Hello all,
I am new to the forum/site and hope i am posting this in the correct area. I have a C1 corvette that I want to modify and graft in the suspension from a 1990 C4. I was wondering if I could get two questions answered here. 1) What is the degree angle from front to back of the upper control arm where it bolts to the cradle. I was told 15 degress but would like that confirmed. 2) What is the angle of the bracket that holds the two dog bones in place (on the frame) at the rear suspension. Remember the refernce angle should be that the ground is level. I'll be making up a cad profile and will share for all to see when I'm done. hopefully it'll be helpfull to all who want to upgrade and update their rides. Thank you for the help. |

Sounds like a very ambitious project. Make sure you document what you're doing, and I know a lot of us would appreciate a thread detailing your project car as a whole...kind of an introduction.
Welcome to the forum. |

So you want the front upper arm anti dive angle? Will check the 90 for you after dinner.
As far as the squat/anti squat instant center rear goes I believe DRM makes different front mounts for the dog bones & changes that angle for the better. I do not have DRM brackets so cannot help with that aspect. All I'm saying is that if your making brackets might as well make the ones that locate the components in a better place than stock. Might try a search for roll center heights, changes etc.. I have seen some cad illustrations on the net but do not recall if the control arm / dog bone angles were specified. Chow time. |

Lf upper = 14.3* down
Rf upper = 14.2* down For a base line: also checked the chassis front/rear angle at the sill plates.. .2 degrees high in the rear. Luck with your project. |

I think brian cunningham has some sketches that may show these angles and pivot points, he's a nerdy engineer and loves that stuff.
He's on here every now and then. |

I would also recommend looking at the Banski products. They reduce binding that occurs. The adjustment can also help with angles.

I'd be interested in seeing cunningham's sketches. Does any one know how to get a hold of him? I'm also a geeky engineer that enjoys doing this to lol.

Brian,
Thank you. I sent you a PM. Would you be willing to forward me the CAD dwgs. I use the program myself. It'll help with my build. |
