Good Morning Guru's.....I'm up early because....I don't know why....lot of stuff going on and I am eager to seize the day.....hows that?
Big chat yesterday, it is always interesting to see where they take us throughout the day and one of the unique qualities of this forum. I'm glad to be part of it. How about those Baylor women at 40 and 0 winning the National Championship. Impressive. My Corvette has dead bugs on it from last weekends travels....looks good! I have heard say down at the coffee shop that it is going to be a buggy year....... Gotta go eat my porrage and get ready have a safe day Guru's...... |

Best wishes for Rosie and for your wife finding a new position, captmike. The job market seems a little improved over a the past few years. I want to lay myself off but not finding any good low cost prospects for my replacement. Gonna try and get an early start on things today. Looking at a very warm afternoon so I hope to be in the A/C by that time. The Mrs is doing a yard clean up just south of Key Largo today. Typical neglect situation. The crew is ready with machetes, clippers and chainsaws in hand. She had a dumpster dropped off to haul away all the cuttings. Yesterday, she and the crew built up a berm on a coastal road that's getting ready to be paved. She loves what she does and she's damned good at it. She loves seeing the transformation of a neglected home go to being the talk of the neighborhood. I enjoy seeing the before and after projects myself. Then again ..... I'm living in one ......... |

Morning guys.
The carpet guys will be here this morning. The best thing about is: I don't have to touch anything for once.  I'm paying for the removal & haulaway of the old carpet, pad and about 1,000 staples in the floor - $49. Sure is worth it since it would be $30 dump fee and $20 in gas for me to fo to the landfill. |

I keep a good coat of paint sealant/Wax on the front of the cars to help keep the bugs from sticking.
Still cloudy and cool today, we've had almost 2" of rain over the last 48 hours. Nice soaking rain, the farmers should be rejoicing, but knowing farmers, they always complain about something. |

Well Just sold my old 4+3 and am in a new world. Ebay/Paypal/UPS. How in the hell do you figure out getting a shipping lable on line. Gave up and went to a UPS store about a Mile away. Young girl comes out and helps me . She has to take a phone call. She calls her mother out to help me I fall in lust. She holds my hand through the hole thing. I am having lunch with her today at noon. LOL

Krishna, Krishna, Krishna...I hope Rosie is Ok. In all seriousness I am beaming a signal out. I'm a Ham. I actually got an operator in Brazil on a 10 meter frequency today... some 5000miles on nothing more than a 20 foot pieced of wire hanging between the basketball hoop an the side of the house. It amazes me sometimes. Those stormes tossing trucks through the air yesterday were something else! I wonder how anyone survives those massive storms. |

Alan, that wasn't even a very big one. The one that wiped out Greensburg was over a mile and a half wide, 250 mph winds. Hamming is cool, I never did it, but they have been talking about setting up a class here so as to get some people licensed in case of emergencies. My wife is the county LEPC (Local Emergency Preparedness Committee)director, and has volunteered me for lots of those little jobs.

Man, I'm having a rough week.
Sunday a 200 lb plant fell over on my back impaling me with thorns and wire. Luckily it was just a scrape. Close call. Monday night when walking to the bedroom I stubbed my little toe on my left foot .... twice. It bled. Today I went to collect the rent. My tenants "friendly" dog took a shot at my left hand when I went to pet it. No deep punctures but he drug his canine tooth down my middle finger. Quick reflexes saved me from a trip to the hospital. My tetnis shot is up to date, I washed the scrape imediately. When I got home I peroxided it and then spread some antibiotic cream over it. I'm moving slower and being a lot more careful. I need a day or two more to heal up. |
