Another nice day here. I'm getting the C4 out and headed to my buddies machine shop. He wants me to do some air brushing on the locomotives he's building.

Time for a Beer

Sometimes when I reflect on all the beer I drink, I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. I think, "It is better to drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver."
Babe Ruth

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day."
Lyndon B. Johnson
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading."
Paul Horning

~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence?
I think not."
H. L. Menchken
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"When we drink, we get drunk. When we get drunk, we fall asleep. When we fall asleep, we commit no sin. When we commit no sin, we go to heaven. So, let's all get drunk and go to heaven!"
George Bernard Shaw

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy."
Benjamin Franklin
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you that the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does not go nearly as well with pizza."
Dave Barry

BEER: HELPING UGLY PEOPLE HAVE SEX SINCE 3000 B.C.!

To some it's a six-pack, to me it's a Support Group - Salvation in a can!
Leo Durocher

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One night at Cheers, Cliff Clavin explained the " Buffalo Theory" to his buddy Norm:
"Well, ya see, Norm, it's like this. A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members. In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, as we know, kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine! That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers.
Good Morning CGs!
A little chilly today, not as bad as yesterday. They claimed some snow/rain mix, but I guess it will pass South of us. I don't mind one bit.
My newer workout routine has been suiting me well. I've added some extra rest days in there and I've been feeling better. I'm happy about that. I really need to start running again but it's hard to get motivated in the cold weather. I need to get my butt in gear.
Hope everyone has a great day!
Hidey-ho! It just occurred to me that the days start getting longer soon, so I'm gonna have to adjust my nap schedule accordingly. Like the Boy Scouts say, be prepared.
Have a good day, all!
I hear ya about being out in the cold, I've been wanting to go for a long walk, but it's hard when I get home, it's dark out and cold.. I have been working with the weights more lately....
Anyway, just trying to survive the week and get everyones pre-christmas trip auto repairs done... TIP Don't wait till last minute to have your car worked on. and if you do plan on it not being ready... It puts more un-needed stress on your technician. We didn't build it, buy it, or break it, we are just trying to fix it...
Morning guys...it's sunshiney, bright, and warm outside, I think I'll take the Corvette out for a drive......NOT. I think this is the most snow we've had in one time in probably three or four years. Darn sure more snow than we had all of last year put together. Really not complaining though, we need the moisture.
Today was supposed to be the day my wifes' office gives out the Christmas baskets for the needy. Probably isn't going to happen today. US50 is closed, K25 is closed (these are the crossroads through our little town), the county offices are closed, the schools are closed. Most of SW Kansas is paralyzed from this storm. I'm going up to help her get the baskets ready.
Last night I went out to the shop and made a few items on my new (to me) lathe. I'll post some pictures when I find the cable to download the pictures.
The snow scenes look all too familiar - fortunately we don't have any right now. Awesome work with your lathe - you'll have to make a snowblower ;-)
Nope, wind has died down, quit snowing...for now. Sun actually came out while I was out finishing up the driveway. Sure worked up a sweat.
Hey Brad, you got a set of plans for one of those? Would make a great lathe project.
I didn'd take any but had a beautiful 2 1/2 hours driving in the foothills to and from Steve's place.
I painted the engine for his locomotive. Pics tomorrow, I'm too hopped up on lacquer thinner, acetone and urethane right now. Gotta wash out the paint taste in my mouth with a beer.
