battery.

If you unclip the antenna.....the antenna wiring will still transmit but with much shorter range.

Soooo, you you find which quarterpanel the OS unit is in and disconnect the 3 wire plug.

Stop paying the annual fee? Why would you not want a service that sends an email telling what the tire pressure is? :binky:

I kinda like that service when you have multiple vehicles and they are all over the country. I can keep track of the oil changes and other things. My daughters don't always pay attention to when things need serviced.......I tell them to pay attention but this gives me a back up.....

The OnStar program by General Motors is very popular. The OnStar privacy policy experienced substantial modifications a few weeks ago. The FTC introduced an investigation, which led to minor modifications within the brand new policy. Article source: Even with limits, OnStar will still be tracking and selling data. Privacy is all our concern and that's a strong reason why to turn off the account to OnStar.
